Our first game is 1am europe time on a weds / thurs morning though dammit! Vs your Kinguin brothers too! Will have to vod that at work maybe.

Im hoping they get another top 3 here mainly for points i think they should be thinking about winning this though which would be a great boost. Top 3 major into winning a minor would be a great way to end the year for us.

Kinguin looked good in the only lan event they went to this year in the perfect world masters they beat the weird Secret team without Midone 2-0 in group stage and drew 1-1 with LGD Mineski & Newbee. They then beat Vega in the first round of bracket 2-1 to then lose 2-0 to Newbee then a close 2-1 defeat to Complexity.

So it seems they know how to play but they should finish third in this group for sure.

I want to say that Kinguin looks like solid team, but EG more lost to themselfs then them. Don't banning broken meta heroes for me almost seems like test to find counter to them. Using LD in mid position. Think two teams tried at Summit and failed big time. And then Sumail played more like for fun, was good in game one but awful on VS and SF. Really could have won all games, more like they lost because of own play choices then because of Kinguin.

Haha yeah congrats to Kinguin took me two days to catch up with vods because been busy but that draft in game 3 and in game 2 from EG was utter trash man wtf was going on. Day 1 EG is really a thing still in 2017 it's hilarious.

I am only a legend 1 scrub but why would you draft a carry pottm into a 4 protect 1 medusa draft from your opponenet? Jug wasn't banned and in game 1 of the series your carry went absolutely crazy on it, isn't that more than good enough alongside an SF to just get to a stage where you beat that draft? I mean they came "close" to an extent to winning that game but sumail jumping in and dying stopped a clear rax push attempt. However just seems so weird. Game 2 draft was just lol too.

Oh well, we now have to play in a wild card tournament T_T

Wow, games vrs OG were so bad... I think drafts and midgame shotcalls are the main problems with this team, and I guess those are both on Fear. How much time will he need?

Game 2 wasn't as bad as it looked. If EG got a few plays going their way when they were 2-3k net worth behind (around Roshan), they probably would've won. But the kills didn't go their way and OG snowballed.

Good News: Only a minor.

Points are needed though which is what i was sad about, i would have said the same thing if they got top 4. Losing to Kinguin really hurt them and they should have won that series but drafting issues are so bad still.

vs OG we threw a very good game 1 because they just had awful shot calling, i don't get what they were thinking there at all. Dominate laning stage > better start running around maps hunting for kills forcing the pace for no reason at all. We should have just took all tier 1s, laned for another 2-3 minutes, then start killing people in lanes and taking towers with support ultimates aka disruptor ultimate etc. Instead we let space and time happen for s4 to get his blink so he can blink > silence everyone then they just get picked off.
Game 2 was just a huge tilt joke, pick medusa mid and then let sumail 1vs2 and get no farm and don't stack for him because they are tri laning for rtc on his carry for him to have a bad lane as well.

They just needed to play the same way from Dream League, pick your Bane/Wyvern/Ogre for Fear sit him either mid if u have good safe lane match up or sit him with rtc for 10 minutes. Oh well xD

Back to the drawing board before captains draft in a couple of weeks

There are 3 teams that figured their stuff, there are (probably) 3 more invite slots. I'm guessing Newbee is the closest one to being able to win a series against the top 3. So the teams that are right below Newbee are EG, OG, Mineski, Fnatic, Kinguin and VG.

So while EG is not in an optimal spot, they're really behind only 4 teams, they just need to click quicker than the teams in their tier.

This list is formed by my feelings and no stats to back it up btw

Yeah, I more or less agree with this.

This is a fairly "feelsy" assessment. I find that EG struggles to get any of their players in a winning position, and even if they do it never feels like a slam dunk game. When ramzees, noone, Ace, matumba, miracle get ahead, their teams seem to be able to close out the game. Also these top teams find a way to have the highest networth hero without sacrificing the other cores. Seems like in EG games if Arteezy or sumail is on top of net worth, the next 3 are on the opposite team.

So Uni is out. End of an era, but this new roster is interesting enough it might just work. I'm excited to see Sumail switch to offlane, and possibly Fear mid?

What are these swaps? Misery is a good fit since they need a captain, but universe out and fear carry? They should just invest in some new talent since China is gonna win TI anyways
