Boots with +12% ms, chest armor with max disc, shoulders with higher dex roll, helm with socket. Obviously u are building glass cannonish (u don't have roughly any all res) so i would consider u to build up more cd (u have nice cc already). It means that u need a weapon with socket and/or base crit.
Overall, nice build, u kill things fast but u need more survivability which comes from more disc and some all res. Helm with socket gives u a lot more hp so u can lose some vit for upgs

I am in a similar situation, I am aiming for an act 3 farming with 70-100% base MF, good survivability (I hate dieing too often) and decent speed. I know this is probably the most expensive idea, this is why I am not sure in which direction should I take my gear upgrades from here.
I recently switched from 2h xbow because I find dual wielding way more fun, and I plan to stay on this route. What to upgrade next, and how much would that cost roughly? EU SC.

just my usual build, good for clearing mob and cluster bomb for elites. Also with my Nat set I can just skip to the elites, swap about 2-3 pieces of mf, pretty ok overall.

If I encounter them, my best hope is to mainly get them down by attrition, which means some deaths. I can survive until I use up my discipline, then it's death. So, it's like a race between whether I can kill them before running out. Any ideas/strategies that you are using? My char: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Azzur-1861/hero/13202826Build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aPSgXV!Yeg!YcZYZbAt the moment, an idea is to stack more Physical Resist because it's cheaper to obtain. Or am I just wasting my time and should be focusing on increasing DPS? What solutions do you recommend for me? Bear in mind that I'm also cost constrained (7 mil) - but if money is the only way around it, then I'll just farm more. I made this post earlier about Phase Beast elites. Since then, I've had no trouble with Soul Rippers now.
I received advice about builds and did some research on possible tactics to combat them. I find I don't have too much issues if I have kiting room. However, the main difficulty is when I enter an area (e.g. Tower Level 2) and I'm immediately struck by a Phase Beast elite pack. I don't see any way past them other than taking them down by attrition - e.g. I'll unload all my hatred on one and spend my discipline. If I kill one, can quickly zone out and regen everything. If I die, I can res with a full hatred bar and kill one hopefully. I guess this strat will be even more effective in 1.04 as I maybe am able to zone out and the mobs won't heal to full.
Now, this is viable if I pull some ok affixes - if I hit something along the lines of invulnerable minions, illusionist, extra health, etc, I pretty much am stuck. Also, I find that elite packs are harder, champions seem to have less health.
I'm currently wearing my MF gear but with my "full" gear, I have around 320 AR (380 physical resist), 35k HP, 3100 armor, 53k DPS (no SS). I have several different pieces, so I can gear for more AR if needed (but will lose either HP, armor or DPS). One thing I've tried is to position myself unto a wall so I can't get surrounded, but often I find I can still get hit by multiple. Is it possible to position yourself to only get hit by one?
Is there any other possible strats? Maybe throwing down lots of caltrops + spike traps beforehand. However, that will require a drastic change in build and it's a pity to spec for just one type of mob. Maybe even using the templar follower (instead of the scoundrel)? Maybe I can get him to tank a bit first? Will this work?
The main issue for DHs is that phase beasts dish out incredible amounts of damage. I get 2-hit without gloom (even if I raise my AR to 500) and even with gloom on, I take alot of damage. Thus, I don't think stacking defensive stats is a viable strat - is this correct? I look forward to 1.04 where mobs don't heal to full and I can cheese them out lol.
Lastly, the only way forward seems to be being able to dish out the DPS? I'm going to start upgrading my rings + amulets to crit% and CD%.

Phasebeasts often end up just being a gear check since the maps they spawn in are small and they have a natural ability to teleport. The best method is to just avoid them completely if you don't have the gear to take them down by skipping the Tower of the Damned. If they spawn in the Core, you can park mobs at the zone entrance and take the waypoint to skip them.
Really, there isn't much strategy against them... You can caltrops kite or snare kite if you have room, you can try to zone/waypoint abuse, or you can get the gear to kill them under SS/Gloom. Has anyone ever gotten a pack of Invulnerable Horde PBs right at the entrance of the tower? Who thought that was a great idea?

Yeah... I can't think of any "solution" to phasebeast elites besides just killing them before they kill you. Its like they have a free Affix, and they naturally just hit hard as fuck.
Have you considered using Backup Plan instead of Battle Scars for your Preparation rune? Perhaps if you had more than one bar of Discipline, you could be sure to take out enough of them to make progress, or perhaps even enough to make the rest manageable without dying. Granted, that would only happen 30% of the time, but that's better than 0%.
Maybe if you run Vault, you could actually get far enough away to de-aggro them or split them up. Their Teleport does have a cooldown, whereas your Vault is only limited by your Disc. Of course, the thing here is that you need somewhere to Vault TO. Backwards into cleared area would be ideal, but that's not always possible. You want to make sure you can end up somewhere that you can secure and recover.

Hi everybody,
I'm currently farming act 2 before attacking act 3 in inferno, however with my stuff i feel like i'm kind of stuck. It seems like when i buy items worth 1 million i gain just a few DPS. I feel like i would need to buy a new weapon but i really don't know what to aim for. This is my hero http://eu.battle.net/d3/fr/profile/Furlisht-2840/hero/315556
I don't really know what to look after for new weapons, i have a 996 dps weapon but i don't know how to see if a weapon is better than mine. For example if i have a 850 dps weapon with +100 crit, will it be better than a 950 dps with 50 crit? How can you calculate efficiently this kind of information in order not to buy something for nothing ;-)?
Thanks!

Also, why are you using archery over steady aim? Archery is 15% bonus for bows, and Steady Aim gives 20%. Ideally you'd want to use both of them and not use sharpshooter.

Thanks a lot, i'll try that, i thought sharpshooter was a must have so i didn't considered the others.

From what I can tell, Sharpshooter is only good if you have a build that can take full advantage of the 1 seconds worth of guaranteed crits when it's fully charged. If you're not running a build that can dump most/all of a Hatred bar on a mob in about 1 second (Loaded for Bear, Cluster Bombs, Fan of Knives/Traps, and probably some other builds that I don't even know exist), then Sharpshooter is only worth a few crit%.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do not mean to spam my post, I just really do not want to waste 20+ million stupidly on an upgrade that is not cost efficient...with the coming patch I am thinking of skipping weapon upgrades and maybe spend 5-10 million on MF shoulders, then wait out what the patch brings about? I already got myself a Grand Exalted Impellor plan, hopefully can craft something nice on day 1-2 of 1.04

you could get better bows with crit dmg+ socket. nat helm with socket is cheap in NA not sure about EU.

I got once a PB elitepack with molten, vortex, arcane and mortar affixes at the entrance of dungeon (the last one before azmodan). Well, i decided to skip that pack and move on. I just ran past them when the funny part came. PB rare pack with invulnerable horde fast vortex affixes :D. So i was standing between 2 impossible packs for my gear. I had 5nv stacked for azmodan (which i ofc beat easily) and couldn't get my way past those bastards :|

I'm excited about the upcoming DH preview - hope it gives us a (much needed) buff to survivalbility. Don't think we need a buff to damage but maybe a buff to some useless skills.

Rain of Vengeance got a huge buff lol. Hope I can replace it for cluster bomb. Current: 75% weapon damage for 5 seconds
1.0.4: 715% weapon damage over 5 seconds
