For archon, the upgrades dAPhREAk mentioned should work well but for SnS you would want to prioritize getting the defenses and ias over damage. There are obviously some universal items that you could get that would be useful for multiple builds if you're unsure what you want to gear for first like inna's pants and lacunis.

What is exactly a "black weapon" I know its somekind of weapon with no + elemental damage? and which would be a weapon I should be aiming for (considering Im not that wealthy) +24% movementspeed is a stat on the boots right? Im farming act 3 keep right now is that fine? (even if act 1 or sth might be better using archon to blast through that is just fun ![]() Edit: and maybe some "price ranges" for decent items I should get next would be helpfull I obviously know that a perfect roll will increase the value of an item by a huge margin, but I should probably not aim for items of that caliber anyway and go with a little bit worse items ^.^

I question the combination of glass cannon/energy armor over storm armor/blur but that seems to be more of a personal preference. A black weapon is a weapon with + min/max damage that doesn't have an element associated with it. Your weapon of choice isn't as important as the offhand, I would just find some black weapon with some combination of cc/socket/life steal(i believe life steal is important for achon) and a Triumvirate. 24% move speed is gotten from boots(+12%) and another item - typically inna's pants or lacunis(bracers). The pants would be significantly cheaper so you'd probably want to go for those. As far as farming with archon goes, act 3 is the best. The monster density in acts 1,2, and 4 aren't high enough outside of a very few zones. Imo, your first few items should be weapon, triumvirate, 12% ms boots and inna's pants. I'm not sure about the prices on eu but for us, you could get most of these fairly cheap. weapon - 500k-1mil, triumvirate - 500k, inna's - 8mil, boots - 100k-500k

So if you bought gear 23 hours ago, and it's been 72+ hrs since last copy, although your copy will work, it will not have snap shorted anything that wasn't there 24+ hrs prior That's what I read and that seems to make sense, but be careful and double check around the Blizz forums in any case. You don't want to end up with a nasty error/bug preventing you from playing PTR.

