I believe Sylar was one of the best mechanical players in Dota1, still remember some game where he was broodmother mid with like 10 min radiance lol.

Piecat was on the team for a bit but never really played and was gone by the time they got picked up. (OTOH, if that team were to get back together I'd rather have Pajkatt than Demon, just because of the various drama llamas between Demon, Kuro and Puppey.)

Liquid already sees MSS (and to a lesser extent kzz, if only he fixes his temper and BM) as a sixth honorary member. If Korok and Mike does leave Liquid, don't be surprise if MSS joins the squad. The only way he ends up on EG is if Liquid passes him up, but I doubt that. So, ignore all the rumors about MSS joining EG until everything is figured out on Liquid's side first.

I know demon was there but he's apparently taking a break from Dota so he can't be part of the reformation of BFB. I would also like Pajkatt over Demon for the same reason you do, although I think there are a few players who would make better mid solos than him. Bulba especially but also Arteezy.

A LOT of the deciding games were very very close. Na'Vi could easily have lost game 3 to TongFu, LGD could have beat Liquid to make a pretty deep run if not for the Bo1 situation, Orange could have lost to DK in a longer series, etc. All of these scenarios could have happened, and while everyone is saying Alliance is an obvious front runner compared to Na'Vi, the entire finals could have easily been a 3-1 to Na'Vi had they not choked in g5 and pushed t4 into throne, or had Puppey not drafted some wonkeyass lineup for g1. Anyhow, I think everyone is reading into Chinese stagnation far too much. That really begs the question, are Chinese getting worse, or has everyone caught up to them? Everyone was supposed to be at the same level, but Westerners were just behind the curve and sucking dick at the game in 09-10. Now that everyone's caught up more or less, why do the Chinese feel such an obsessive need to maintain the former status quo, especially when Top8 of TI3 are all relatively close? Shit's ridiculous. On topic, real question is: WHO IS KP GONNA PICK UP and where is my kp icon tl???????

Bulba, Get in here and tell me exactly what Yao said!!!! This doesn't play well with other stuff that's publicly floating around. LGD is also a mad rumour mill. BurNing on LGD is really ambitious. it was at lunch and asked yao if lgd will change. he said he is not sure whether xiao8 will continue. supposedly xiao8 got a lot of flame by the chinese community for his performance and picks. i asked him what will happen and he said he will probably go back to the 3 role and sylar might play mid or continue playing carry. i heard ig wants burning as well possibly but xiao8 was extremely depressed. "He" means xiao8, I suppose? Or Yao? BurNIng changing teams is the worst kind of thing that can happen to Chinese Dota at all. His ambitions are understandable, but it is not like it's exclusively other DK members' fault they didn't reach TI3 Grand Finals. Xiao8 was only good at the early of his dota career with his weaver That's bullshit. Why? So he has to stay in DK or else? Honestly, Chinese reshuffles have a way of bringing out the best in some people, and creating absolutely dominant teams like EHOME 2010. If what the Chinese stars need are changes of scenery (like, maybe xiao8 could go to iG and replace Chuan, while Chuan goes carry for DK? Who knows, really?), then it's all well and good! China needs that juggernaut team much like Na'vi (for CIS), Alliance (for SWE), and Orange (for Malaysia) to get back in the mix for contenders in TI4. They also need to start traveling more often and playing in the Dreamhacks of the world. I don't believe in wonders. It has to be considered xiao8 and BurNing are the captains of their respective teams, and have more than professional bounds with team members and It's not like the teams they lead have been doing piss-poorly all year either. It's too damn early to speak about TI4, but every team you mentioned is beatable for top Chinese teams without any roster changes. It's the level of preparation that matters. Maybe 1 year ago, during and post-TI2, I'd have agreed with you. But watching Dota 2 for the past year has convinced me that the non-Chinese scene has caught up in most aspects except maybe mechanical/lane skill. And in other aspects, such as strategy and teamwork, I believe that Na'vi and Alliance have pulled ahead. I doubt it. I can agree with the same argument made about [A], but it doesn't automatically mean they are unbeatable. You have seen it with your own eyes at TI3: DK won the single game where they weren't outdrafted, TF had their first game in pocket if Hao bought HoT; LGD had second game and great chances in first if Sylar didn't get denied at Rosh by Akke's Blinding Light and / or went BF first instead of Midas; iG had close games too, despite their form. Burning I think was talking about practicing for 12 (?) hours a day. How the hell were they underprepared in that case?!? The same way it happens to some students at final exams. Greatest effort in the world doesn't slightly matter if it doesn't bring along the result. In DK's case, the outcome was clearly positive, but they were aiming for higher goals than managed to achieve. I hadn't watched their deciding loses against Orange yet, so I can't comment what exactlly went wrong. the rest of the world has caught up to their skill. This is too vague to discuss for me. That calls for some kind of shake-up and reassessment of how to move forward, and I personally think that it requires shuffling, if not of players, at least of ideas. It holds true for any competetive scene after every world-class tournament. My point is that the higher level of competition you get naturally the less shuffling of performers takes place. For Director 8, maybe it's time to go? Maybe it's time to take a break? Well, it's up to player to decide his own life and nobody would blame the one who chooses to retire. But we were talking about shuffling. For Burning, maybe it's time to try a new team, a new environment? You can't appeal for reasonable thinking with maybe-like arguments, I think. Burning, Super, Chuan, Rotk, Dai? Plz plz plz. QQQ is better than Chuan in current form on his signature junglers though.

While we're being nostalgic I want TeamHome and Ducky's Dream Team back. Apparently the latter might happen, which would be cool because I honestly can't think of a pro player worse than Ducky. He was an alright captain, but dear sweet mother of god he could be terribly low-skilled at times.

Supposedly according to the LGD players a couple months ago, Sylar is actually the strongest player on the team at 1v1 mid (though this is not uncommon for Chinese competitive teams). I don't know if this is still the case.
