Is that legit or just niche? Given his item and skill progression he was going for hard carry with emphasis on ult for fighting (MoM good for farm + Omni, stats good for farm + omni, crit [first maxed skill after Omni] with MoM good for farm + omni). It's a little more extreme than the way I've run Jugg recently but yeah the basic idea is that you farm fast and Omni hard.

Well one, as has come up in here before, it's fine to ask a hero-specific question in this thread (until mods decide otherwise) so don't feel bad and b) it pre-dates the patch and that game so it's more about the *type* of build he was doing (among others) but not that specific build. Which was pretty XTREME. So no apologies needed, just letting you know there's a lot more discussion over there.

Interestingly though, given differences in how shared vision works in DotA 1 and DotA 2, Track/Amp Damage on Aghanim's Night Stalker or KotL gives flying vision over them as per their Aghanim's upgrades (DotA 1 Track/Amp Damage don't get this benefit).

Is it better to use Finger (or other big nuke) on a hero who is clearly about to about to be killed or should it be used on a tankier hero to get them down quicker? Or is it purely a decision of the value of the hero: use on a carry before a support.

I play a bit of Lion and this question always comes to mind with him and any other heros with a big Nuke. Is it better to use Finger (or other big nuke) on a hero who is clearly about to about to be killed or should it be used on a tankier hero to get them down quicker? Or is it purely a decision of the value of the hero: use on a carry before a support. Sometimes taking out a support early in an engagement is the best thing you can do. Or it could be securing the death of the carry. It totally depends on team composition and situation, what cooldowns are up and what is down. For example if you were facing a Lion instead of playing him, if you can secure a kill on him before he gets off finger that is a valuable kill. Psychology is also a factor. Even though people know that certain cooldowns exist, it is often highly effective to draw them into a situation where they - as individuals and sometimes consequently as a team - overextend so the spell has the maximum effect. As such, depending on the tactical situation (your ability to survive or get into position to finger an enemy at the optimal time may be in question), it is nearly always better to save finger until it is either lethal or close to it. Finger should generally secure a kill. It can also be used to repel aggression if you don't think you can actually kill that enemy but believe you can scare them off at a vital time (protecting your carry or your rax, etc). These, and many more things are all are factors you will want to take into consideration. However, quick synthesis of the tactical and strategic situation only comes with experience. Lion was my first favorite hero and he is pretty strong in the right hands, and part of that is definitely knowing when to use Finger, so it's good you're thinking about it, but there is definitely no simple answer.
