Few teams would have that kind of fan response after placing 4th. When DK won, they won with style. They also went above and beyond for fans which lead to them overcoming the west vs east divide. DK may have not won TI but they will probably be the most memorable dota2 team for quite a while.

In-game wise it's hard to choose between MMY and LaNm. MMY!Lion... LaNm!Earthshaker... Hm...
Take into consideration that LaNm had to bear the burden of drafting whenever MushI and/or BurNIng started flopping at it though, LaNm MVP for sure.

I'm torn between LaNm and B-god. The former because he was the most stable drafter and had amazing plays that turned fights around, the latter because he persisted in carrying the team all those times it was needed (must've been heavy, poor BurNing).

I think it's between iceiceice, MMY and LaNm for me, BurNIng wasn't really performing well in lower bracket, and MuShi- had some questionable decisions and I personally didn't like MuShi's drafting.
|
Definitely lamn/mmy. Followed by iceiceice. Then burning and lastly mushi.
|
Guys in your opinion who will replace LaNm?
|
From SL9 to TI4, MMY was the best player for DK from what I could see. Burning was great at SL9 but fell off in TI4, lanm was consistent but nothing too good or bad. Mushi and iii dropped off hard in ti4

I don't think it's a matter of one player replacing another, the team will either reform with only iceiceice remaining or it will just disband at this point.

I cried alittle when I saw Lanm retire after reading the news in liquiddota. A sad time for us

Lanm's girlfriend "tweeted" at Burning and MMY telling them to continue on Lanm's dream. PERHAPS B-GOD NOT RETIRING?!

I dont really believe iii, mushi and mmy will leave, they all have a really great connection together. Maybe they'll pick up someone good/great

I just read it!
I didn't feel like posting at all... then I read that message from Lanm's fiance and immediately felt goosebumps!
Please let it be real! Someone find LanM a doctor and spoon feed him fast!

maybe it's not adapting well to American food? Mushi had food issue during the Summit as well

Everyone's forgetting the first half of DK's year. For a good few months after they formed, DK relied heavily on icex3 and mushi snowballing off 1v1 lanes. Unfortunately, the performance of both deteriorated somewhat after SL9, but I would attribute a lot of that to DK's woes with drafting (and Mushi's top heros becoming less and less relevant, at least in DK's eyes). Burning probably had the most shaky games, but he usually managed to get things together when it counted.
All 5 players were hugely important for the success of DK and any attempt to rank them seems extremely random and pointless. Nobody would've even mentioned MMY 6 months ago, it was all about the 3 famous cores or Lanm for the hipsters.

First text translation (taken from reddit): + Show Spoiler +I'll support whatever decision he make, even my heart is torn in to two, for one his health condition is not good at all, secondly, I can't bear the thought of this DK have to fall apart after just one year without the chance to shine, even I have such feeling let alone them. How about this, once his weight get to 120lbs I'll let fuzzy fuzzy cow (MMY, and yes not typo, its cow not duck) to take him back, I know how much Daidai love him.
And then I read this... http://t.qq.com/p/t/418549089025046 Something along the lines, "LanM wants to weight 120lbs, that'd be 2 years later at least"
The first response was for Burning and MMY to continue Lanm's dream. Then she states how conflicted she is with the current situation, LanM's health and DK's situation, and maybe if LanM's gets to 120lbs she will hand him back to MMY. And finally, yeah, he wants to weight 120lbs, that would take 2 years minimum...
What? Does handing Lanm back not mean he'd go back with MMY, therefore with DK? Or maybe all those responses were more on a personal level, totally DK unrelated?
Fuck this, I'm out.
|
Too much speculation. I won't get my hopes up high, until there's anything official and LaNm himself said, that he'll further elaborate his situation, when he's back in China.
|
I suspect Mushi will go back to SEA ... ice3 has stated he'd love to stay with DK if they'd have him (and I would personally love him to stay as well; even when he is feeding, he plays well). Hopefully Burning and MMY don't retire, and DK will just have to replace Lanm and Mushi.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DK will consider keeping Lanm on as a coach. I think he's well worth the money; have 71 deal with player mentality and scheduling and such, have Lanm brainstorm drafts. But, you know, aside from all that, I really hope that Lanm regains his health. I don't know how tall he is, but that is not a healthy weight, and I hope he puts his health first before all else.
