Yeah this is pretty terrible. They need to make the images come out in such a way that you dont move, it would be so much smoother.
What rune do you put on it? Ive liked duplicates so far just for maximum confusion.
when I run away with mirror images I want them to tank so I can get maxium distance
Boom. Inferno Diablo down with the crit-stun build. I ended up using explosive blast as my damage spell because it's the only spell you can spam while waiting for the frost nova cast animation. Build and stats below.
Really all it comes down to is if you can get that first good reset and have it chain. the only thing I've had a problem with elite wise is things like shielding (not immune minions, those are ezpznp cause the immune minions still get frozen).
So maybe you just aren't doing it right?
I'm trying out this build atm, it seems pretty good. I do die a lot to elite mobs with desecrate and frozen though. What items should i go for? Low vitality and a lot of life per second? Or Life per hit? Or should i stack a lot of vitality?
For those using Living lightning crit builds... what do you do with ranged mobs? If you can't get them grouped up and they're just sitting at range shooting, isnt it like impossible? T_T

If they're spread out, I run up to the biggest group (or just 1) and just start spamming living lightning and hope for procs so I can refresh the shield.
Oh, about getting caught with diablo's prison->grab thing: I found that by holding down or spamming shield while he's grabbing me, I could shield while I got slammed on the ground which kept me alive.

QFT My wizard in NM HC was running mouse1--disintigrate Obviously my main DPS spell Mouse2--Wave of Force---secondary large area aoe, also utilized when fleeing A-- Frost Nova--mainly used for stun lock, repositioning, or fleeing S-- Diamond Skin--allowed me to tank a few hits if need be....not sure if it will be worth it later on or if I should swap out for another armor type skill D-- Teleport---for fleeing F-- Magic Weapon---to raise dps
So Obviously this build was geared towards strong survivability (which totally failed when I came across a fireline+frozen mob) I was able to clear out most mobs very quickly with either just disintigrate, or if I knew I had a good start on them I would frost nova+wave of force for some mass shattering.
Obviously this build is not particularly optimized and I didnt utilize teleport nearly as much as I thought I could. My computer lags a bit when big groups show up and so I found I was rarely using teleport for retreating.
Generally I was very happy with the way this turned out at least through early nightmare (still early game I know).
Passives included Blur--for survival! evocation--allowed for a lot more novas, skins, and escaping As I died at 35 ish and didnt love to many of the other passives at that time. I started with Illusionist but didnt find it particularly useful for me so I swapped it out for Astral Presence to allow a much longer use of disintigrate
I don't really like the templar. His heal is really nice, but monsters just don't seem to target him, so his job as a tank is... well.. non-existent. I'm using the enchantress for her CCs.
I've been using templar just because his charge/heal ability is pretty nice and has saved me a few times and allows me to let Diamond Skin finish its cool-down. But like above posts have said, the CCs from the enchantress are pretty helpful, since companions do almost 0 damage at this level and can't tank at all.

I haven't used a single one, I feel they would just g et in the way.
Are you on Inferno? If so, that's impressive. The only thing that is bad about the followers is they never really shut up. So by the time you play through the game on Hell, you sorta just want to be able to set them on fire. But I am pretty sure most people use them, assuming they aren't in a group with other people.

how do you deal with the fire dot he occasionally spit out? also is that a vitality ring?
For the fire dot I just spammed Diamond Skin through it. In the cases where he got out a fireball, I usually died to the AE. One time I was able to Diamond Skin spam through it, but I think that was more luck than anything.
Yeah, the ring is my only piece of vita gear, mostly because it has crit and hp regen on it. It's only 23 vita though so it's acceptable.
Here's the VOD of the build in action against Diablo. Should make things more clear.

Yeah signature spells are actually pretty bad unless you're using them for some specific gimmic. I find i dont have enough time just sitting around to actually sit around and spam some derpy 150% magic missile. Put magic weapon in that slot and take disintegrate up another 15%
