Lately there's been a pattern of GOM making decisions that are unpopular, and have no real rational explanation. This is a lot like the selection of foreigners seeded in Code A. It seems like GOM is making haphazard decisions based on cost and expediency, instead of building a strong and consistent organization. It's as though they woke up the morning before their big exam and realized they never studied anything. People often say things like "This isn't bad for such short notice" or "They have to make some compromises in order to get someone quickly." That's fine for most situations, but GOM is running the world's largest esports tournament. This is supposed to be a serious organization, with serious sponsors, giving away serious money. It really seems pretty disorganized though. I really hope Kelly does well, but that doesn't mean picking her was a smart decision. GOM needs to wise up if they want to keep running the world's premier SC2 league. There are plenty of other organizations out there who would love to take their place. I agree. This is something that people really should be considering. I think that djWHEAT and Chill did a great job discussing this on one of the older Weapon of Choice podcasts. Essentially, djWHEAT was saying that Tasteless and Artosis, while totally awesome, should start acting more professionally because of the sheer magnitude of the tournament. Not so much that "we want eSports to be serious" but more that "they're not taking it seriously enough at all." GOM seems to be throwing things together just so that they can finish. It's like waking up one morning and just quickly throwing together some answers for the homework that you didn't do the night before.

Dont get me wrong, i like the "high level play" of Code S, but having foreign players to pray for gives it just a bit extra.

It's really funny how a lot of people are complaining for the stupidest and more ignorant reasons.

This post is REALLY unfair to gom considering they just did the best thing that has happened to the community since launch: use new maps. Yes this decision is questionable, but they had a process for selecting foreign players for Code A and they had a process for this (tho it seems meh). You make it sound like they keep fucking up when that simply isn't true. They have done a lot more good than bad. Hell, they just got Intel to sponsor them.

"Kelly had a good resume and showed us that she was willing to adapt and improve as a caster." "IN SC2, she is best known for her commentary on live games, especially in the SEA/ANZ scene. She has commentated at SMM 2010, Blizzard Invitational SEA/ANZ region to name a few." Pretty sure if they bothered to actually check out those events they would of seen it was a total disaster because of the commentators.

Does GOM really think SC2 fans are that one dimensional??
You'd be surprised how many of them were in the original announcement thread... Comments like "she's nice" or "she's cute" were used in her casting ability's defense.
I really hate men sometimes... I really hope they don't judge her abilities on how cute she is or nice, or hot.. or any other man-ho standards. I seriously wish there was a good SC2 female-english speaking gamer who wouldn't mind casting this. Someone with some umph and less Ummms. If she improves, I am going to be a fan but right now I am just turned off. I was looking forward to this season so much! After the GSTL, I noticed great new players in Code A lineup and now this! Lets give her a chance this season but if it's bad, please do not make these excuses. It is honestly more insulting than just telling her she sucks at casting. No girl wants to hear you only wanna keep her because it's better than listening to 2 boys talking all the time, she is hot, or awww she is so cute and nice. Don't be that kind of nerd, it is not attractive! And yes, I am a girl so take this advice.. it's solid on this matter ![]()

I can also understand why people have trouble with her accent but why all the flame. Give people a chance y'know Have you read the whole thread? At least the majority of us are criticizing her with an actual basis for our arguments (e.g., the posted YouTube video that shows a match she casted). This is a pretty serious issue. It's a massive part of the premiere SC2 tournament in the world. We have quite a bit invested in it, be it our time, our money or both.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to make a thread for a poll. :/

I didn't watch BW games really, but, as said on one of the recent State of the Game podcasts, there were some teams in BW who had players that got nowhere in the main tournament and then would dominate the team leagues (or, at least, do way, way better). I agree with you that some of them did spectacularly, but we can't make such a bold judgment yet (I'm excited for the new blood, though!). I dont think i expressed myself very well, im not saying code A will be better than S, but not take this month code A matches lightly. Comparison with S in GSTL was used to support that point. I agree team leagues are different in that a player may choose their oppenent thus resulting in some player being terrible at pvz and pvt but is a beast at pvp.
