o.O He is one of the strongest lategame heroes of all. Then again... I always want to be a noob and play kunkka for the one-hit ultra kill :p
It's very doable though, so it's not such a bad idea.
phaseboots -> shadowblade (optional, but I usually take it) -> daedalus (for funsies, daedalus x2) Additionally: if you want to play it a little safer but not spike as hard, you can opt for a battlefury before or after the shadowblade for more mana and health regen. The battlefury splash actually stacks with kunkka's, so it's not a bad idea.
With those items alone, you can 1-shot their supports with a crit, as long as their supports are behind the target you actually connect with. Anyone in the splash area takes 100% physical dmg since armor is not taken into account.
edit: If you time it right, you can x-mark yourself, shadowblade headlong into the pushing enemy team, strike the lead hero and, if you're lucky, crit-one-shot everyone behind him, including all the creeps - and then instantly teleport back to where you first casted X-mark. It is probably the most gratifying, and reasonably easy to pull off, combos in dota 2. imo of course.
edit2: You can do this even very late game with phase + shadowblade + daedalus x2 + (assault or heart) + rapier. The assault/heart doesn't really do much for the one-shot, but it helps a lot in a teamfight where you miss the crit or are getting focused. If you went bfury early on, u can skip the assault/heart, but prepare for your team to hate you forever if you fail. It's about as all-or-nothing as you can get.

just keep buying crits until you get a big crit and win bfury aoe is too small, the regen is nice tho

You've just blown my mind. Never thought of x-mark myself for a free return. thanks man :D

Can anybody out there create a competitive guide for mortred phantom assassin? She is the hero I enjoy so much to play in pubs because I can be aggressive at level 1-2 but can also become unstoppable in the lategame. Unfortunately, she has so many glaring weakness. Its so easy to counter her. I want some help in getting a solid and refined build.
Currently I'm using only 1 build order: core: ring of health-boots- (battlefury rush) 20 min-25min = battlefury, threads, bkb, demon edge/satanic.
bonus story: I first picked her yesterday and the opponent picked every possible hero to counter her. Doom, Tiny, Warlock, Storm spirit and Spirit Breaker. At level 1, me and my lanemate pudge harassed the hell out of tiny before he can level up his skills. I had pudge with me in the lane and he traded with the two heroes and bought me time to get my battlefury early. In spite of this, my team of kunkka, necro, pudge and rexxar are constantly losing in team fights. The opponent's deathball was relentless in pushing us but I was able to get my bkb and cut them all to pieces while defending our last two towers...... it was a great game because I wasn't expecting to win with their lineup.
TLDR: I want to know if it is ok to go battlefury every game or will a time come where a bkb will come first? I prefer to be pro-active in building my items because being reactive defeats the purpose of being mortred. Also curious if this can work in in house games with all the right support heroes.

The problem with PA as a carry is she has two pretty glaring flaws
1. She requires a bfury to flash-farm with any power, not having a bfury on her is like not having one on AM or Void, you can do it, but your farming speed will be slowed by a lot
2. Phantom assassin relies on luck more than anything else to get by, sometimes you just won't get a single crit in a fight and you're just worthless if that happens
Which is why you never really see a competitive guide for her, she's just not played at that level. I'll try to do what i can to give tips on carry play.
That said, I can give a few general tips for melee agi carries that are helpful
1. Tranquil boots are almost required in lane if you're getting any sort of pressure, they can just let you completely survive the lane and help you sustain in farming jungle camps later too. If you're not getting like any pressure, just rush that bfury, the faster you use it, the faster it farms
2. If you feel like you're taking a lot of harass in lane from rightclicks, buy poorman's shield. Its 100% worth it 100% of the time
3. Yes, battlefury is pretty much required on PA, because of the aforementioned farming. It also lets you cleave crits later in the game, which can be pretty amazing for damage. Pairing her with a Magnus on the team can be absolutely brutal. RP + Empowered PA = lots of death, fast.
4. Learn to use the stifling dagger to farm from a significant range in lane, its a great way to scavenge out farm even in a tough lane.
5. Bkb will almost never come first for Mortred unless you've gotten completely crushed in early game. I guess if at around the 20 minute mark getting the bfury is just a lost cause, then yeah, its probably better to grab BkB and like, a manta or something similar, drums are also pretty much good on any carry if you're having trouble.
I think thats all I've got.. Mort's pretty simple.

The real problem with PA is that the enemy team buys a blademail and you one-shot yourself

In that case, I think they need to buff her... She is so cool to use...

i don't think she deserves a buff, she is actually really powerfull BUT, fragile.

also on kunkka, hit a creep, they have the lowest armor

When should I get lifesteal on SF? (or never)

Yes, there is a built in mechanic where people who afk for a few minutes automatically take an abandon and make the game safe to leave. I believe it is based on whether or not you have received any XP in the last few minutes. That said, there are obvious ways to bypass that mechanic. When I notice people doing it I just end up reporting them for ability misuse or something and specify the reason in the notes.

I think maelstorm is a viable alternative to battlefury for boosting farm speed on PA. Although PA is typically played as some big late game carry (which she frankly sucks at), there's plenty of midgame builds available like drum/vlads/deso etc.
