vlads is gotten cause of the pushing power it provides the illusions dont benefit from the vlads but they carry the aura, meaning creeps do benefit from vlads even when the hero isnt there | ||

However, Vlad's can still be situationally a good item for Illusion heroes, as by lategame, a large portion of your damage still comes from your main body and not your illusions. I usually start with Mantle and 3 GG branch then turned them into Wand and Threads. Then Force Staff, BKB and Agh which is the core I was told. But after that Im stuck, I tried to get more Int (Sheepstick, RoA) but I found him to be very squishy and can be killed really quick in a team fight. If I build Heart it would probably give him a little more lasting power but would not be beneficial to his Ulti | ||

One is faster to develop into fighting items, the other is slower, but is also necessary if your team does not have a Mek carrier because the Mek is invaluable for your team. Faster: Tranquils->Janggo->Force Staff Slower: Treads->Mek->Force Staff Wand as appropriate in either build After that, BKB and Sheepstick are both appropriate choices (BKB for straight-up teamfight power, Sheepstick for chasing power and damage-dealing ability with more Intelligence). Late-game your choices include: - Shiva's (smoothest armor source for OD to buy) - Ghost Scepter (good for fighting right-click carries, as you can still manual-cast orb through Ghost Scepter) - Heart (not just the HP, but by lategame, Tranquil's or Mek's HP regen doesn't cut it anymore--this lets you top up HP between fights, since your mana is virtually infinite at that point anyway) - Assault Cuirass (not as good as Shiva's for you personally, but carries a very high team benefit, particularly if your team has other physical DPS carries) - Refresher Orb (as a 6th item just go all out for this and double ult) Aghanim's hasn't been all that good on him for quite a while (it was much better for him a long time ago when it built out of Mystic Staff + Soul Booster). Practically speaking by the time you'd consider it, Refresher would probably be better overall anyway. EDIT: Also note that there's an annoying bug that Essence Aura doesn't proc properly off Tranquil Boots right now (it's supposed to). | ||

So many heroes can shut you down so hard and everyone just focus fires an illusion. Before I knew it I was feeding a natures prophet so hard it was embarrassing. He just teleports, traps a clone focuses it down and Im dead. What should I be doing and what items should I be getting? | ||

Liquid fire got a massive aoe buff, ice path is now good (the spell before was just horrible) and I think his E can slow tower rate of fire by 50%? Its around there. With jakiro in a aoe comp there is a chance that you can get there whole team in your ultimate it does like 1000 damage if they stand in it for 7 seconds, thats insane damage. Think of enigma woods with dark seer solo hard and jakiro all on the same team. There is a chance for a massive wombo combo right there. I have not watched alot of competitive games recently (busy) but I think it is just EG using him? | ||
