If you can lane safe against him depens a bit on the lane you´re on. If you´re both solo mid, BS isn´t any kind of danger to you usually, but it can be hard to stop him from lasthitting and regaining health. If you´re in a side lane, BS doesn´t add much to to the killpotential of the lane either. If you have a competent partner you should be able to kill him or his lanepartner before lvl 6. Can´t do anything though if your team continues to die to rupture.

You shouldn't have a problem 1v1 mid OD vs BS. Astral him whenever Astral is not on CD. Last hit and deny normally, throw a few harass attacks at him. He can't kill you if he has no mana (unless 2 or 3 of his teammates decide to gank you). TP is also Bloodseeker's worst enemy.

Hello, I am sorry if this has been asked here before as I am unable to find in search but I have a few questions about the hero Keeper of the Light.
Q. Sorry if this sounds nooby but what is KotL's role in team fights (Those 5v5 clashes)?. I know you should ulti, try to illuminate, mana leak, blinding light and stuff but the illuminates seem to hardly hit and KotL himself never seems to be able to dish out any damage.
Q2. When utilizing the skill, Recall, when would be the best time/situation to use it and for whom should it be used? (The carry? another ganker?)
|
kotl blows at teamfights but yeah illuminate manaleak someone blinding light someone, that's about all you can do recall people into teamfights or into pushes
|
But DON'T take someone into die or if they will do more good at their splitpush than in the team fight. Take the Tide to the fight but not the furion taking T4's when you are defending T2's. It does take experience/knowledge to make that call however.

in a 5v5 teamfight hitting illuminate shuoldnt be that hard at least it shouldnt miss everyone kotl also gets a lot of farm through illuminate, meaning he carries the mek and other support items. (possibly force staff, more items if you got some more farm) but other than that he doesnt really do much in teamfights best to use him as a pusher/ganker with a travels

You win teamfights as KotL by winning before you need to teamfight.

Hexing void, in dota 1 it silenced/removed the backtrack. What about in dota 2, I think it does not remove backtrack. Any that is sure on this question?

Q1 - Your role like you said is to try hit a 5 man illuminate, mana leak there spammable spell caster or there carry that you know your going to kill but can blink away or something (so hes got no mana when you go in for kill) and try and get a 5 man blind. Overall quite hard to hit all of it but its really effective when you can.
Q2 - Lets just say someone on the other side of the map is dying to a 3 man gank or something use the recall on him and hope that the enemy auto attack's are not in range so you can save him. Or if you get ganked of 2 supports in the woods or something mid game recall your mid if your 100% sure he can double kill them or your carry if hes fed.

For recall, you can also use it to split push, as in you are defending/camping their base with 4 while the 5th split pushes and if a teamfight is about to begin you recall him back to your team.

So I know that this is a very broad question, and apologies if there's no simple answer, but when you can't win a 5v5 fight in the mid/late game, what are some general approaches for getting back into the game? I hear "farm" a lot but I don't see why the other team can't do that at the same time and maintain the advantage.

another option in the late game is to try and pick off a lone member of the enemy team and then force a 5v4 fight as fast a possible.

I hear "farm" a lot but I don't see why the other team can't do that at the same time and maintain the advantage. There's an inherent tradeoff that occurs in mid-lategame team movement: - Spread out and farm the map efficiently -> exposes individual team members to ganks - Always stay as 5 and push -> can't farm the map efficiently when everyone is together
If the enemy team chooses to do the former, you can look for opportunities to catch important team members and gank them. If they do the latter, you can generally shove lanes/stall pushes in a way that you are catching up while they are together (e.g. split pushing and forcing creep waves into towers forces them to either defend or lose that farm).

If you can´t win a 5v5 teamfight, then most of the time you can win the small engagements instead. Spread out over the, place some key wards and avoid fights whenever you see them coming. Pressure the lanes without committing to a towerfight. If they keep running around as 5 man ball, you will outfarm and outexp them. This necessitates though that you can win small engagements. If you can´t win any fight(however unlikely), then you obviously lost sometime earlier.

Generally you always need a hero that have good enough farm and strong enough to kill their 3 weakest heroes in 1v1 situation, and let him constantly pressure 1 lane. a) If the enemy send 1 of 3 weakest heroes back to defend, you can easily kill off him and continue pushing. They have to send at least 2 heroes back to defend, which will slow down the push. b) If the enemy send a carry back to defend, then needless to say, they can't push either.
It's ok to try to farm, but what your team actually don't want to be behind is XP, due to what I call, "gold gap" is much bigger than "XP gap" For example, the average XP needed to level up is 1200, 1300, so if your whole team is behind 12,000 XP, that means your whole teams is behind ~10 level. That is 10 levels of various spells (level 4 spells, ultimate spells) which cause significant impact in the team fight. "XP gap" is too low. On the other hand, if your team is behind 10,000 gold, that is fine. 10,000 doesn't really make significant impact as a whole. The other team may have 3 carries, and each of them have 3000 gold advantage, but 3000 is no butterfly, daedalus, manta,... they still need quite a way to go to get those items, and that is the "gap" that put your team on equal feet as them, provided that your team maintain equal "XP gap"
