Don't think you are strong enough so that MP4 is most efficient XP or loot with archon. MP1 at most imo, possibly MP0. And upgrade your ruby in the helm. You are loosing millions of XP per hour with a low level ruby.

Otherwise I don't think I can help you much... As you have high CD, but pretty low CC, maybe you should look into ways to up the cc a bit? But tricky whit many of your normal cc slots occcupied with items that are hard to get cc on (mempo, hellfire, lacuni).

Why do you use frost nova with an archon build? Wouldnt an armor be better or am I missing something? Scramble for speed, force armor for defence, or pinpoint for dps.

When i do mp4 , i put frost nova diamond skin and living lightning to reduce cooldown of archon

with archon build I can 1hit the mobs at depth keep lv2 at mp1/2 but I'm having trouble with some mobs at arreat crater lv2 at those mp. So, how does the exp of just speedrunning through depth keep lv2 nonstop for an hour fare with the current method of dk2/rhakis cross/arreat crater lv2?

Do an experiment. See how much xp you can get just doing keep 2. My guess is that it is going to be significantly less than the Arreat2->Keep2->Rakkis run because you don't get NV up for any meaningful length of time.

Not necessarily. Some people, like me, have lots of lag (largely due to playing on a craptop, oops I meant mac laptop). I could totes keep archon up and running if I had better lag, but having better lag isn't the case, so workarounds are nice (such as dropping a passive buff in favor of diamond skin to help regain archon when lag stuttering causes progress to halt and archon to drop)

I'm still shocked every time I'm reminded that you use CM SNS on a macbook. For me there is a huge difference in xp efficiency in archon farming between running on my PC and on a 2009 macbook pro, things are just so much smoother with a reasonable box. I'm pretty sure SNS would brick my laptop.

Ok so basicly i'm gonna start with some D3 again after not playing since like a weak after release, i have a 60 wizzard but like 150k gold and "no" items. I realise i wont be able to buy this things at once but what items should i start saving towards in order to be able to farm well anywere?, What i'm asking is there somewhere i can get information on what i should be gearing towards? I find it rather confusing searching arround for items with diffrent stats not really sure what is high and low not wanting to buy suboptimal shit for a long while before i realise what i need.

you can start farming inferno act 3 for 150k

if you mean melt-face fast then that will probably be i dunno 10 million with most of it spent on weapon
but it really doesn't take much in the way of gear to farm well with archon

you want the standard stuff, life steal, good dps weapon.. crit chance and damage and intelligence. attack speed is nice but not as important. and 24% move speed would be good, but really if you only get 12% its not the biggest deal especially with the buff to teleport archon coming

post patch blizzrd farming is going to be real easymode too though and probably require the least in the way of gear to farm well

Oh, wow. Didn't realize were getting CM procs on Archon TP. That might be pretty huge.

so instead of reviewing the patch notes myself, i was hoping one of you guys already familiar with it (or on the PTR) would already know. i'm still farming with my sustained archon build, but the shocknado build just looks like so much more fun. i think imma slowly start upgrading my gear accordingly.

my question is, is this worth it with the upcoming patch? will SNS remain the exact same, or will there be any noticeable buffs or nerfs? what is with this new blizzard talk with the patch, will it be the new shocknado build and should i work towards that instead?

it is getting buffed in the sense that higher mps are going to be more rewarding xpwise. the other buff would be reflect damage being nerfed but it still hurts a ton but on and off, so id say that stays the same as we just pound on regardless if its on or off.

So I am almost fully converted from archon to cm wiz. Just had a few questions about my next step.

As I see it these are my options
Get some prowlers with crit but would take quite a hit in stats
or
Get rid of the soj and get an as/cc/ar ring instead (dont think the dps hit will be worth it)
or
lose alot of dps (and money :D) getting a trifecta amy with 9as/9cc/50ish%cd

Cant afford anything like a good apoc chanto or cc memph so thats out of the question

wheres ur cc? its way too low and you would benefit from more ias too, need 54% to hit 2.73 aps breakpoint... so yeah leave the soj for pvp and the hellfire for xp runs (no cc either) and change them both for some rares with 5cc each + 11-12 ias combined + what ever you can add in there like ar, loh, int, av dmg. that would put you in a comfortable 50cc and 2.73 aps place. next thing you should worry about is getting your ar higher as your armour,life, loh and apoc are fine. easiest slot is def the bracers as you have a big enough life buffer that you sack some vit there too for some rare bracers with armour + ar + minimum same cc. strongarm suck for cm the knockback is very annoying.

Dont need to touch the ammy as its got massive cd making up for the lack of socket in wand.

What type of damage is reflect damage? Arcane? Same as you inflict (which would also be arcane I guess...)?

I was thinking to squeeze in some extra single resist (which is very cheap on wiz gear) against it, as it is my by far most common cause of death. Screw life steal, too expensive.

In general physical damage is the most common, although with CM wizards you're more worried about ranged damage than melee (since everyone should be frozen). Remember that reflect damage is getting nerfed into a sometimes on, sometimes off ability next patch, so I wouldn't gear too heavily against it, although physical resist is always useful.
