The current cosmetic situation is already fucked up, giving extra abilties to a player is just too much. Its the slippery slope of dota. Next its going to be supports being allowed to vote. Carrys are going to be able to marry anyone, including a jungle creep. Its literally the end of Esports as we know it. The fabric of small town dota life will be destroyed and then what will be the back bone of America. I am calling Fox News right now and telling them about what Obama has done to dota.
Fucking supports should be sent back to Russia am I rite capka3m

First they are going to want the vote, soon after they are going to move to have wards be free and everyone gets one. They they will want free last hits too.
This sign thing that techies is getting is going is the beginning of "fun" being used to ruin our dota lifestyle. Its an assault on our values.

Soon everyone'll have a free blink dagger and town portal scrolls won't cost anything and Moscow 5 will keep the same roster for longer than six months.

I liked reddit's solution. Just make the sign a normal Techies skill and make the arcana sign look prettier. Techies is such a wacky hero that I don't think anybody would mind if one of his skills was purely cosmetic and didn't have a real effect.
Also, on the slippery slope, there's already the diretide coal item that you can use in a normal game to possible get an advantage. It was even bugged for a while and throwing coal triggered aftershock.

People are really overreacting to cosmetics?

Its pretty standard. Someone will find some thing that changes the way something looks and everyone will freak out and be like "It changes EVERYTHING". Then people talk about ethics, the "spirit" of the game and other intangible things that they can hang their hat on because they can't find a real argument. Or they will argue that people will become completely dumbfounded by the sign and just DC rather than have to suffer through looking at it. Meanwhile the other side goes "dude its a fucking sign. You could just put down a real mine and not warn someone it was there. Or say "you guys should be careful in your jungle."
Then it comes out and no one gives a shit. But right now its an assault on the very foundation of dota. Everyone is an old man screaming "who moved my cheese! Get off my lawn with your signs."
Or IceIceIce saves up coal for like 8 months to kill S4 in the 1v1 mid joke event for no money or anything that matters.

There are 5 heroes on the enemy team and one of them has to be nyx, but still they blame the set because "its confusing".

it is a problem if you can't tell immediatly what hero you are playing against, the new cosmetic for lone druid looks too similiar to one lycan skin. It is not obvious if you are just glimpsing if it is lone druids bear or lycan.
And yes, it is important that you can identify heros in a splitsecond. It might be very obvious if you look at it in detail, but it isn't ingame in a teamfight, when a lot of shit is going on at the same time.

cant tell if ur against lone druid or lycan just cuz of the skin
trust me if thats what ur problem with the game is its not the game that has the problem

Literally impossible to die if the enemy can't tell what hero you're playing.

Yo. I didn't say anything before 'cause I hoped there would be at least some people that would appreciate the issue at hand. Losing hope here. The Techies thing is a major problem, since it actually creates valid confusion. You can say it's nothing to cut people's heads off for (it sure as hell isn't), but I find it a fact that buying said arcana set gives you a tangible advantage over not having it.

Vendetta makes Nyx invisible, so the whole argument is moot.
And I don't know about this Lycan, lone Druid thing. I mean one they both have to be on the same team and the Lycan is a wolf man that runs super fast. And the other is a fucking bear.

Of you put down the sign, the enemy team knows there is the potential for a mine to be there. Just like every other square inch of the map. The only this it says is "techie was hear recently" which you should be worried about anyways.
Literally pay to lose. I could just put a remote mine there instead and not tell anyone. The only thing is does is tell you techie was more likely to put down a mine here.

Aye, except one is a bear and the other has a name over the health bar. I mean that pic alone doesn't show what the issue is exactly.
