Well my azmo run doesn't include cydea, cause I dont know which quest it is and am too lazy to figure it out. Shes probably a bitch anyway, with her projectiles one shotting me. My azmo run is building stacks in stonefort and running from arreat crater lvl1 all the way down to core of arreat, then azmo. Yea 1.5-2 hrs, I try to get as many rare mobs as possible cuz of the guarenteed rare drops etc. You think 24.5% crit chance is enough to ditch SS? interesant will try on my next run. I got attack speed on my rings an amulet, because at this dps I still kite a lot, and i can maximize my damage while stutter stepping at ~1.90 attacks per second. Anything higher would be useless. Although I see how attack speed doesnt play into cluster bombs, most trash mobs in my act3 run I dont want to cluster bomb; i want to keep my distance with spray. But I agree I need crit chance / damage on my jewelry, after I get my 1330 bow. Spent 4m on 2 rings combined, and like 10-13m on that amulet My life with reflect mobs. Not too bad as long as I have half the level to kite on. Cluster bombs really knocks out the blues and minions super fast. You just HAVE to use caltrops so you can time and distance your double cluster volley for SS.
Oh ya and at the mid range dps build im at, the crowd control on my gear is awesome. I'm 100% sure cluster arrow's AOE takes on the CC, and pretty sure spray of teeth's aoe does as well. Its basically a free stun caltrop on fast elites. And I picked up the majority of those pieces for well under 2m even 1m.

To get Spider, start on the Second Heart quest.
It's not really about how much crit chance you have to drop Sharpshooter, it's more that Steady Aim will just give you a bigger boost in damage output.
Spray of Teeth fairs worse than other runes with such a low crit chance and the AOE critical spray doesn't proc on hit effects. If you want to utilize on hit effects to the fullest, Cinder Arrow is going to be your go to skill as the ticks stack, but you may have more trouble with reflect damage. Use Devouring for the most single target damage, Shatter for most group target damage, Puncturing for the middle ground. It's all preference, really.

I'm starting to wonder how long I should be taking to complete my azmo run, from stonefort ~10mins, arreat crater lvl1 to azmo?
|
Quick question: What rune should I be using with Hungering Arrow? I'm using Cluster Arrow for damage if that has any relevance.
|
I used devouring arrow back when I used a 2 hander. But after I switched to dual wield, I foudn spray of teeth to have way more effective DPS. Mind you, I've got something liek 47% crit chance.

Devouring. Spray of teeth outpaces devouring when you have very high crit chance and you are hitting more than 1 target.

has anyone been using fan of knives successfully (Inferno Act 2~3)?? if so I would like to know the build and maybe some gears that are specifically required

I'm currently farming Warrior's Rest. What's the best hallway clearing skill if I'm not running a crit heavy build? Ball lightning seems to be working well, just looking to see if there are better options.

I have been using it, just not successfully lol. Mainly 'cos my xbow's dmg is <1k dps. I would think it's good if u have a 1.2 dps xbow.

Ball lightning seems to be working well, just looking to see if there are better options. I just use Multishot / Fire at Will for act 1 running (50k dps w/o SS, 90k with SS). I'm a little strong for act 1 but a little weak for act3, and multishot clears shit in act 1 really well for me.

Also: I'm currently using Steady Aim+Sharpshooter+Archery... my base crit chance is 30%. Should I drop one for Tactical Advantage yet? When should I drop sharpshooter, and should I switch out one of the others?
|
I have 25% crit chance, and I think Sharpshooter still benefits me a lot, but this could be different for 30% I'm not sure. I do run tactical advantage and it helps me survive quit a bit. Doesn't matter what you switch it out for, archery or steady aim, but steady aim does increase damage by 20%, thats alot

I've never been a fan of sharpshooter. Especially at higher gear level you randomly crit all the time making it reset.
It also kinda counters itself. You want to not crit that much to make it stack up, but then it increases your crit chance so you lose it faster. And the faster you lose it the less effect it has. And if you never crit, then you get up to really high crit level, which might seem good, but if you never crit that also means the bonus of it seldom is in effect. Overall it just seems messy and counteracting itself. Its like its designed for someone who goes afk between every pack :p
That said, its impossible to calculate exactly how much dps you gain by it, making it more of a personal prefecrence thing. If you're happy with it, keep using it. Personally I doubt its ever better than Steady aim or Archery.

I like sharpshooter in my build, even with high base crit (46% here). The reason is I do a lot of burst damage with cluster bombs (heavy hatred cost, so you can't spam it), and sharpshooter helps maximize the damage of this skill.

Same here. I haven't played my DH in while now but fully stacked SS and a direct hit with two cluster bombs pretty much one shots everything. It has happened several times in act 2 were I spot a particularly nasty type of elite pack (use your imagination) and I just unload my hatred in fear of dying and "accidentally" one shot the entire pack before having any time to even think about my MF gear.

quick question: why do I see a lot of DHs having smoke screen and shadow power(gloom) at the same time if both uses the same resource(discipline)?
isn't it better to just use smoke screen anyway?

it's likely that gloom is used for reflect damage mobs.

I use smoke screen only to get out of really bad situations: escape jailer, run through arcane sentries, frozen, etc. The normal situation for me is: run around, take a few hits, activate gloom to recover hp and clean up mobs if needed.

I use both gloom and ss. Gloom is primarily reflect and for emergency heals. SS for everything else (cc escape, firewalls, etc)
