--- Written for those in Lanm吧 - a group of people who truly like him Because of Lanm's weibo post, there were around 2000 people who replied asking him to give it another year. Honestly, his body is in a truly bad condition, which is why I don't support him playing another year. The skies know how unwilling I am. This year for DK, everyone gave and sacrificed so much, including me. This year I've only seen Lanm 3 times, one of which was when he lost his ID and had to come back. Everyone on DK tried their hardest - Burning focusing on last hitting in daily pubs, MMY, although lazy, would always get up when the team was going to practice no matter how tired he was, and Lanm slept at 4 everyday. Practice ended at 2, and then he would practice drafting against himself or played pubs for 2 hours. Everyday was like this, but unfortunately not everything goes how we'd like in life. I support every decision he makes, and since he decided to retire, then I won't try to persuade him to continue playing nor encourage him to retire. I just hope he doesn't have any regrets, and after all, he is a man who has his own opinions. Uh, about that 60kg*...to be honest, I don't think he'll get there in less than 2 years~~~So lastly I want to say, B-god add oil^, MMY add oil, help make Lanm's dreams come true? -- *she originally says "120斤" and google is telling me 2斤=1kg, so 60kg ^add oil - Chinese way of saying "fighting!" | ||

Honestly one reason I love DK is that none of them are "new blood" (unlike NB, with 2, VG, with 3, and iG, with 1). They're all aged veterans - legends of the scene - and the fact that they have history makes me wax nostalgic and long for the glory days of Chinese dominance. | ||

Turns out, everything she said until this point was her personal opinion. I guess if Lanm doesn't feel like playing competitively anymore, then the best choice would be retiring. It'd be better off with specialists if Lanm's has anorexia or any eating disorder. It still boggles me the contrast between east and west. Most of the time you'd see western teams taking a lighter approach to training, emphasising quality over quantity. While the east prefers much more hard dedication and quantity, even if it takes a toll on one's health. To this date, you would expect more big teams to follow the Korean example and hire dedicated professionals to look after the players' mental and physical health... I think this topic has been discussed countless time across different games, maybe in the end it's a matter of the player himself and the team. One might improve with one way and not the other or vice versa. Get well Lanm, best of luck. | ||

