When I use Storm Spirit's vortex, then take one step forward, does the skill pull the enemy to the original position or my new position?

The implication of this being whether I should vortex and leave remnant at my original place or take a step forward THEN leave remnants?

Also, does storm spirit ulti deal damage to units along the way, or only the one at destination?

depends how far they are when you pull and what level your pull is
along the whole way

Did I understand you correct if the answer is when you have 131 more dmg then you have agility? Sometimes information is superfluous. This time it made your answer harder to understand.

Well the important point is that you must take into account every other attackspeed bonus. It's 130 because power treads give 30 IAS
Plus you lose 8 str points worth of health(roughly 150 health), while agility armor bonus might as well not be there.

But sure, 130 more damage than agi is roughly the point.

But how many instances of damage is it divided into? What is the interval between each damage tick?

EDIT:
Seems like its 18.75 damage per tick per second over 8 seconds.

Is the ult damage applied as the damage type it originates from or is it tallied up and then applied as pure damage (or hp removal) at the end of the duration?

It's a triggered untyped HP decrease.

Reductions are applied on the incoming damage when the damage is first received because False Promise is a triggered heal and not damage prevention. False Promise applies the triggered heal for each damage instance taken, and stores the actual HP loss for each instance. It then reapplies each instance of HP loss individually at the end. If they would be lethal, the target is killed with a real instance of 100 million physical damage (standard for HP removal since HP removal itself isn't lethal and needs a "real" damage instance to kill the unit).


Does that mean you would survive with 1hp if omniknight used his ult as false promises ends? (I know that's not a practical thing, but just curious about the mechanics). Well this one might need to wait for dota2 since dota1 guardian angel just gives 9999 armor if I remember correctly.

I guess the same question would apply to effects that remove units from play (like, and most specifically, Phoenix's ult). Though in that case I guess I'd expect the hero to still be a valid target, just one that's not on the map, but with Phoenix's ult there's some sort of protection from dieing it would seem.

No, omni ult is merely an unreasonable amount of armor (1k or somethign?) and not physical immunity. Which means 100 million phys dmg would be lethal regardless since u dont have 99.9999999% reduction.

I think that's only for dota 1 from what I heard? Though in DotA2 it may skip the armor, but still apply 99.999% reduction instead of 100%.

Dota 2 actually features a proper "kill" command that axe ult etc uses instead of eleventy billion damage.

I thought that omni ult was like 9k armor in dota 2 as well but the wiki says "phys immunity" so iunno.

Well if it's a proper kill command in either case False Promises would probably use that making the phys immunity vs armor sort of moot in terms of the specific interaction.

After digging more Supernova + False Promises would probably work like the Shadow Poison bug (if that hasn't been fixed) where Phoenix dies, but the egg stays around for the 6seconds.

The only reason it has to use the Physical damage is because HP Removal can't be lethal because of Warcraft 3 engine limitations. All HP Removal in DotA 1 has some sort of triggered "real" damage to do the last lethal instance.

In DotA 2 they all kill properly, so False Promise won't be any different.

Is morphling really good vs Ember mid 1vs1 ? I played for the first time morph mid because pudge wanted to offlane and dk to safelane, and the ember didn't see land, now the ember was probably shit, but is it in general a favored matchup for morph? It's up to date with all these ember pickers this patch

whats the easiest way to land ember's searing chains after using sleight of fist on a solo target? shift queue? or watch for the animation?

Best way to stop five amnning? Every game is just team fight after teamfight. Should I learn something like Warlock or would Visage or Spectre work well enough.

Techies, mine the towers so they can't push. Play 3 core with 2 farming and three at the tower they want.

What's the site that keeps track of heroe's pick/ban rate by patch? It's not datdota. I forgot what the name is.

(edit: I know datdota can filter hero pick/ban rate but I remember seeing another site that had it)

Watching the animation depends on your ping. Easier to just go practice the timing for like 5 minutes.

this is largely dependent on how good you are. the most obvious way is to kill someone on their team. they cant 5 man with a dead teammate. but this means you need a hero (preferably mid) that has good solo kill potential. on top of that you have to be good enough to actually find solo kills and not die for it.
if the above doesnt work, you could try split pushing with furion/lycan/am types of heroes, but that requires your team to not get absolutely destroyed every fight.
if the above also doesnt work, then yes just get fat with good teamfight heroes and win games.

or you can go for a hard hard carry and just hope you win the game off the ridiculous bounty comebacks
