atm, I'm at 22k dps and 25k hp 300+ resist all around. More dps, or more survivability if you don't wanna be a glass cannon. Preferably at least 40k dps to kill stuff efficiently, although 30k dps should suffice. Also, learn to cast spirit walk quickly (can be a bitch due to lag) when you see shit (cats) jumping at you. I heard that wasp AI got nerfed, I hope that helps. You can probably use haunt to catch those fucking wasps when they keep moving away from splinter spam. If you keep dying at the first canyon at the very beginning, it's normal =( Just brute force through it. atm i'm just pushing through road through alcarnus. I have 1.6k int, 719 dps dagger with another 135 with mojo. so 854 all together. Idk what to do do up the overall dps to 30. Dont have the funds atm. literally 2k gold T_T the repair costs are out weighing the gold i get from items drops and loot.
Getting an extra 15% crit chance and a weapon with 80%+ crit damage will shoot your DPS way up, and will not be particularly expensive.

Keep farming him until you get more cash. You SHOULDN'T die when farming goblins...
About improving gear: Buy a 900+ dps weapon, preferably with a socket (put in an emerald of the best quality you can make/afford). For your offhand, look only at Kurastian Asps which can have a max damage of +110-405. Stack int/crit chance/crit dmg every piece of gear, if that affix spawns on it (legendaries with these are ridiculously expensive, stick to blues/yellows). Int: basically every item. Socketed items are good too. Stuff them with topazes. Crit chance: offhand, gloves, rings, amulet, bracer, helm. Crit dmg: weapon, gloves, rings, amulet. IAS: weapon, gloves, rings, amulet. Socket on helm to put an amethyst. You probably won't find all these attributes on a single item (too expensive), items with 2-3 of them should be decently priced. Vit/allres/armor are bonuses on these items, don't need to go all out to get them at this stage. Play safely and die less frequently.

I managed to get all my gear for less 100 k each item weapons included. I can find deals.

I recommend getting rid of soul harvest. Puts you in too much danger, especially with the increased repair costs.
Still figuring out what's VD.. voodoo dance? idk.

Because when you make modifications to things, it may have unintended effects elsewhere. Do you prefer patch 1.03 to be released now, or 1 year later?

Just use bats for a while. Both are extremely similar with each arguably better than the other.

Something that broken should be hot fixed immediately. Not thrown on the backburner for patch 1.04.

In my job we test things extensively on a TEST server.. and then on a QA server before launching live to customers. If they had to wait 2-4 weeks to test professionally, then fine by me. If they had to wait 1 year (did you REALLY say that?!), they REALLY need to get their stuff together.

If you want patches to come out faster, you get complaints about unintended bugs. If you want patches to be tested more thoroughly, people will complain about slow patches... It's a lose-lose situation.

A WD that has geared for zombie bears cannot easily switch specs to something else. My only high level character went from farming reasonably comfortably in Act3 pre-patch to being completely unable, even though Act3 was nerfed.
- I do not have increased move speed, I cannot kite darts/bats/firebombs/toads.
- I have a lifesteal weapon because it works well with zombie bears (LOH does not), but it's near worthless with other skills.
- I've stacked resistances (~700) and armor (~5k) so that I can run directly into the middle of packs of enemies and unleash zombie bears.
- I've balanced my mana regen items and skills to be able to pour out bears without running out of mana or having excess.
I guess it's due to the low proportion of players playing WD right now, but I'm remarkably disappointed that blizzard doesn't plan on fixing this until 1.04.

i personally know 3 WD's who have rerolled from this patch.
everyone in my group feels blizzard is going the wow route of having a FotM class.
dont worry WD will be OP next patch before being nerfed to oblivion again.

I feel your pain Slurgi. I have actually settled on another build I like for now but I wasnt really specced for anything in particular (IAS, Crit, Int, Vit, MF).
I was really enjoying bears using spirit walk and vessel for temporary invunerability with VQ and rain dance?? for the mana buff.
Can't quite believe they are not fixing it immdediately...

Can someone explain me how spirit walk exactly works? Started a WD in HC and dont want to risk experimenting
|
While you're spirit walking you get a speed boost, and can phase through enemies (but not waller-affix walls). You can use spirit walk while jailed, snared, frozen or even hooked by the butcher to escape. If enemies do 50% of your max hp to your decoy, you go back to normal wherever your ghost-self managed to get to. You DON'T get warped back or anything like that. Certain things like the butcher charge attack can blast your decoy AND then immediately gib you if you are still standing in the same spot, like say if you activated it at the last second. There's some weirdness with spirit vessel and spirit walk going off at the same time, but needless to say you want both skills on 95% of WD builds.

most important thing to know is that if you take 50% damage of your max life while Spirit Walked, Spirit Walk will break