I have looked at the AH (EU), and taken snapshots of what I would get if I were to buy something right then and there. So some patience and keeping an eye open will probably give better deals. But what do you think about these choices: Shoulders: Vile ward: 250 int, 70 AR, 300 life regen, big armour. (8M) Vile ward is kindof a no-brainer imo. I would like to get vit, +% life or pickup raidus as well, but then the price jumps up to over 60M, and not sure it is worth it. Maybe better to stay at 20M or so, and just get good rolls on the other stats. + Show Spoiler [FallDownMarigold] + On January 24 2013 11:27 FallDownMarigold wrote: Consider getting a VW with 250+ STR & 250+ INT, no VIT. Should be well under 20M -- if none are listed like that, keep checking, one will show up. This gives you potentially 900+ armor, which is Ok for archon, but outstanding for CMWW. This would be a great dual-use piece. Helmet: Mempo: 9% ias, 150 int, 10% life, socket, 75 AR. (2M) Probably the slot where I am the most confused. I would love a mempo with cc, but I am looking at 150M for even 3%. Should I go for vit? Or just take another helmet? Feels silly to walk around with APOC on an archon, so I dont want a storm crow. I am not thrilled by the +fire damage on andariels, and I can't get both AR and a socket... But an andariels with high int and AR rolls is well inside the budget otherwise, is that a better option? + Show Spoiler [FallDownMarigold] + On January 24 2013 11:27 FallDownMarigold wrote: Go for a low fire dmg% Andy's with more VIT or AR instead of non-CC mempo. Don't spend too much here though, because this item won't work for CMWW unless you're prepared to buy an APOC chant's with relatively low avg dmg (you'll need 2 APOC slots come time to run CMWW, so you'll end up needing a ~4CC/400+LOH stormcrow most likely, or a nice rare Wiz hat. Ammy: tal rashas: 6% elemntal damage, 60% cd, 250 int, 90vit, 5.5 cc (70M) I am going a bit above the budget here to get the cc, but the dps of this thing is ridiculous. Don't think rares, or anything else for that matter, can really compete. the elemental damage can be swapped for ias to make it a trifecta, but i couldn't find anything with as much dps for that price. Not a ot of that kind of rares on the market though, so sniping a nice rare trifecta may be an option. I am wondering how +minmax damage compares to cc, cd and ias as well... + Show Spoiler [FallDownMarigold] + On January 24 2013 11:27 FallDownMarigold wrote: Given your diverse goals and more importantly your budget, I'd highly recommend NOT buying that type of Tals ammy, because its use is generally restricted to non-CMWW, meaning you'll have to swap it eventually once you opt into CMWW For CMWW you require lots of IAS, and sacrificing IAS on a jewelry slot is tricky, especially if starting from the ground up. It would be nice for your archon setup, but it won't serve as a dual-use item. I have a CMWW ammy and a Tal's, so this is my recommendation based on experience rather than theory, if that helps. So all that being said, consider going for a high CC/IAS+INT ammy, perhaps with avg dmg to add more sheet dps for your archon mode while retaining CMWW utility. Try to add LOH here as well -- if not, remember that you will want 600+ LOH somewhere in order to start a basic CMWW spec. Gloves: rares: 7.5% cc, 40% cd, 8% ias, 80 int. (50M) Not much discussion that rares win here. Not sure how to balance the four stats to get maximum dps, and that also depends on how the rest of the gear is. But I guess something like this shouldn't be a complete waste of money. Maybe skip ias, and get higher rolls on the other, but not sure that will actually give higher dps. Body: Tal rashas: 9% ias, 150 int, 65 AR, 40 vit, 3 sockets. (50M) I was tempted to go with zunis set for the set bonuses, but the ring is so expensive to get with decent cc or ias, that I decided that it was not worth it. Now I can also double the tal rashas in my cm/ww build, so think this is the better choice. Bracers: lacunis: 8% ias, 12% MS, 5.5%cc, 70 int. I already got these (traded them after finding similar with +dex), and I have no intention of changing them. They were worth around 60M back then, not sure how much the price has fallen since... Are there other options in this slot? These can double in the cm/ww build as well. Belt: witching hour: 80 int, 60 AR, 9%ias, 40 cd (40M) No, there is no defensive stats, but what do I care? I'm an archon. :D In all seriousness though, this is just too much off-slot damage to turn down. And they can double in the cm/ww build. I'll just have to kill stuff before they get to me, and specially with the incoming nerf to reflect damage, shouldn't be too bad. I didn't even look at other options. rings: rares: 90 int, 8% ias, 25 cd, 4.5 cc (45M) rare trifectas best imo, but there are options... For example zunis set, that ring doesn't really have enough dps to temp me much, and I'd ahve to give up the ias on the body armour if I want the set bonus. I was tempted by the 2 set natalyas (ring + boots) for a while, but again, crazy expensive to get a decent ring. There are a few legendaries that I honestly haven't looked into much, but can they compete with rares? Maybe the + vs elites on stone of jordan is worth it, not sure... If I feel that my defence is too low (very likely...) I may try to squeeze in som vit and/or AR on the rings, giving up some dps. + Show Spoiler [alQahira] + On January 24 2013 14:10 alQahira wrote: For the archon build, you get a huge dps boost by going for zuni's boots and even a low end pox (avg damage is the cheapest way to boost dps). Obviously for cm/ww the ice climbers are better. A search gives: zunis pox: 43 average damage, 170 int, 68 AR, 33 cd (+set bonus 130 int) (37M) Pants: innas: 9% ias, 1% cc, 12% MS, 80 int, 2 sockets. These go with the ice climbers, as they (with the lacunis) take the MS away from the boots. The ias (and that sexy 1% cc) can double in the cm/ww. Again low (no) defence, so maybe I'll have to get vit from the sockets... weapon: rare: 1100 dps, 60 cd, socket. (50M) just the best black weapon I can find, with CD and socket. Maybe with int if that gives more damage. I ahve also noticed that getting a pretty high vit roll om the weapon is very cheap (as everyone just stares at the dps and cd) so maybe keep an eye out for that. Life steal? tempting, but then you go down to 930 dps if you want to keep the cd, socket and price. With the nerf to reflect damage, maybe it is enough with the 1.5% from blood magic (yes, you lose 5% damage on the rune, but you gain 20% damage on the weapon). Boots: ice climbers: 250 int, 75 vit, 75 AR, 12% life, socket (35M) In the ned I decided that the best choice is to move all move speed off-slot, and go with the ice climbers. Maybe the reason is partially emotional, as I ove all the weird off-slot things (socket in boots??) it includes, but the stats on these guys are just impossible to match for that price. The defence here may make up for some of the low defence in several other slots. can get more vit in the socket if needed. + Show Spoiler [alQahira] + On January 24 2013 14:10 alQahira wrote: For the archon build, you get a huge dps boost by going for zuni's boots and even a low end pox (avg damage is the cheapest way to boost dps). Hmm, you say andys is the better choice. Won't I get too weak? mempo gives A LOT of life if I socket accordingly. Depends on the rest of the gear I guess. But I don't really like the mempo choice either. :/ Maybe I'll just go for a cheap andys as you say. Maybe I was staring myself a bit blind on the dps on tals ammy. You bring up very good points. LoH would be great for the archon as well actually, as I am considering skipping LS on my archon weapon. A bit sad to let CD go, but I guess I can get enough on rings, gloves and belt. edit: I'll leave the above post with my original text and your comment. I'll give some time for others to read, but later I'll redo the searches according to your input and update the post.

And yeah don't feel too bad about losing some CD on the ammy if it comes to that. Archon is great for MP1, and crankin that to 2 or 3 isn't really worthwhile for archon farming til much higher dps (and only slightly better loot/xp), so you're fine with your 200k goal. In other words you can afford the cd loss on your ammy since you arent aiming at 300k+ archon or something. Another thing to think about later is chant's + stormcrow imho
