or probably get it at level 7 after maxed necromastery ? The majority of the time you will max Raze at 7, Necromastery at 8. The difference between rank 3 and rank 4 Raze is too noticeable for you to skip it for ult. Not just for fighting heroes, but rank 3 Raze cannot kill melee creeps in 2 Razes, while rank 4 Raze can. oh right, this makes a lot of sense for maxing out raze first so next question is, Lothar or Blink dagger for SF ? I notice that casting ultimate wont cancel lothar invisibility while its channeling but then you wont get the backstab bonus damage, would be useful when enemy dont have detection and suddenly an ultimate just appear right in the middle of them
If you wanna be hyhy then go lothar after all you're singaporean as well. Either is fine but bkb is a must after that. Because bkb dispells dust so if you ww they dust you just pop bkb and you're in the clear unless they ward or gem.

How do you deal with DS as a melee during laning phase? It feels like a better idea and more fun to go farm in enemy fountain than lane against DS.
Also what do people usually do as supports after the initial laning phase ends and theres been a team fight or two but your carries go back to heavy farming. Feels like I'm too vulnerable for ganks if I wander around solo trying to get some farm but feels like I'm doing nothing if I just stick with a carry.

You don't. You creep pull if possible and set up ganks to kill him since he's inevitably going to be pushing pretty hard with ion shell (since I'm assuming that's what you're having trouble with). He is the best anti-push in the game though for a reason, you just don't beat that as (most) melee heroes. Honestly the only way is to go fucking kill him or go somewhere else in my experience.
It depends on what kind of support. If I'm an initiator or something like Earthshaker I continue to farm in a safer lane. Otherwise go keep your carry alive or another important person alive. Your job as a hard support (which I'm assuming you're speaking about) is to buy wards and use your spells to keep people alive. You don't need farm.

pretty simple question - why do people turn off Ring of Vesalis/Aquallis etc? from what google search showed me it's so that you wouldn't push your lane but I don't see how turning off the ring helps in that

If you toggle it off, it only affects heroes, so your creeps won't have more armor than the enemy creeps. If your creeps have 2 armor more than opposing creeps, they're taking ~10% less damage per hit, which means your wave will push forward slowly since their creeps will die more quickly.

ah - I thought turning the ring off made it so that it doesn't affect other heroes, didn't know that it was regarding creeps.
That's...actually pretty important, thanks for the help

Does shadowblade bonus damage apply to weaver's geminate attack?

Anyone got a decent build for sniper?
Especially in towards the late game I'm unsure of the sort of items I should get.
|
treads wand (optional rob) > lifesteal + yasha > dps
good: hotd, mom, thunderhammer, mkb, crit, manta okay: lothars, bfly, rapier, satanic, deso, jango workable: orchid, diffusal, ac, skadi, sny, abyssal, bkb
grab a hotd or mom early on so you can farm the jungle (and stack ancients if you go hotd) yasha is nice so you can position yourself in teamfights. jango helps as well during teamfights if anything comes toward you sprint in the opposite direction mkb is important later on so you can hit things uphill, plus the ministun every hit is nice just stack damage, buying survivability shouldn't be high priority since you should almost never get hit by spells manta is sometimes nice if you need to survive things, but it doesn't add much damage

Depending on your skill level, (play vs good) you will need the cheap fast boots, tranquility boots. And its all about position. As a sniper u will not give anything in teamfights. Untill lvl 6, when u can take care of heroes that walks around and tries to juke in the fog.
Now we come to the farm.
IF you have freefarm. And there is no invis heroes in your team. Go for lothars. (if there heroes that is invis, it increases the chance of the enemy team carrying detection). After you have lothars go for the late build. If you have a nice tank hero in your team, mjölnir/maelstrom is nice. And buff the with the lightning shield. But dont forget the stats items. Sniper dies pretty fast...
Mjölnir/maelstrom, Manta, Eye of skadi, Satanic, Crit, and get boots of travel later on. this kills all heroes 1 on 1. The skills with sniper is not always the items. It's to be able to predict a gank, to make a tp on the right fight and to use ur ulti well. Then for late its all about position, you have the longest range in game. And your ulti only has 10 sec cd.
Edit: I read the guy above me. I don't all the items he gets. Remember, when u go lothars u want to stack the dmg first. Lothats means that u want to go out of a fight fast. If u dont go lothars, get the yasha first. It gives movementspeed that stacks well with the tranquility boots. Manta and MoM, dont ever go that. MoM shows the enemy who is the real hero. Those two items cancels each other out so to speak. Desso and mkb is items I forgot completely. mkb is good if someones has evasion or has the spell Laser (tinkers). MKB makes missing impossible.

Does MKB cancel out voids backtrack?

No, it does not. MKB counters evasion, but Backtrack is different from that.

So if I went OD mid and enemy picked Bloodseeker, is there a safe way to lane vs him? I had a really bad game (straight after having a good game as OD) and although the BS was destroying my entire team, I was having a lot of trouble early on. Once he hit 6 and had Silence + Rapture, I just kept getting caught out.

keep astraling him and outlasthit him with a billion damage finish your treads fast so he can't 1v1 you with rupture+silence grab mek or bkb right after so you don't get caught out as easily

+ Show Spoiler +Couldn't resist. You should crush him way before that. You outdamage him (=outlasthit) and build an advantage that way. BS is a hero that relies on winning lane to start steamrolling the enemy team. OD is pretty much the best 1v1 laner in the game. Just obliterate him.
