I can kinda understand the outcry on her accent, but this: Digging deeper, I know why she bothers so many of us here. is getting ridiculous.It's called confirmation bias. Leave it at the accent, speed, and knowledge- everything else, you're reaching. | ||

And sure, while we can't judge the core personality of anybody through the net, even if we could, I don't think it would really matter. Personality aside, kelly is mediocre if not just flat out bad at many somewhat objective important aspects of casting: most importantly, game knowledge/analysis and voice quality/clarity. And beyond that, I think she does lack a certain amount of professionalism that Tasteless and Artosis each have, despite the fact that they joke around a lot. And, while I'm not sure how to measure this, she doesn't seem to add much to the excitement of the game, which is probably the whole point of casting anyways. For example, even though I don't understand Korean, watching bw matches with korean casters and hearing them talk so energetically throughout the whole thing still can make the match very exciting, even though I don't know what they're saying. With kelly, I can't really understand what she's saying AND she makes me bored. | ||

Lots of people have accents, but most of us understand them. What I'm saying is I don't think it's the accent that is the problem, I think she has a speech impediment. She twists the sounds of her words adding r sounds and w sounds sort of like Elmer Fudd. Plus lots of words are just plain mispronounciations...for example, she pronounces "barracks" as "burrAX". | ||

While I do agree with most of his points, I don't think we'd be discussing it if she were male. A lot of commentators are arrogant pricks sometimes and we let it slide, because they're male. I guess we just don't like seeing a girl act as masculine as Kelly does. So yeah, all of that stuff should be set aside, and we should judge her purely on her casting. Which is horrible. But let's please not bring personal stuff into the discussion, because that really does validate the claim of trolling. | ||

I don't think anyone here cares about her arrogance or not (I didn't really notice it). But her being female really has nothing to do with it. If a male was hired who casted the same exact way that Kelly does, everyone would be just as upset about it. I agree with you, she is just a terrible caster, and the fact that she is posting negative things about the TL community calling everyone trolls and haters is not helping her at all. That comes with the territory and you have to learn to ignore it just like most pro gamers do. Most of the guys on Team Liquid don't even read the threads that have to do with a tournament they played in (at least that's what they said on State of the Game). She's no Idra, she can't be a dick to people and still be loved, because Idra is one of the best at what he does, Kelly clearly is not. | ||
