I think she is a native English speaker. But with Singapore accent.
Oh? Well, regardless, she has an accent, and it'll be a hurdle that will be impossible to overcome.

Hm. For someone who writes alot, you don't really address anyone's concerns. You're as much of a flamer as anyone here buddy.
Absolutely nothing of what you said will help Kelly suddenly speak english better.
If I decide to pay for GOM streaming, then I obviously feel entitled to UNDERSTAND what I'm watching. Am I wrong?
And yes. One day is all she deserves. Because if in that first day, she still casts like she did in that DOTA tournament that I just streamed off youtube, then HOW exactly do you figure she'll suddenly improve to perfectly understandable english? Hmmm?
And seriously. What's with the analogy ... someone asking whether i deserve to live or die? Are you serious? Wtf is that about.
Sorry but, posters like you don't really think before you write. People have legitimate concerns about being able to understand and enjoy what's looking to be one of the best Code A match lineups since the beginning of the GSL. And you're telling me.. what.

That just MAYBE ... they're looking out for the game that they've loved since they were kids.

As far as i'm concern all the reason you listed ARE legit. The fact that she's been a caster for so long shows her dedication, and i respect that. Look at her youtube page, she has like 200 subcribers. I don't know how much revenue she gets from that, but cna't be that much. The only way to make esport grow is to support all the members of the community. To just go out there and DO something for it. Kelly is doing that. We should be supporting her and giving her feedbacks. She already said she'll try her best. What more do you want of her?

I'm dissapointed in GOM. Once again they make a decision that is so far removed from what their customer base wants. And to think we actually pay money to watch one fo the least liked casters atm.

The difference being now she casts in the biggest Starcraft 2 Tournment and is going to be on salary and people holding her to required standards. As far as I know, before, she was just doing this out of the bed for a couple of dollars from youtube as a hobby. Maybe a tournament stream every now and then.
Having Gom support her as well as the expertise of Tasteless and Artosis should help her brush up her act much quicker.

But as it is, people are not even willing to give her ONE day to prove herself. Not even willing to give her feedbacks and help her improve. I just don't think that's fair.
Think of the first day working, you'd be nervous as hell.
If after say a week, and she blatantly ignores all feedback or make no conscious effort to improve then i'll be one of the first to say 'gtfo'.
People would be much more likely to give her time to prove herself if it wasn't for the fact that she's been around for a while already without showing any change and when their major complaint isn't exactly something she can go and change easily even if she does put effort into it.
Sticking someone in a more important position doesn't somehow mean that they're going to get a ton better at what they do. That makes no sense at all, if that was the case you could just take any random person and give them this same position and by that logic well they're casting the biggest SC2 tournament so they're definitely gonna get better at it and do good.

stop using esports for an excuse for every damn thing. i stated my opinion about kelly before so i wont do it again, but i am sick of this stupid esports talk. no we dont have to support everybody who tries to do something in the scene. we have to support the people that are good at it! i dont give a damn how hard someone tries. i dont have to like it and i wont support it just for the sake of esports.
and if people dont like the work of a certain caster and dont want to see him/her casting the biggest starcraft 2 tournament in the world right now than they have all the right to make their opinion heard, instead of saying "ill suck it up for the sake of esports".
I agree, if after she gets her chance and she's still terrible then the viewership gets every rights to demand a change.

Yeah... that is completely irrelevant to what I said. And again that's a completely different situation. He hadn't previously been doing that for an extended period of time while not being very good at it then suddenly became good at it when he started working there. She is a very mediocre caster that is hard to understand that you somehow think will become a good caster that is understandable because she's working at GOM. He was someone who could speak English and Korean that got a new job and over time got used to being an interviewer. If you think those situations are even remotely similar then I don't even know what to say to you.
Awww, the new archon name suggestions thread got closed... For Tasteless + KellyMilkies I'd like to suggest: TESTIE and it'll look something like this:
I'm from Singapore and even I find her accent very hard to follow. There are many Singaporeans who have a better grasp of english than that. Also, I don't believe that she has the game sense and knows enough about the game at a pro level
For people who say that she'll improve over time. Sure she will, however this is THE GSL, the pinnacle of anything SC2, and she's getting paid to be a professional caster. Her employer charges the public for premium content and I'm sure us as customers want the best content possible. I don't believe she will offer that, at least not for quite some time although I'm sure she'll learn under Artosis and Tasteless.
This isn't some random online tournament. If it was, I wouldn't mind who's casting. But since this is the GSL, she's not the right choice for GOM. That's just my opinion though...
