"ok we won the fight, we have to get rax/tower/rosh now". then we said "stop chasing please. we should get the tower". what lead to "so we won a huge teamfight 4-0 and then we lost 2 towres and didnt get any objective at all. please listen". still happened again. its not like they are "special" or something. they just run like little kids when they ate too much candy. they seem not to be able to listen or just ignore cuase they maybe think "whatever - we won the teamfight - we can do this again - this game is won". but well their carrys got farm after that and slowly we lost control over the game.

What's the point? is this simply to be approved to get into the game? What % of sets make it through? Those that don't make it, do they just do all the work for nothing? Depends on what stage it's in. If it hasn't been approved then yes, they are promoting it so it gets votes so it gets approved. But even if a set gets approved it doesn't necessarily actually make it into the game because Valve is in control of when items are released, unless it's an approved item that is part of a tournament bundle. Those still need to be approved but if they are approved then Valve will either release it automatically with a ticket or will generally release the tournament's chest/set at the appropriate time. Some artists complain about this, even ones who have been quite successful, because they get a smaller percentage when they are working with an organization. If an artist releases a set that is, say, one out of six in a chest, they'll get 25%/6 of the chest's sales. I think (but am not sure) they do slightly higher percentages if yours is the rare/etc set but it's still out of a 25% pie. As you may know, TOs by default get 25% of ticket revenue etc. but they have to forego up to 12.5 points in order to get the pot share from 0 to 25% (Valve matches). Whatever the TO's share is, that is the pool from which the artist can get a cut. If an artist gets to release a set independently, they get the full 25%. There's a whole lot more than this but I hope this gives you a basic idea. As for how many sets make it through I have no idea. To give you an idea of how bad the problem is with a set being approved but not put in the game, this godlike Juggernaut set has been up for a year and approved a long time ago. Just in limbo. I believe this Bulldog druid set was approved some time ago as well. Where is it? It is a mystery. I'm not sure whether this bloodseeker set was approved or not but it's been up for several months and is pretty high quality. If you look at just LiveWorkshop stuff they have a TON of unreleased stuff for one reason or another. The primary guy is Manny Lamas but in fact a team works on these sets and they have trouble getting high quality stuff released. You can imagine how hard it is for some artists to roll the dice on making workshop sets. According to Anuxi a lot of artists are just bailing on it because of the many factors that have made doing workshop items a very poor gamble.

I've read Valve press release about how a lot of creators can work full time and earn good money from their economy, but this seems quite cut throat to me. How do people generally feel about this "industry"? I'd assume that only creators from developing countries can sustain their standards of living with this kind of work.

Ah well in that case, the point does remain that some artists do make quite a lot of money (Manny lives in SF which is crazy expensive) but it's a terrible thing to try and break into right now.
