3rd year of uni in Mech. Eng and I hate it (I despise pure maths too). I still like the idea of becoming an engineer, and I guess that's the reason I've stuck with the program for all this time, but the road to get there is so unfulfilling, and unmotivating~ Uni is supposed to represent the best years of your life (lol) but I personally just feel like I'm in a rut. I've failed numerous classes, my GPA has gone to shit (below 2.5 last I checked, and I barely even do check just to show how I don't care), just waking up to go to class feels like a chore (I skipped > 50% of my classes last semester, terrible)... Yet I'm still a very cheerful individual~! Just outside of the uni's premises... My parents are currently paying for my tuition, and my apartment and don't want me to get a job so I can focus on my studies... and still do believe I'm a model kid; and as I've committed too much time to this branch, I feel like it is too late to give up, yet I would do anything to take a sabbatical leave and think hard about what it is that I truly want to do. My cheerful attitude has led the people around me to believe that everything is always fine, and that is a lie I've maintained for quite some time out of habit, or just because I'd much rather latch onto the happier and more colorful moments of my life. There is so much shit I wish I could tell my parents but I am too afraid of the repercussions... They arrived in this country with practically nothing and managed to reach upper mid-class level in about 15 years and while doing so have saved money on the side for my future and that of my siblings, and they are so selfless in everything they do that they tend to forget themselves in the ordeal and tend to live life through others (i.e. me, and my success). They have no hobbies of their own; all they ever do is work; all we ever talk about is school and the numerous people that were unsuccessful because of mistakes they've made early in their lives (not realizing that I'm probably set up for the same route). I thus feel all this pressure ontop of my shoulders; at this point all I want to do is become financially stable so that my parents won't literally have to pay for my mistakes anymore, though getting an internship/job with my current grades sounds like a dead end, even if I still have a year and a half left before graduating (assuming I pass everything...)~

There is so much I wish I could say out loud... D: I have never been very vocal about my emotions...

confession #2: I read the title of this thread and disregarded the one-liner requirement, hah :D

ahah welcome to high school, i usually am on the computer with a facebook tab somewhere and it's probably not unusual for this to be like 4 hours a day or something, so don't feel bad!

My friends are the only people I ever want to seriously hurt. I guess it's because you know them, but if I could fight anyone 9/10 of them would be my friends.

Also, when I found out my friend tried to commit suicide, I didn't want to hug him, or help him, or tell him it would be alright; I wanted to find him and kick the living shit out of him.
