Here's the build I'm using to farm hell Azmodan. This build is very good for soloing nightmare/hell. If you're having trouble living swap out WotB for War Cry with Invigorate rune. I also use a 1her and shield, definitely best combo for a barb.

I am @ ACT 4 NM now, I am quite happy that I do many things that you point out in your post already ![]() One question though, do you think DW will work well on Inferno? Tbh i think it could work if you had a dedicated tank other than yourself, but i dont see why would want to to be honest. At best is a 15% dps increase over 1h and shield. And the shield just does so much more.

![]() Right now I'm using this Barb build. I usually play w/ a demon hunter who is pure damage so I go for stun lock. If anyone has any tips on not to do board and sword let me know because I love the big two handers. Also, I havn't given WW a real try because I really dislike it compared to d2 but I'm trying to incorporate it sometimes just Hell definitively isn't the place. Oh btw im lvl 52.

I am lvl55 in act3 hell, big 2hand barb with 1.2k str and 950 vit Crit-frenzy type with revenge as heal. I basically use rend for HP too but only before using revenge so that my fury will be back to 100% for the damage bonus.

Using: 1. Leap with armor buff. 2. Revenge with 8% gain and 5 fury per mob hit. 3. Swaps between marauders shout and the 20% armor 10% life and 1% life regen buff. 4. Wraith of the Beserker with an additional 100% dmg. L. Frenzy. R. Whirlwind.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#biShVk!YbV!ZaZaaa +45% damage at all times from weapons master and battle rage whirlwind is my main damage and revenge whenever it procs, if i am in a group of mobs i can charge over and over to get more fury for more whirlwinds, or a cleave or 2 will give enough fury with the +fury glyph to allow more whirlwinds and i take the +armor passives and war cry to give me more mitigation so i can sustain whirlwinding through groups for that long I have a few barbarian questions if anyone wants to answer them: 1. Is bloodthirst worth it? it seems like a single health orb will heal a lot more than bloodthirst does throughout a whirlwind 2. How much does a shield increase mitigation, how much damage do i lose by using a shield, and what stats does a good shield have? 3. What makes a two hander better than 1h + shield, or dual wield? 4. How is ability damage calculated, dps of the weapon? top end damage of the weapon? how does dual wield affect the calculation? 5. What abilities allow a barbarian to have the most sustained damage mitigation? bloodthirst, tough as nails, threatening shout, etc? 6. How does the single target dps of whirlwind compare to other abilities like cleave or frenzy?

I generally keep 5 stack and pound 270% hammers, or whirlwind. Depending on the DPS of your weapon and what you're trying to accomplish, I definitely see maniac being viable.

If the DPS disparity between them is high, the poorer weapon effectively drags down your total DPS. When you're in higher difficulties and getting small incremental upgrades, it's conceivable that you could get 2 weapons that are both pretty good and benefit from the +15% IAS of dual wielding. But at lower levels, you get big leaps in item quality because you're leveling quickly, and getting items with big jumps in req. level to reflect that. The likelihood of keeping 2 weapons of similar quality for a long period of time and not finding a significant upgrade is pretty small. I don't think enough people have seen enough endgame items dropped to say exactly what will be best at level 60 Inferno, but in the stage of the game where you're leveling, and you get extremely significant upgrades on a regular basis, trying to stick with dual wielding is very unreliable. Does it matter what type of 1h you use? I'm thinking of leveling using the max fury build I saw posted earlier so weapons master as the passive would come into play.

I honestly thought it would be too big a change, but I'm getting used to it, and I have a hard time even choosing a skill i would ditch to have Leap back. oh i know how you feel. The deciding factor after countless beta hours as to which class to play was leap. ![]() I love mobility builds, leap and charge etc., so fun! I'm glad you're having success with the build. I just did a few runs with it myself. Right now I'm mixing it up, trying all sorts of things. I'm even trying a full dps solo build. I'm not sure my gear is good enough but it's fun to try. I kill shit so quickly but I don't have the survivability yet to handle some of the champion packs I could solo as a 'tanky build'. edit; also ive made a slight adjustment that i think is worth it in that solo inferno build. I replaced the heal on WW with the 143% fire damage because it seemed with my low, low crit (5% in my tank gear) i wasn't healing enough for it to be worth it. The extra AOE damage allowed me to clear faster and didn't sacrifice any surviablity. Right now, I'm trying to ditch WW all together for the 270% hammer. edit 2: trying so many different builds today.. not sure what will be the best after all of this haha.

Im using two-handed sword and the frenzy attack which makes me just as fast a Monk with a two hander basicly. Results? Insane damage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBAne8gTNs0 Normal is not hard. Try nightmare with a two-hander and you will get owned just like the rest of us. Honestly I would love two-handers to be great for barbs but it just doesnt seem like it.
