In a statement released by CompLexity's VP and GM Kyle "Beef" Bautista they announced they would be dropping long time captain Kyle "Swindlemelonzz" Freedman from their roster.
Earlier today I informed Kyle Freedman that he was being removed from his position in our Dota 2 team and released from the organization. This action is a result of our Dota 2 team’s unanimous opinion that the personality conflicts within the team were too severe to continue. Based on that information, myself and other Complexity management made the decision to move in a different direction.
Kyle had been a part of the CompLexity roster since 2014 along with his brother Zfreek. No announcement of a replacement has been made yet. CompLexity sits 15th in the DPC with 135 points. This comes days after the team announced it would be pulling out of StarLadder's NA qualifier.
Damn that’s crazy. I guess it makes sense, if they were attending events like the Manila Major and he was blowing up in his teammates I can only imagine being stopped in qualifiers by optic wouldn’t sit well with him. But yeah what good pos 5 supports/captains exist in NA that are free?
Kyle was Complexity, gonna be wierd to not see him on there. But I mean, if things aren't working it's probably for the best to try something new. Don't think these personality conflicts were gonna go away without him leaving, since it has happened quite a few times with Col over the years.
Zfreek will be a hot pick up next cycle, that's for sure, and I'm kind of curious if to see Zfreek draft. No clue who will come in as the pos 5 though.

I believe the rumor is zfreek stuck with his brother on col despite being better than the other 4 players on col (any given roster) because kyle was his brother
There's no good captains right now to replace Kyle so I don't expect anything out of zfreek/col until post-TI shuffle, where we'll see if zfreek moves up to a better team or something
NA qualifiers is so weird atm with only optic being left behind which probably ensures their TI spot knowing how weak NA qualifier scene is atm lol Meanwhile china and SEA will have alot more to offer but will only qualify a few.
Zfreek is talented 4 pos and he never actually lost his edge overtime unlike players like zai who used to be insanely good but now not so much. I'm excited for his opportunity post-TI not the current TI i think they're doomed all other possible captain/drafters currently are preoccupied(fly, s4, puppey, kuro, ppd, envy, mushi, misery) and most likely some of them aren't leaving their team(kuro/puppey). I bet that dude will get snatched postshuffle he's really god
I know kyle has a clear shot-calling ability but post-TI he finally has an opportunity to possibly hold highvalue players for his roster or other roster he joins. Rather than the bunch of T2 players he gets for col and finally test his opportunity. As we've seen not even puppey or ppd could make it work with players who doesn't cut at the top so maybe he could make it work if he had the resources now

Fly had great results with a very average roster between fnatic and OG, I can't remember the name. He also introduced miracle to the pro scene.
Kuro brought MC, matu, jerax and GH in the proscene. They were not even T2 players when they joined kuro, T3 at best.
It's a shame, but Kyle often looked like the weak link, but on the other hand they'd stuck with him so long it's a big surprise to see it go down like this now. Very weird. Does complexity have somebody lined up already for a replacement?

My best guess is Kitrak; I was surprised he wasn't on the Digital Chaos roster and this might be why.

During the fnatic roster with Fly they were one of the best dota 2 players around (albeit the dota scene skill level was incredibly low at those times). OG however they had s4 and jerax which are extremely high skill player (one is one of the best captains and proven player).
Matumbaman, jerax and MC were already in the proscene awhile back even before Kuro added them to his team. Admittedly they were nothing special back then (but that was during the time c9 2nd place was still a thing .. and i remember some them being part of 4ASC ). I wouldn't really say Matumbaman isn't a high skill player considering he peaked during his time with liquid showcasing his best form as well as evidently having as high as mmr as miracle which isn't an easy thing. Remember that rtz peaked during the period pre-TI5 even though he was already good pre-TI4.
Both captains only had weaker players for a short time but on their most successful times they had the proven players(s4/fata) and extremely high skill newcomers(miracle/ana/GH/jerax) so technically they still had really good players to make it work.
Kyle had players like cheesie or Limmp or i can't even remember which t2 players was it.
Afaik didn't fly/notail also come from HoN scene like Ppd and kyle ?

They did and it gets even better. Fly and Notail were on FnaticMSI and were pretty much winning everything. Fly was playing 4 iirc and Notail was the crazy kid styling on everybody in mid Sumail style. Trixi was their 1. Swindles team (from todays perspective ironically named Stay Green) with Chessie, Zfreek, Limmp and Mynuts started winning once Fly and Notail left for Dota2. He always talked about how they equaled Fnatics achievements (numbers wise they might have, I don't recall) while ignoring the fact that the toughest competition had left for Dota2 (not just Fnatic, Loda,S4 etc.).
These guys have been playing on and off since HoN 2013 .. minus Moo. Kyle is heart of the team. remove him and you get a completely different team altogether. I don't have any expectations for CoL with a new captain.
post-HoN players are nothing in this day and age, all you need in a team to be t1, is a good captain and a bunch of 9k+ and if you can somehow mold them to a perfect team with synergy and golden strats then you got a t1 team. Look at the teams midone, noone and miracles on, pretty sure puppey, solo n kuro molded them into their team strats. Pick up any of these guys on the top 20 Leaderboards and work with them till your team works, then you got a potentially a t1 team.

*40k+
😂 thought i saw around 38k didnt know it breached 40k jesus although at a certain point in the late game the gold advantage doesn’t matter if the other team has most of the items they need
