He's certainly not a sand king who *must* dedicate substantial time to getting a blink in order to maintain utility through midgame. But realistically all supports these days do well with items. The power of utility items like force, blink, urn, medallion, and aghs (on most heroes) is just so high.

But you should always do is ward/deward because you having more/better Intel than your opponents is always a good choice, but your ward positioning will change based on the stage of the game and what your teams goal is. If your team is looking to bank an opposition carry or push towers early you will need aggressive wards in enemy territory, but if your team is looking to hold out until late game by letting a hard carry farm defensive wards in your own areas to ensure safe farm are better. Stacking and babysitting are also good in games where your team aims to take the game later so that your carries can be at their strongest, but doing this in a game where your team needs to snowball or take lots of early towers will not be effective.

Generally, I'm only stacking, warding and wandering around in case a core get caught out. Try to allways keep the smokes sold out no matter what support you play, smokes force you to create opportunities, even at low levels. Every russian or peruvian knows that when ur smoked you are gonna attempt killing stuff. No need to communicate, even the dumb and dumber understand that being smoked means action. Well, maybe im wrong but in my pubs im the only support that buy smokes ever, and i try to gank and that sort o shit you see on the tiwtch yo! ![]()

Generally, I'm only stacking, warding and wandering around in case a core get caught out. Both of the above is good advice. Smokes make a huge difference, so does focus on the vision game. In any game where there is invis, making sure dust and sentries are available is a huge deal. Just remember to think about the difference between dust and sentries. Persistent detection in a fixed area is sometimes far more advantageous than reactively dusting (and vice-versa). Best example of this is taking rosh against a Mirana team. If you don't have at least one sentry outside the pit you are a fool. I mention this because supports get this wrong all the time. I ask specifically for sentries and they buy dust. Or vice-versa. Now, sometimes the support is right and the core is wrong, so it's not about some hierarchy, it's the fact that the situation clearly called for one over the other and the support acted like it was interchangeable. As a hard support this is one of the top things you can get right to make a difference. I don't know if there is a thread dedicated to vision and detection but it seems like there should be. It's one of the most important subjects in Dota tbh. That's why the point of "place your wards according to the situation" is so important. Sometimes you're going to want a ward just for a specific fight. And that's where experience and understanding of the game is irreplaceable: correctly anticipating where vision will make the most difference either for the stage of the game or for a specific fight you know is coming makes you a huge asset.

We're either being eased off orbs to slowly check for balance issues along the way or we're being eased out of them into a more distinct set of restrictions.

Not that anyone is trying it, but I have no idea how he would be able to make himself relevant with standard offlane farm. Sure he has an escape but thinking longer into the game I cant see how it could be good.

Thx! I initially posted the question because I want to try to write a small blogseries about trenchy drafting in turbostyle (less then 10 lines of text per blog/draft). I dont know how its gonna turn out, even if its a not well recieved blog i atleast have my drafts sorted out which i can use in my own games. Which website do you get the hero icons from?
