Essentially, djWHEAT was saying that Tasteless and Artosis, while totally awesome, should start acting more professionally because of the sheer magnitude of the tournament. Not so much that "we want eSports to be serious" but more that "they're not taking it seriously enough at all." GOM seems to be throwing things together just so that they can finish. It's like waking up one morning and just quickly throwing together some answers for the homework that you didn't do the night before. How is giving seeds to top players who are actually going to be in korea for GSL. Giving seed to players liek Sjow is like giving a tsl invite to IMmvp and him saying i might come TSL, but i might not. Sjow applied for GOM house after the deadline implying he does not want to play in the current GSL. Also GOM just gave us new maps and set up a foreigner house and changed the tournament format, all for the audience. So please dont make baseless remarks. I'm sorry, but I don't think your reply covers any part of what I said very well.
The part about players just makes no sense, both grammatically and because I wasn't talking about it at all.
New maps? Yay. Expected, not a new thing.
Foreigner house? Cool! I like it. There is still the problems with people affording to stay in Korea because of how quickly the prize money drops, but I still like that they did this.
Tournament format? So? At times it was completely incomprehensible. They had to change it. You seriously want us to be praising them for fixing a screw up? I only give praise when it's deserved (e.g., foreigner house).
So, no, I didn't make baseless remarks. You did.

If only one spot is being given, I can't understand why TorcH wasn't the choice unless he denied it.

They should fire their new caster before she has even casted a single match because you dont think you will like her?
They need a Code A caster, Tastosis was (were?) becoming tired in the early rounds of Jan and it really showed. In later rounds were the days were less busy they were far more entertaining.

GOM needs to wise up if they want to keep running the world's premier SC2 league. There are plenty of other organizations out there who would love to take their place. This post is REALLY unfair to gom considering they just did the best thing that has happened to the community since launch: use new maps. Yes this decision is questionable, but they had a process for selecting foreign players for Code A and they had a process for this (tho it seems meh). You make it sound like they keep fucking up when that simply isn't true. They have done a lot more good than bad. Hell, they just got Intel to sponsor them. In an ever more common trend of mine, I'll point out what was said in a recent State of the Game podcast by, I believe, iNcontroL. It was about Blizzard but still applies: we're getting all grateful for something they should do. It helps them make all this money and we're just sitting here saying "wow, that was so great of them! I LURV YOU!" It's not like major Korean SC tournaments hadn't broken the "new map barrier" before. This was incredibly expected and was just a matter of time, not some revelation. You make it sound like doing what works is bad. If i'm supposed to save a drowning kid and I do it, it doesn't diminish what I did just because I was supposed to, or that someone else did the same thing yesterday. This is an absurd argument. Gom is doing things right atm. I wish they would have gotten another caster but at least they did something rather then run Tasteless/Artosis to death with the constant casting. I'm sorry, my eyes might be deceiving me, but I think you just compared me talking about new maps to not saving a child from drowning. That's really appropriate.
And, no, I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying that it's good but that it wasn't this amazing invention or anything. We knew it was going to happen. That doesn't completely cheapen that they did it, but it does mean that it isn't this awesome new thing like the foreigner house.
I'm thinking that your argument is the more absurd, don't you?

You'll probably want to make a new thread with this, as I seriously doubt very many people will look this far into this thread (while actually reading everything) and end up voting. I do think it would be nice to have an idea how overwhelmingly we're against her, though. That would be a nice stat to pull out to show how bad the choice is. I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to make a thread for a poll. :/ Not if you outline the discussion and talk about it yourself. I've done it several times and have had long, fruitful threads that come from the poll. Never been banned or warned for it. Could you do it? I need to go to bed. It's already 1AM here and I have work tomorrow . You know, considering the closing of the last thread, I'm a little afraid to do it, lol.

Finally the actual annoucement. All the best Kels! Looking forward to Code A this time, plenty of foreigners, and some SEA representation wheeee!

So what was Wolf's announcement....?

However, due to many constraints that we were faced with including but not limited to time, geographical location, schedule conflicts and personal issues of other applicants, we could not help but choose an applicant who satisfied all the conditions and also had the talent for casting. I think this cannot be stressed enough, especially for people situated relatively far away from the Asian area.
Perhaps it would've been better for Moletrap or Wolf to cast, though they probably have extensive scheduling and logistical issues to handle before being able to cast a single game in Code A.
As for Torch, until we get definitive information about his decision, I don't think it would be wise to just assume that they picked Kelly over Torch for her casting "merits." Perhaps Torch had major schedule conflicts with casting Code A. Perhaps his paper resume didn't look as impressive. We just don't know.
Until then, the best we can do is provide feedback for Kelly while criticizing GOM for their decision. GOM knows that they made a controversial decision, and it is very likely that should Kelly underperform during GSL, they may reconsider her casting position. Heck, perhaps Kelly will undergo a complete transformation into a casting Bonjwa during her tenure at GSL Code A. Only time will tell.

They're not doing it for us. It's not a favor. They aren't trying to be nice. They want to make a profit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it's hard to take them seriously when they make hasty, ill-thought, and unpopular decisions like this.
There's no need to commend them for adding new maps. They did it because it was a smart (and expected) move from a business stand point.
They've made plenty of mistakes. They seem disorganized. It's worth pointing out.
P.S. It's probably not wise to derail the thread with arguments about Code A seeds. If you want to know what I meant, you'll find what you're looking for in my post history.

I actually don't mind her accent but I do mind the speed and the tone in which she speaks. Hopefully with artosis and tasteless there with her she could improve. If she doesn't improve by the end of the season GOM did say in the statement that the search still continues so replacement is more than likely.
