If you're wondering why quelling blade is so OP, well, it just is. On the other hand, it's an entire inventory slot and a whole 225 gold. When you're looking to cut any item you can to get your first item (ring of basilius/health, hand of midas, w/e), sometimes the blade just doesn't make the cut.

Also, there are times when you are just free-farming in safelane so you don't need it, anyway.

is it just me or did this response not answer the question in the slightest and then assumed a completely unrelated question?

anyway the answer is its applied to total damage, not just base damage

I played in a pub and our opponent had no ranged heroes, their 4 position Abaddon used Quelling Blade to deward the high ground wards. We ganked the shit out of him he was sad.

Crimson guard only blocks damage from autoattacks. Tinker's march goes right through it.
CK is the strongest hero in all of Dota 2, lore wise.

It doesn't actually just block autoattacks. It generally blocks Physical damage, including abilities, with a short list of exceptions thats annoying to keep track of because its different in DotA and DotA2 and 6.82 fucked some of them up.

March of the Machines is magic damage and is therefore unaffected.

No, Death Ward is on the list of exceptions I mentioned. IIRC the list of exceptions in the Damage Block article on the DotA 2 wiki is up to date for 6.81, but is now wrong because of 6.82 damage type changes.

I mentioned it when the patch hit--that the change made the system easier to learn but harder to actually understand because until Valve cleans up everything it broke, there's a ton more exceptions to the "basic" rules because of how many things Valve forgot about (damage block interaction with Physical damage is one of them).

are there new rules to what cancels clarity/salve? just saw a dude have his clarity on and walk through a sandking lvl 1 sandstorm without it getting cancelled.

There's a damage limit which i think Is 20 damage per instance. Stuff like rot level 1 and ion shell don't do enough damage
Sand storm level 1 also does insufficient damage

Yeah, but urn procs Cold Snap now, and it is suuuper obnoxious. And I think it disables dagger now, where it did not before. And procs damage instances of Refraction.

i don't want to start a new topic for this..but what was removed from my inventory with the last patch? i have a large gap where shit used to be..they could have erased half my commons and i would have no idea..not that if that was the case, i would care..but whats going on here?

Why do progamrs prefer maxing WD's stats over maledict. And why do they sometimes leave their voodoo restoration at level 2 and max stats instead?

Voodoo Restoration has the same heal per mana at every level. So if Voodoo Restoration is only used out of combat where the rate doesn't matter, the extra skill points in it don't buy anything except an increased toggle cost.

As for why level 2, I *think* it's because he needs a second level to completely heal his melee creeps between creep waves during a push, but I'm not sure.
