PS: Earthshaker - aghanim's scepter or shiva's guard after blink dagger? You do more damage with shiva's after Echo, (versus aghanim's 75 more echo damage), but I don't know if you gain anything more from aghanim's than only that damage.
Thank you.
Aghs doesn't simply add 75 damage, it makes every hero hit by the ult to count as 2 units, I think, so a ult that hits 3 heroes or more should do more damage than Shiva's. Shiva's has the great bonus of slowing everything around it as well though.
For the stats, it's as stated before, the item itself gives stats, the same amount every hero would get, even if his ult isn't affected by it.

ok thank you, you two.
I really struggle with earthshaker supporting. I have the biggest problems gaining blink dagger since I can't even level and farm gold. I know this is normal, but until I get dagger I can't help initiating fights
Btw shoud ES be on hard or easy lane?

With Ult Scepter now giving Meepo clones more stats, should Meepo get the ult scepter earlier in his build (assuming his old build is even viable anymore...is there a standard btw? I get mixed results when I looked it up) and get more items that give +stats?

Generally he should go to the easy lane, but you could run him in an offensive trilane in the hardlane or as an offensive duo with ancient apparition for instance. ES doesn't have any of the tools needed to be an offlaner.

Yes but, you can't farm on easy lane with puling neutral creep.. With being on hard lane(longer) you can pull creep and at least farm something, but on easy lane I can't see stuff to farm, it's almost impossible since I leave all last hits to carry. If there are 2 range heroes or 2 stun heroes on our easy lane its almost impossible to either farm for my carry, because they double stun him and finish him or use range stuff..
I can't deny, I can't farm, I feel totally useless on easy lane.
My biggest problem early is to get Arcane boots and later dagger.
My gameplay goes like this:
Hard lane: My carry is farming if it is possible(no range harass, no risk for dying at lvl 2-3 if they are not agressive), and I farm with pulling neutral mobs. With my first money I buy speed bots, and than Arcane.. I try to use fissure if my carry wants to kill someone or if someone comes from middle to gank..
After fissure I return farming neutral mobs.
Is that correct?
Easy lane: No mobs, no idea what to do.. Fissure eats half of mana, If i spam fissure I am oom in 2 seconds... Usualy if I am on easy lane my levels don't go up for 30 years.. Last time I played on easy lane I was level 9 on 30 minutes no blink dagger... I know I am beginner, but I want to know. I don't have problem with range supporters like keeper, lich.. Mana is not problem here. But ES is really tricky.. Mana goes fast oom, and you are melee can't even come close to casters so I can only stand like stupid and gain no money nor levels..
What about items? Directly to Arcane boots, or should I get magic stick or ring regen before?
Every forum I read people are saying there is not chance to farm as ES, but how the hell can you get that blink dagger for fight initiations? And if you can't farm will you go into fights as lvl 8 ES while enemy carries are lvl 17-18.. It's joke.
I told to myself that I will with no question try to master ES, because it is challenge for me now and I want to learn proper gmaeplay with this hero.
Thanks for reading and help.

It sounds like you have the easy and hard lanes mixed up. The easy lane is the bottom lane for radiant and the top lane for dire. You should be getting the farm from the creep pulls as ES since he absolutely needs it to be effective. If you're playing in the hard lane you should be getting assist gold from kills and rushing arcanes for more fissures to secure more kills.
The biggest problem with playing ES in matchmaking games is that your team is not going to give you the farm he needs to be effective. There comes a time in the game (like say 20 minutes) when ES should have the top farm priority if he still doesn't have boots/wand/blink because he is just useless without them.
If you're still level 8 when the enemy carry is 16+ there are far greater problems at hand though. You need to be leeching exp a lot sooner than that so your'e not that far behind. You should be attending most of the aggression as a support (this should get you a bunch of gold from assists ideally). Just don't bait your team into being over aggressive and don't leave the carry you're guarding if they could die while you're absent. Most people write off support as the easy role, but it incredibly hard to play well. I recommend reading the support guide if you haven't already as well.

Hey is there any reason not to constantly keep a range indicator around your guy in dota? Instructions on how to do it are in this video: + Show Spoiler +
It would make it easy to keep track of attack ranges, vision ranges, etc...it would also help you keep track of your hero in teamfights where things get hectic. Why doesn't everyone have it on all the time?
Also would changing autoexec.cfg get updated to the steamcloud or would i have to redo it for every computer i have?
|
personally i didnt know that was possible it doesnt seem bad necessarily to have, should be useful to a lot of new players but i honestly wouldnt use it because i dont need it and it would just look distracting and if you happen to play on a different computer redoing those settings might get annoying also if you play with that on all the time you probably wont be improving much because youre relying on something to tell you what you can and cant do. good players wont need it because they already know what the limits are for their heroes, and to get to that stage is to just play a lot and gain experience so from the learning perspective, i guess it kinda seems like cheating
|
If you swap with someone, then they will also have the ring around them. Kind of annoying.

AA suicide solo vs Drow with a Support Spectre (don't ask...).
Viable in any way? Was forced to take this lane yesterday and got absolutely annihilated with almost every creep from both sides being denied/last hit by Drow. Was totally stumped for what to do, could hardly get near the creep line half the time.

Was curious, which heroes are always/never played by the pro players and why ?

Do sentries block neutral spawns?

If you place them close enough, yes. Since they have drastically reduced vision afaik, should be literally ontop of the spawn location or near it.

I play HoN (I'll play DotA when it has a linux client), but I'm sure the concepts are the same.
How do you punish people who pull the creeps into the neutral camp early game? They just deny you experience and there's nothing (I know) to do about it. Also, similarly, how do you punish junglers?
|
Just go fucking kill them(For junglers) And just go steal the last hits with AOE or block the spawn(For pullers)

First and foremost, either buy a set of wards or ask a support to get you a pair and ward the camps. (Removing the spawns) If that fails then unless you're an invisible hero and they have no detection, most you can do is snipe one or two neutral creeps and invis away. Otherwise in the Dota meta, not many people are devoted into the off lane. If you really want to punish both, wards + aggressive tri-lane. You have enough people to still fight in the lane, and send someone to attack their jungler. Middle ganks are effective too in hurting the enemy jungler.

Vision has nothing to do with blocking spawns, it's purely their location. They work the exact same way as standard observers, only that observers last 2x as long.
