You should take advantage of One with Everything as much as possible, so stick to cold resistance and replace shoulders, gloves, boots etc. Inna's belt is terrible in general and even worse in hardcore, a rare belt with lots of vitality/life% and AR is so much better.

I wouldn't say inna's belt is terrible. Aside from a witching hour, inna's belt is typically the second best dps belt there is if you are using black weapons. Plus it completes his 2 piece set, he would lose A TON of dps if he switched that belt out. Ofc aside from the armor (which is very nice) there are no other defensive stats so maybe at some point get some inna's pants for the 2 piece and 24 movespeed while getting a defensive belt to make up the deference.

As Big G said, stick to a res. You should have no issues hitting 700-800 all res pretty easily. You build looks good, I would personally swap out the healing serenity rune for the 4 second one or the party one.

Yeah but the defensive potential of a rare belt (or something in the middle like a Blackthorne one) is much more important in HC, especially since in the long run (as you said) he's probably going to use Inna's pants, which are mediocre ehp-wise.

The problem is, the only items I can find that have all res + cold res + vitality are either -10k dmg and still cost 5mil or cost a few hundred million or even billions, assuming it even exists.

I'm kind of looking for everything on every item which I think is limiting my ability to minmax each slot. Should I be taking less offensive stats on shoulders for example and then make up for it with a trifecta glove with no vit/allres or something along those lines? There are some decent Vile Wards I can get for 5-10m that pretty much trade HP for DMG 1:1 but then give me ~1.5% protection in the form of +75ish all res. I also already have a belt that is pretty much the same story, but I just use Inna's since I don't need the additional HP/allres for mp0/1 farming runs.

Right now you don't need AR+cold on every single item, as I said your priority should be replacing lightning and physical res with cold res on those 3 items (and maybe add it to helm and belt? I don't know the prices), which should be very cheap.

Use an EHP calculator (like d3up) to evaluate any change, your reasoning may be right but in the HC market is a bit hard to find exactly what you need.
Of course if you can get high AR+cold+vit on defensive slots (shoulders, chest, belt, pants), something less + cc/movement speed on helm, bracers and boots... then you can afford totally offensive stats on jewelry and gloves. But, as an example, the sole inclusion of Inna's pants for 24%ms (which may roll at best 200vit OR 200dex/100vit OR 80ar) skews badly this setup.

Oh, I forgot to mention that you can't search for, say, 100dex/100vit on every single piece - or at least it isn't efficient. Dex rolls higher (by "higher" I mean up to 200 on a single affix and up to 300 on double roll) on gloves and boots, vitality on pants and chest BUT many other slots may roll up to 12%life (shoulders, belt, chest) and/or sockets (2 pants, 3 chest) - not counting legendaries and crafted items.

So if you search for 100+ dex on a belt you're already shrinking the results to a double dex roll, while 80 dex is probably 10 times more common - so better get low dex and high vit/life% on a defensive slot. Besides, since 1 strength = 1 armor and 10int = 1AR, you may find some significant bonuses on certain slots; like, shoulders and belt with ~100 bonus str are very common (Vile Ward too) since str can roll up to 200(300) on these pieces. For the same reason the poor barbs are happy to find ~100 dex for free on gloves and boots.

Well pretty much anyone can play effectively now. The announcement of expansion allowing level 70 and screen-shots of gear pieces have DESTROYED the economy. Nothing is worth anything now so it's a good time to dive into the game and get a good start in Hardcore cuz there is tons of good shit for sale cheap ^^

People are over-reacting tho, the expansion won't be out for like a year.
