Why exactly that is needed is manifold, but in short it's because the map is asymmetric and Roshan is much closer to Dire.

Because all the recipe does is improve HP regen by 1 and increase the damage block mechanic. And the damage block comes from a 250 gold item out of 2250 investment. For a recipe, that´s abysmal. You can get almost the same results by just buying a RoH and a vitbooster without the stout shield.

Not that it is good enough to warrant the cost.

It's now underrated for fighting under towers (as in it was always good, but now people assume it's worthless)

He is viable with the right player and the right team but not as reliable as other carry heros. He can become a beast with good positioning and tidebringer in late game. Torrent and ghost ship are realtivly hard to hit(at least for me) unless you have proper set up (Shadow Demon, Darkseer) or higher level in x. His problems are that he has no real escape mecanism and his ability to farm is not the best. You will push your lane with tidebringer. So over all i would say it is harder to make him work then other heros but that does not mean hes usless. He is also a great comeback hero once he farmed a crit and you get a lucky splash hit. Items: Maybe replace bfury with deadalus, and add some tanky items depending on the enemies line up. But everything you named is viable on him im my view.

I doubt there's a command built in for alert's given they haven't been around forever, but I could very likely be wrong
