Yeah, I feel kinda bad for that, and you that did so well with zeus. Shame he isn't suited for an 80 minute game ^^

Imo, wex/quas is still the more powerful invoker. Heavy exort spells give little utility, and have very few uses late game. As such, exort invoker needs to make an impact early game to make up for his lack of mid-game. However quas is much more effective at winning the lane in most situations, as clod snap is ridiculous and quas means a free RoH (although there are a few situations where 1 level of exort is needed to win your lane). One of your biggest weaknesses is our movement speed (which, by the way, is 2nd equal with CM, only techies being slower), and wex more than makes up for it. If you don't have wex, then you have to be much more careful about positioning, often requiring you to get a blink dagger and force staff to help position your hard to land exort spells (meteor, icewall, and deafening blast), while wex gives you the mobility to land these easily.
Exort has a few niche uses, but it requires too much sacrifice to use generally. Wex covers your weaknesses and makes you more useful in the midgame (up until you hit like level 20 something).

No kidding, I put in so much work into Zeus. When first picking, I tried to avoid using him for that very reason. I was worried that if it went on, he would not be as strong. Which is why I went refresher in attempt to make my ult more useful (using the ult twice in a row is quite hilarious).
As for the topic of invoker. I have had him as one of my Sd choices before, but avoided getting him because I know he is more unique than many others. So, does anyone have any advice on a specific tutorial or advice with using him (I do use dotafire but does not always teach, just guide).

Sorry I haven't really been watching stuff the past few days, is there a reason you say Misery may be leaving EG?

Apparently he said it on his stream.

that is completely expected tbh... look at demon stream, EG dota squad never practice together. The are split by groups of 2 and differentiate by regional ping. If you watch sing_sing you could see they scrim or party together at least 5 hours a day.
I would not be surprised if somehow mania from fnatic gona join EG maelk soon ...

in the kunkka/clinkz game, kunkka had like 2100 hp and clinkz had 1900 and clinkz on top of that has invis and max ms, tell me how he dies to 1-2 nukes ?

I don't think that would change anything then, considering replacing Misery with Mania would still lead to the same timezone issues they have currently.

Really? Lately I've been seeing Sing+Bamboe scrim more often on stream with twiSta instead, maybe mouz's scrims aren't streamed.

Do you guys think runes need a nerf? I've seen many games decided by a single rune.
|
That's why you must control the runes. I'd say haste and invis are a pretty 100% early gank. And DD late game on a carry can really hurt ( disable, sheep, stun him ASAP )
|
The way to improve runes is to make them less random rather than nerf them. Getting a lucky regen or invis or haste when escaping has nothing to do with skill and can be gamebraking. The problem is, how do we make them less random without breaking the middle lane and the bottle.
There was a -experimental runes mode introduced long time ago and recently in 6.73 there was "Runes will no longer spawn the same rune type 2 times in a row" So I think Icefrog is aware of the issue but doesn't want to missfix something that isn't really broken(runes weren't really changed for a long time)
|
Problem is that there is a fine line between nerfing runes so that they don't seem so gamebreaking (I don't even feel like they are) but preventing them from being an actual reward for map control. Teams will just have to understand the importance of timing and even denying runes from enemies. I've seen various matches in DotA 1 and 2 where a well placed veno ward or chen neutral denies a rune from the enemy.

I'm no pro but I like the runes the way they are. Bit of randomness, but also skill involved to control them. Like poker. Or starcraft!

Edit: Moved question to simple questions simple answers thread

There was a competitive game which was decided by furion getting 2 dd runes in a row and ganking top lane with this..
