Maybe a spoiler system that sorts by Str/Agi/Int, it seems a bit unruly in this state

I think alphabetically works well. It is how they are displayed in the default selection screen in-game as well.
Good idea OP.

I think it will be nice if people can 'request' guides here. If you would be interested in reading a full guide for a particular hero, post here naming the hero you are interested in, and hopefully someone who has too much free time on their hands might write one for you. This is basically to help potential writers gauge what the interest levels are for each hero. I'd personally prefer to write a guide for a popular hero.
With this in mind I've currently added a little 'Requested Guides' section at the bottom of the list. If this doesn't take off I may remove it. We'll see ~

Great idea! Glad to see my guide on there even though I STILL haven't updated it... I'll do it eventually I promise!

Only Teamliquid guides I assume? (lots of good guides on playdota)

I WAS gonna do a full broodmother guide, but I'm too lazy.
Broodmother Miniguide
Role: Semi-carry / Midgame carry / Split pusher Lane: Preferably solo offlane, can solo mid.
PLEASE don't pick vs Earthshaker / Sand King / Windrunner / Clockwerk, they will feed on your spiderlings and rape you (also sometimes you get douchebag AAs that farm your spiderlings with ulti)
+ Show Spoiler [Starting Items] +Soul Ring Recipe + Tangoes + Salve + 3x Branches (fastest SR) Soul Ring Recipe + Tangoes + Stout / QB + Branches (next fastest SR) Ring of Protection + Tangoes + Salve + Clarity + 2x Branches -> build fast Aquila
+ Show Spoiler [Skills] +Spawn Spiderlings - 300dmg Nuke, spawns 1-3 spiderlings if target dies within 2 seconds
Spin Web - lays down a permanent web that breaks trees and gives brood massive HP regen + movespeed
Incapacitating Bite - passive orb that slows and gives miss chance (up to 40%)
Insatiable Hunger - 14 second attack damage / lifesteal buff, short cooldown
+ Show Spoiler [Skill Build] ++ Show Spoiler [Faster Pushing / Antipush / D Tower] + 1 Spin Web 2 Spawn Spiderlings 3 Spin Web 4 Spawn Spiderlings 5 Spawn Spiderlings 6 Insatiable Hunger 7 Spin Web 8 Spin Web 9 Spawn Spiderlings 10 Incapacitating Bite 11 Insatiable Hunger 12 Incapacitating Bite 13 Incapacitating Bite 14 Incapacitating Bite 15 Stats 16 Insatiable Hunger 17+ Stats
+ Show Spoiler [Unthreatened Farming/Pushing] + 1 Spin Web 2 Spawn Spiderlings 3 Spin Web 4 Spin Web 5 Spawn Spiderlings 6 Spawn Spiderlings 7 Spin Web 8 Insatiable Hunger 9 Incapacitating Bite (or Spawn Spiderlings) 10 Incapacitating Bite 11 Insatiable Hunger 12 Incapacitating Bite 13 Incapacitating Bite 14 Spawn Spiderlings (Incapacitating Bite) 15 Stats 16 Insatiable Hunger 17+ Stats
+ Show Spoiler [Item Build] +Rush Soul Ring, get Aquila if you want + Treads. Personally I skip Aquila and just rush Orchid, since all the pieces come in small parts and the only thing you're missing out on is some extra armor for your spiderlings. PMS if you got stout is okay too.
Orchid -> BKB if you expect to solo push / farm enemy jungle for a long time BKB -> Orchid if you expect to teamfight early / push as 5
Rushing midas after treads for farming Brood is an option if you plan to be pushing/farming for a while, but I don't like it.
You want attack speed, so your next item choice would be Butterfly or AC (both give good survivability). After that, MKB is a good option if your enemy carry has Butterfly / is Faceless Void, or Manta Style because attack speed and it can purge dust and helps with pushing / teamfights. Daedalus works as a damage item if you already have good attack speed. Upgrading Treads to Boots of Travel in lategame is not a bad idea.
+ Show Spoiler [General Playstyle] +Against most heroes, you get to bully your opponents even if 1v2 or just flat out destroy them in a 1v1 lane. As long as you have web for invis (this means you need to be watching for enemy sentries / dust) you can safely farm and deny while poking in and out of the enemy jungle. Flatten trees everywhere so you have a safe line of sight through the jungle. You want a fast soul ring to be able to spam Spawn Spiderlings. The name of the game is SPLIT PUSHING, since often the enemy team will need to send 2-3 heroes to deal with just you while the rest of your team takes towers as 4. If they send just one, kill the guy and keep pushing (Ulti + Orchid silence = free kill on most heroes). You are not a very good lategame carry, so you best be taking rax pretty quick.
+ Show Spoiler [Notes / Tips] +- Always knock down the trees in lane that block vision of the jungle so you don't get ganked as easily. - Constantly watch your lane opponents for Sentry Wards / Dust. Never be afraid to spend money to deward, especially early game. - Spiderlings have 15% slow on attack and do a bit of poison damage. If the hero is mostly single-target, you can kill them with just spiderling surround + nuke + an autoattack or two. - Use ulti when wailing on enemy towers, takes them down much faster. - Send a spiderling or two to scout around whenever you can so you don't get ganked. - Leave spiderlings at enemy jungle camps when you leave their jungle so that the camps don't spawn. - Use spiderlings to block Pudge hook / sacred arrow / Slark pounce / etc. - Spin web at key points like ancient camps, rosh, etc. b/c it gives you a single point of vision. - DON'T FEED BROODLINGS

For the record, that isn't my intention. I just felt that they weren't coming quickly enough even though it had been some months since TL adopted Dota2. I also remember how useful well-written guides were when I was new to dota many years ago, and decided to start writing them along with my stream.
Which guide needs rewriting? I can hassle the writer to update it etc.

I'd love for someone to write a Tiny guide. Too much varying information around the web on how his combo works, item build for carry Tiny, etc. Can only trust TL <3

Hmm I wrote a clockwerk guide a week or so ago. Was thinking of working on it a bit more before publishing it.
My only hesitation with doing so was that i didn't feel that I was at a skill level that is adequate enough to publish guides telling others how to play . I'm by no means pro
Perhaps someone could have a read over and edit it?

It would be awesome if the standard guides created by TorteDeLini and Co were put in the OP as an alternative the the 5-s guides. They seem pretty reliable and short.

They're a little bit outdated, but not as much as the 5-s guides (and a lot more accessible than going through steam guides looking for tdl's stuff).

I just figured the tortedelini guides might be a good replacement because they are sort of local to TL so they fit with the theme of TL guides and they are also brand spanking new.

Basically what rabid said. Torte has put in a tremendous amount of effort into those guides and they're shaping up, but at this point there are still too many of them that need improvement to make me feel comfortable listing them as the TL standard for quick guides.
I plan to work with Torte on them this weekend. Once they are all 'standard' and he has covered all the heroes, I'll probably list them in lieu of 5-s as his set is going out of date and I don't think he has time to update them.

btw firebolt you're gonna have to update the op to reflect the clockwerk guide and dazzle request ^^

I have an enchantress request. I can play chen just fine but that little deer drives me up the wall.

Are the builds still viable (except the ones which say outdated ofc)? Just looked at panda guide and it is quite old, but it seems still relevant.

Nice. Thx for the information edit: besides, on my level, it probably doesn't matter if hero is viable or not :D