ALSO Post TI emotional drama – from DK internal staff - I am definitely a DK staff member, I have been here before Burning, I was about to leave when he came and Burning made me stay; now is the time to leave because this DK is no longer DK anymore. - This is a throwaway (alternate account), I don’t dare to use my main as too many people would recognize who I am, and also releasing this kind of information using my main account would be stupid, no? - What I will reveal would be contrary to many of your expectations, so believe what you want to believe, ignore it if you think I’m joking, but don’t bother arguing. I only want to reveal the true situation behind the scenes, and perhaps shed some light on why DK lost. First, about iceiceice: During the competition, iceiceice and MMY! had the best state of mind. However some of the comments he made pissed off some of the other players, so although he is retarded (brain is not so good), we all understood, but there is still lingering resentment in my heart. He said that Lanm said he is not fit to be a leader, and he does not listen to others. Even when playing Prophet, he did not listen to Burning and ultimately led to defeat in that game. Secondly, mushi: Since the incident with xiao8, mushi has not performed well, this cannot be blamed on others but purely on his narrow-mindedness. Although it cannot be denied that mushi is very modest, he is also extremely petty. When we go out to eat, he basically never treated any meals, it was mostly Lanm and occasionally Burning and MMY! iceiceice didn’t pay often because he does not often bring his wallet out, and everyone didn’t let him pay anyway. Mushi paid for drinks or supper quite frequently but he never paid for any meal over 2000 (yuan probably). Mushi was also very outspoken of his views about China; he spends his free time in the house, not doing anything in particular. When asked why he does not go out and take a walk, he says that he does not like the air in China and does not like the Chinese because they always cheat him. On the topic of xiao8, after telling 71 about it, he immediately posted on weibo unbeknownst to Burning. At that point in time, we were still practicing with xiao8 – at the very least it looked like we were still training. We had practiced the most with Newbee, but for a period of time the was less scrims and Mushi might have heard some rumours about boycotting DK, and coupled with his tendency to distrust the Chinese, led to him posting that weibo. At first, Burning thought that Mushi had evidence, but what happened in the end? We had been scrimming just fine, and Mushi ruined it. This could also be blamed on the DK team as they insisted on practicing for exactly 60 minutes; we had told them not to use certain strategies anymore but 71 insisted. In the end, it was the team that caused their own downfall. Also regarding scrimming, the first team to break off ties and stop scrimming with DK was IG with this message “Since Team DK thinks that IG are stupid fucks (tn. 傻逼 shabi is the best translation I can think of), then there is no need for practice between us anymore.” This was brought to our attention by iceiceice, but we cannot blame him for this matter. Third, about 71: Do you know what was the first thing 71 did when he came to DK? Let me tell you, it was to seize power. There are many semi-professional players at DK that help do tactical and ban-pick analysis, we can say that they are DK’s coaches. DK strongest style is not farming, but perfect team fights – their talent and skill allows them to do that. We have prepared many different strategies for DK to use, such as the Wraith King strategy, Prophet-Zeus-AA strategy, Huskar strategy and Elder Titan strategy. However, these were all stopped by 71 because he regarded them as not stable enough; he said that winning team fights is not enough, farming was still necessary, and losing a team fight would lose the game. Why not keep farming, win the team fights that can be won and dodge the fights that cannot be won and keep farming until every team fight can be won – then the game is won; we should use the safest strategy to win, that is what he believes. Before we played VG, we gave 71 a call to tell Lanm not to let Burning play Razor because it would not fare well, and he should pick something with better team hero composition. In the end, the result left us disillusioned and we felt like leaving. Fourthly, about the fans(?) of DK: This has to be discussed, as the original fans of DK, because we are the first regiment of DK’s navy; every team has its fair share of rumours – we have not cared about these until 71 came, and he was extremely concerned over these things. I can tell you this, Burning’s personal page, dota2 pages, even sgamers have people from DK who are given wages. Their job is to manipulate the public opinion of DK on social media, and in this respect there are none better than them. The reason why I do not dare to use my main account, firstly is due to fear of any potential enemies online, and secondly I am afraid that knowing my main account would scare you. This is why I have to talk about how xiao8’s weibo was harassed (sprayed, possibly defaced?). This was also the doing of these manipulators, and the DK fans were quick to react in anger, and aggravated by the temper of the Newbee members. I can only say that when I knew about this, I felt dirty; many fans of DK have also been lied to or brainwashed. Countless numbers of DK fans have been brainwashed, although I have to say, I was too… Lastly, let’s talk about B-god, Lanm and MMY!: I am a crazy fan of Burning; I didn’t understand him at the start, but he won me over – and he really has no black points. However he has undoubtedly aged, his technical ability has fallen, occasionally pulling out the big play but overall TI4 was too long and he could not keep up, I pray that nobody blames him. Lanm is someone that we should feel extremely bad for, he came to DK to win, and worked the hardest, delaying his wedding to participate in TI4. He was originally the brains of DK, and Burning the captain, but his ban-picks started to be questioned and he starting picking many individual heroes. It is really such a pity for Lanm as he was not able to fully showcase his strategies. For MMY!, he has immense talent but is too lazy, if he was more hardworking, the best dota player would not be Burning, but him. Too bad, but we will support garbage MMY!, even though age has not been good to your stature, we will always support you! About questions concerning me, they really are not important, I have come here to let everyone know why DK lost, and the reason why I am leaving DK is because I have been hurt, I am tired, there is a way out for me as my family has opened a restaurant and it is just nice for me to go home and run the business. For those who do not know me, do not worry about me. Lastly I want to say: Go DK! Go B-God! Go Lanm! Go MMY! from: http://bbs.pcgames.com.cn/topic-2869061.html translated by: http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/2bdtq2/lanm_confirms_hell_retire_and_thanks_everyones/cj4fx6b | ||

But looking at the reshuffle we can really see that azarkon's old comment (that was bashed heavily) about china's lack of new talent was right. How do you replace lanm? What new supports are there? Fy and Fenrir are no longer considered new. Apparently we have ayo who is crap at support and only good at shooting arrows. Do you really want to put your faith in demons, super and dreamyu. China is going into a decline because there's just no new talents coming in to replace the old. The scene is way too top heavy. | ||

China is going into a decline because there's just no new talents coming in to replace the old. The scene is way too top heavy. you'd be surprised that players do actually get better. xiaotuji, who is one of top chinese carries atm, was often a punching bag for top chinese teams when he was on NA and Rstars. going back to VG, fy and fenrir were already decent, but still needed a solid core to make them better players. things can happen when new players start playing with experienced captains. if you look at lanm and burning, they were absolutely nothing special compared to the best teams at the time. but as the years went on, they got better and better and became very famous last year was certainly problematic for the chinese scene, but this year has been a lot healthier. while no team will ever quite make the splash that FTD did, players will always seep in through teams that show good results against the top chinese teams: dream, sunny/tyloo, WE, panda, rising stars, rattlesnake, the first VG. chinese players have always been retiring, i still remember some of my favorites like 820, 2009, 830GOD, and dgc that retired in 2010/2011. i am not surprised to see if a number of chinese players retire this year, more than just lanm, and im not going to think that the china will go into decline. as long as china plays dota, china will be competitive. | ||

I never once thought rabbit was a bad player. He was always going to be a top player. Same as fy. I'm talking about the likes of xdd air xtt etc. They have been in the scene for quite a while, but they probably are not going to be good enough. | ||
