So I guess the big reason Lycan is near-auto-ban is because he literally demands the gameplan revolve around him. | ||

Lycan is very strong, he is able to jungle at a very fast pace(although he hasn't been employed like that in Dota 2 yet). His summon wolves are fast, invisible(which is usefull for scouting) and do alot of damage(to towers aswell), his Howl buffs everyone on the entire team(including minions) with extra damage, this allows for insane pushing power once Lycan gets a few items. Lycan is also able to solo roshan at a fairly fast pace. His ultimate makes him go 522 ms(max) and while in this form he is unslowable, and does far more damage. The most important part is his pushing though, in the Midgame to early lategame Lycan is imo at its strongest Sven, Drow Ranger, Sniper, Zeus, Lina, Jakiro, Axe, Skeleton King, Spirit Breaker, Bloodseeker, Clinkz, Weaver, Spectre, Bane, Lich, Necrolyte, Warlock. Sven, Doesnt fit the Meta of Pushing I suppose?I dunno, he is pretty good, espescially now that his ultimate can no longer be purged. Drow Ranger, too squishy, too easily gankable Sniper, Same deal Zeus, I think there are better heroes to give mid too rather then Zeus who offer more then Zeus can, Zeus offers damage, while other heroes offer CC or strong pushing abilties. Lina I don't know, I think there are better heroes then her in the pool which can contribute more to the game then Lina as of now, her stun can be annoying to land and she needs a large mana pool/arcanes to be able to do her combo, while other supports don't need that, shes also less strong as a baby sitter as of now imo. Jakiro, Jakiro is pretty good, I also wonder why he isn't being picked up more(although he has been picked more as of recent) Axe, Axe is just Axe, Axe without Taunt isn't really tanky and he needs a blink dagger to be able to do anything, apart from taunt he has little damage and there is no reason to focus him, there has been some experiments but overall he isn't that good relative to other heroes Skeleton King - is being picked up quite some. Spirit Breaker - doesn't do enough damage. Bloodseeker - has a shitty end game, he also has to Bloodrage to be able to do some form of damage, and he needs a BKB aswell, BKB cancels Bloodrage, also he he does nothing against pushes. Spectre - takes too long to get anything going on him. Clinkz - too squishy Weaver - is being used Bane - is being used a bit, I still don't like him, he needs a BKB to be able to get his ultimate off in alot of fights and hence requires a fair amount of farm, which means you will have to give him farm and there are better alternative heroes for that imo. Spectre - Needs to long to be able to do something, doesn't fit current meta of pushing Lich - Too much push, although Lich sees some play working as a dual mid. Necrolyte - I like Necrolyte, I suppose he needs too much farm to be able to work well or something, don't know on this one. Warlock - is being used, however he has little Anti-Push outside of his Upheaval, has no reliable slows and only a heal for babysitting, he isn't really a good ganker while other supports are, he is situational and is being used ocasionally as such, Fatal bonds and Infernal are really strong though. Major heroes still missing , Panda and Chaos Knight come to mind, heroes that don't matter at all, uhm I dunno, techies probably. Why Dota only has one map?Frankly I don't know, however the heroes are also balanced with the map taken into account I pressume, and a new map would mean a whole different game probably, it would be interesting, but the classic Dota map is where it has been played in for years and it will continue to do so. | ||

Lycan is basically the seen as part of the solution to the current "allinpush" meta It can solo or hybrid jungle and is almost impossible to completely shut down its a heavy pushing core that matures extremely quickly, u can grab roshan with just a vlads and you basically only need vlads bkb to be a completely destructive presence in teamfights or be essentially instagibbing towers if the other team leaves you alone. Its also a carry that facilitates pushing extremely well with the wolves and howl. Basically, this is what the Chinese meta moved on to after "allinpush" into the lycan/sylla 20 min timing, where you farm the core (vlads/bkb or radiance), grab roshan, and then just facesmash a rax. This is seen as preferable to the current "allinpush" because lycan and sylla can generally outfarm and outcarry any hero given a 1 rax lane advantage and can formulate a coherent lategame even if the push fails to rax, instead of ohwehaventraxedin30min GG | ||

Also any tips on finding people to play with, 350 solo queue games and I am getting a little sick of it, went back to LoL just to have people to queue with and LoL hurts my soul to play. | ||
