Tranquils + aquila will give you more than enough regen to run around tracking and shurikening everything in sight, along with a few tower dives if you feel like you can pull it off - a bottle + phase can be a totally good substitute for tranqs as well as giving some awesome damage, but only if you have the ability to rune control. If your mid has shitty rune control (drow, invoker, etc, or they just suck at it) bottle is frequently your best bet, if not go for tranquils or urn and aquila to fill your health regen needs.

My build is generally phase boots --> drums ---> deso / MKB / BKB etc. you can opt for bottle, but honestly your supports should be the ones healing you with arcanes and urns or mek. you shouldnt be losing so much hp/mana every time you pick someone off, because its a pick off. its understandable if you solo killed them, but if its a gank then i dont see why youd need to regen so often. unless youre getting like multiple ganks off in a very short amount of time.

Bottle is a really good option even if your mid already has one and is controlling the runes. Just learn how to bottle crow.

Hello, I'm a new player to Dota 2, and I have hardly played. I've played maybe 4 solo games w/bots, including the one "campaign" level, and maybe 3 online bot matches. I've been hovering around Ursa and Doom but I've seen many other good play styles, I was just wondering if there is anything I could do to improve my capabilities as a gamer. From what I have heard Dota 2 has a very, how would you say, violent community and I don't want to join a PvP match and be the worst player on the losing team...... so any help would be greatly appreciated.

@dorkrod: To develop, read some of the guides like this: http://www.purgegamers.com/welcome-to-dota-you-suck#.UTgQIZarnTo. Get an idea of what each hero does (how dangerous are these guys on the lane?), so that even if you are overly defensive, you dont totally loose the lane. Try to get a general idea of strategy, roles and picks (advanced) via watching matches, dont be the guy who picks the fifth carry, but be the support who buys the courier. In general, playing a ranged hero is easier in the lane.
It's pretty much inevitable to be the worst player in your first pub, and it's completely impossible to play dota 2 on a low level without being flamed. That doesnt mean that these two have something to do with each other. Most of the time one player of the loosing team will play the blame game, where he gets extremely mad because he lost in a computer game and insults s.o. else (noob, retard,...), often without any apparent reason except for needing a sacrificial lamb to protect himself from his low self-esteem. Ignore him, analyze realistically why you have lost, ask yourself what you could have done better and go next. Communicate much, especially during the picking phase, 3/4 of the other players in your team usually have a brain, although sometimes they need to be pointed in the right direction. Dont fear pubs, the matchmaking does a decent job at low level.
On the side: Playing with friends is way better than playing with randoms.

bottle on bh in pubs is terrible. please dont listen to firebolt and make your teammates rage at you while you do nothing with a bottle and takes up crow time. get drums instead.
|
uh bottle in pubs is fine as long as you aren't bottle crowing constantly, even if you don't have rune control in fact you don't need to bottle crow or control runes at all to make bottle worth it it's 600 gold to add 210, or around 50%, to your mana pool
|
I cant live without bottle on BH. That mana regen is just needed without a doubt.

Does Shadow Fiends aura effect towers?

I tend to skip on tier 1 items a lot (null talisman, wraith band, bracer) but I know that occasionally it's good to get 1 (or even 2). I'm honestly just curious about the situations where it is better to get one of them rather than just try to rush your first item. Thinking along the lines of Broodmother, Puck, QoP, Nyx at least, I'm never honestly sure about this one.
Bracer(s) for supports obviously. Other than that I find that unless I'm building into drums or Aquila the only situation where I consider completing a bracer or wraith band is if I happen to make a mistake and die early when I'm mid. Like if you die at level 5-6 you complete one or two of those items as a means to catch up rather than letting the opponent have a chance of snowballing on you. It's perfectly fine to get that initial pair of Slippers or a Mantle for the early level advantage and just sell it later.

If you are shutdown quite hard and are forced to go 4 shuriken build bottle is a cheap and effective way of getting regen.

Any reason you would turn off the aura on Radiance?

Guys, I need some help to play with kunkka, I really like his skillset but I sux with him. He seems to fade late game, he farms well but he has such a shitty agi gain, low armor but no armor item really fits him well.

If you dont want to be a one hit wonder, grab an ac

2 Situations that have actually happened
1: Against Morphling and SD or DS you can turn it off until after the opponent makes a copy of you, then toggle it back on 2. When playing against Nyx so he cant just ult -> carapace for for free stun -> GGU (for heroes such as weaver)

This isn't exactly strategy, but if you change any of the 5 members on your "Team" does it reset the team's match-making rating and make you do placements all over again?
