its called quickcast in dota and yea for awhile i had 3 item slots on quickcast 3 on normal

how do I lane 1v1 mid as ember vs spam nukers like zeus/skywrath/death prophet I feel like i just feed in games when matchups like these occur

just sustain with bottle crow and dont position yourself badly. you cant win the lane but you shouldnt feed either. i've faced some top mmr embers at mid (and many more lower mmr embers) with heroes like warlock and pugna and they just get firstblooded cuz they try to go agro when they should play passively soak exp and wait for ganks.
rtz is like the Bieber of dota, true Canadian treasure.

I don't know if this is the place, but I have a question about matchmaking...

How is it "balanced" or even remotely fair to match a full group of 5 people who willingly accepted the invite, versus 2 groups of 2 and 3 or in some cases a solo player + 4 grouped players.

I've always had issues with this but not as much as I did last game, I almost abandoned, but chose to let the game end it's course by muting everyone and not caring too much. I couldn't coordinate with the team as much as the other "teamed" guys could (obviously) and especially not as much as 5 teamed people could. I tried my best to figure out what the fuck were they thinking, but alas, it all went to shit, since I was the odd one out. I've had bad games, but these types of games (5v3+2 or 5v4+1) are the worst of all. There were games where I didn't mind losing because the quality of the game was relatively high, but I almost developed a spider-sense for when they match me versus 5 man premades and I'm solo.

I know they want to reduce que time but I'd rather make ques longer but the match quality higher.

i assume you are talking about normal and not ranked since in ranked you cant q as 4 anymore. valve ease the limitations on normal because if you want more even games you can always go ranked where if you solo q you are mostly matched against other solo players and almost never against 5 stacks.

currently if you queue ranked, they'll always queue equal number of equal size stacks (e.g. 2 3 vs 2 3 or 1 1 3 vs 1 1 3) so it'll be fair that way

Yeah I was leveling up a smurf...

It's still garbage, I play low priority, normal and ranked games the same way I don't see a valid reason why would they implement that other than the fact that they are either trying to make me play ranked or piss me off (by "me" I mean an average dota 2 player)

It also depends on your heroes and theirs. If I'm a melee carry with low damage that isn't carrying a stout shield, I'm going to take a lot of creep damage while I'm dancing around my tower in the hopes that I might be able to last hit, so in that situation I may not want my support pulling the lane back. If I'm melee and both of the enemy heroes are ranged and capable of dealing a lot of harassment, I may want my support to stick around to make sure I don't die.

Pulling is often a good idea if lane is pushing towards their tower too. Especially if you feel they have some kill potential and you want the lane at your tower and the safety which comes with it. If the lane is already at your tower pulling might give them an opportunity to dive so you should definitely be more careful with it then.

When having minions and trying to give them seperate orders, after 5 seconds they often go to the heroes destination although i have only the hero selected... i tried all minion related options but it happens no matter what.

Anyone know this?

Have you checked the replay using your own view point? I do not have the problem you are describing, play a lot of enigma and some Chen.

I have the problem with Invoker forge spirits and Chen creeps.

Normally i have hero+minions in control group 1; send them somewhere.
Then hit F1 to select only the hero and make it the new control group 1 with ctrl+1.
At this point the minions are no longer part of the first control group, but as soon as I give a movement order the minions will go there too...
wow, this gank is gonna be easy....
