WAS NOT PREPARED FOR FEELS.
DaNm, I just wanted this team of legends to claim their throne, but alas...

Some chinese fan on the forums met DK during dinner today, and says that MMY is retiring too. No real official confirmation though. Here's the link for any Chinese, at least they're smiling.
Nothing from DK members yet, but here's what Lanm's future wife (same one in his story) had to say:从Ti1的超神蚂蚁,Ti2绝境翻盘Tiny,Ti3冲入正赛的蓝猫,Ti4的熬夜BP思考,4届Ti,充满了付出和不甘,不过我坚信一切都会有最好的结局。 And thank you for always being there for me, treasure me and being my inspiration. I love you, lanm. Translation: "From TI1's beyond godlike weaver, TI2's comeback Tiny, TI3's storm spirit to get into the main event, to TI4's all-nighters to ponder over drafts. 4 TIs, full of devotion and unwillingness, but I truly believe all this will have the best ending. And thank you for always being there for me, treasure me and being my inspiration. I love you, lanm."

Be still my heart ): sigh.

Fuck
MMY too?!
And here I was daydreaming that maybe MMY would assume the captain role and toss aside that lazy status that always follow him...
Hoping that these are just rumours... Terrible news to end the day...

Not very surprising though, he's played for a very long time as well. It's the end of an era, it seems.

That tweet... And MMY going too... My heart can't take much more of this.
DK, you've been absolutely amazing! I'm so sorry to see you go, but still glad that we got to watch you being brilliant, even if not for half as long as we would've liked.

Thanks for the games DK. It's been a blast following this team over the past year.
Doubt I'll ever support a team the same way again.
|
I've ever been so emotionally invested in a team before. DK have had a pretty amazing year, all in all. I wish they had performed up to their potential during TI, but I guess the pressure got to them in the end.
Thank you LaNm, MMY, BurNing, Mushi, and Iceiceice for the amazing games. You'll be missed, Dota Kings.
|
I was rooting for two teams here, C9 and DK... Really disappointed by DK's play in last games, especially for burning that seemed off (and that is really rare imo). I'm also sad that this team will probably not continue.
|
Man after burning retires......he was far and away my favorite player :/ what a legend. I don't know what to think now. I don't think I can even bring myself to root for a team as much as I have for DK, what a team. There's just a gaping hole T.T I don't know whom to call my favorite player anymore, it's like Roger Federer retiring for me haha ><
Damn.
|
the winners interview with rotk after their series vs eg was so sad poor burning

"Championship is not my fate"

Thank you DK for all the hard work and dedication to the team. I have never been so dedicated to a team myself, follow your games, interviews and quirkyness?. Anyways DK, I hope all you players do well in the future and if you disban I hope the new DK will strive to be as compassionate about the game as you all were.

In 2011, a team was reestablished under the recruitment of Kssss containing member ks himself, kingj, Benz, yaphets and a man called burning. It was hyped to become the next mothership that will shoulder Chinese dota but results have proven otherwise. Following the introduction of dota2 into the professional scene, DK dwarfed, underachieved and started becoming incompetent of producing A class performances. Yet, there was one man who carried his team upon his shoulders and back, which are narrowed by years of tears and arched by episodes of disappointments. This was burning.
In 2013 two ehome champions joined burning in hope of helping him reclimb the mountain of kings, one of whom was 357 (aka uncle 18) and the latter being mmy, dai, Zengrong Lei, or X!!. Years age a man like knife, when was the last time someone could remember that storm spirit who killed lion with 20 hp, that demon witch who terrorised ESWC, that tinker who makes dendi and arteezy's maneuvers look like child's play... Now, there is only the chubby duckling playing on supports.
On ti3, when burning dreamed of weaving his way into top 4, he was stopped, stopped by an ulti, a man, a mushi. The maestro, the sea hope, the grand master of art, mushi had never enjoyed the bitter sweet of a title in his entire professional career. Mushi dreamed of a championship, a title, a chance, a moment where he could tell the Malaysians who laughed at him that esports is legitimate and he is one of the best. The closest he has ever came to was sadly shattered by an arrow into the shield.
Who is the funniest esports player in the world, my answer would be chuan. Who is the best solo mid in the world, my answer would be dendi. Who is the funniest and best dota2 solo player, my answer would be iceiceice. One would judge on performances of the previous internationals that this Singaporean is just another troll! a clown, or even a king of throws. On ti3, Peixiang Xu proved the millions wrong that he is just another pubber when he beat mushi to obtain the solo champion.
Every fan have their very own idol, or hero in dota2 that they look up to, mine is Lanm; 国士无双. “I have kunio, I have Odyssey” was the praise given to lanm by dc. The man went through the loss of love, wealth, home, future, championship, and most importantly the chance to prove himself but did he complain about his life? No he didn't. Instead it was him who brought to us that ck on ti1, that tiny on ti2, and that kunka on ti3.
Finally, I wish the team of DK and all it's members farewell on their future as there will soon be the inevitable retirement of 71, burning, lanm, and mmy. To iceiceice, the magnificence. To mmy, the rated-x weapon. To mushi, the true maestro and champion. To burning, the one and only god. To lanm, the Monty who never backed on failures and always chased his dreams. Thank you DK for giving me the youth that I bare, the days of dota rock and roll, and a legend that will never be forgotten by fans.

I feel so sad.
I had never supported a team like DK.
Being a zenith fan, i moved onto DK and I was rewarded with some of the most sublime, most wonderful dota that I had ever seen.
Thank you DK for a wonderful journey.

Thank you DK for everything. It was a blast following you. I am just sad that altho you lost you couldnt show your true strength in the final games Even if you lost i wish you would have gone out fighting a close fight
All the best to you
