Here's a ZvT. Terran glitches his workers. They can one-shot lings.
Terran does unusual stuff at his base.
SCVs move out.
They attack while keeping stacked.
This is about half a second after the previous image.
When he stacks workers, they deal a lot of damage. How do I fight this?
;;

By not playing against hackers. This happened to me a few times and I was terribly confused, but then it turns out to be a hack, and when you lose against a hack, you don't lose at all.
|
Using a glitch to stack units while attacking is considered an illegal bug and is banned from most leagues including iccup and kespa
I feel because of this that discussing counters is kind of irrelivant

its actually not that hard to fight it He can't control the scvs, so all u gotta do is run your lings around cause they're on Comp AI, which auto targets everything but miners. He might restack them and attack ur hatch, but that's all he can do

So that's how it works? Thanks for the info imBLIND. I'll try drones next time.
And to petzergling, this was an iccup game. Antihack was on... T-T

It's illegal on iCCup, so you should get the win for it. To do the trick, you clump your workers up tightly using the minerals, hold shift and right click on an empty gas geyser a couple times quickly, then while still holding shift give an attack move command towards the enemy.

its illegal on iccup? Ive never heard of that.. proof?
Only way I can see it being illegal is if theres a hack to keep them stacked the whole time.. otherwise, why not ban any muta stackers?
|
- This glich is ilegal, works sending a bunch of workers to mine 1 patch in his minerals so they get stacked, then before they spread the abuser sends all them to mine one patch (or a geyser) in your main/nat. - Next time you catch him doing that: avoid the workers with your lings, chase marines as the scvs need to be on gather mode to stack. So dont face workers with lings wait for the sunkens, and use stacked drones youself, the attacker cant use scvs effectively on sunkens as they spread once the he switches to attack move.

-_-'' read the rules skyse http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/sc_ladder_rules.html
Bugs/tricks in game:
Allowed to use: — Plague on interceptor — Units pressed through — drops to defuse mines — Mineral walk — Manner Pylon — Lurker hold position
Not allowed to use: — Flying drones and templars — Terran sliding buildings — A bug which allows your units to remain stacked while moving/attacking — Allied mines — Intentional dropping lurker and SCV — defined by referee
— Observer Over turret
— «Gas walk» to get through blocked entrances or ramps (Incredibly common bug, using a shift click on has near opponent’s blocked entrance to slide through any possible unit or building wall.)

Its not really a bug. Its an easter egg. I mean when this first came out, July put his muts witha larvae.... i mean who the hell would want to do that? it was considered weird. but its not a bug. besides the direct counter to that would be irradiate

"— Intentional dropping lurker and SCV — defined by referee"
What does this mean?

Thats different, its because of units not keeping their formation when separated after a certain distance, and air units can stack on top of each other. This one is a bug because you dont select anything other than the stacked scvs.
Not an easter egg either

I'd consider it more as a bug. When you put larvae or overlord or whatever with mutas, the mutas behave like you'd expect to according to the magical box principle. The principles holds for all units and there are no occasions where it doesn't behave as you'd expect. Stacking workers using gas though is not something that you'd expect and I highly doubt it's intentional on blizzard's part
The bug is related to the behaviour where a computer's workers will remain stacked while attacking if provoked by your own worker attacking them. I don't think human players were supposed to be able to do the same thing with their own workers.

Best thing to do is to just report it. If you really want to know how to defend it, you have to exploit its limitations.
1. It takes his workers time to get to you, so you should have more than he does. If the distance is large enough and you have 50% more workers than he does, you can win in a straight fight. 2. The worker stack specializes against immobile targets, so don't use build defensive structures. 3. The absolute worst thing you can do is stack on minerals. He'll destroy every worker within seconds. Again, DO NOT STACK ON MINERALS. 4. The stack targets one unit at any given time. As soon as you realize what he's after, send that unit across the map. 5. The most powerful worker stacks use vision to queue up attack commands on your workers, so deny his scout any vision, or at least harass it. 6. He can queue up to eight attack-unit or attack move commands. He can also cancel the current attack command and move on to the next unit in the queue without losing the stack. Keep your units on the move until he runs out of commands, then attack when they spread out. 7. He's dependent on the gas for stacking. If he moves towards the gas, attack. Once he reaches it, run. Deny him access to an easy gas. 8. Time is against him. Just keep running, mining, picking off stray SCVs, and teching. He has at most two guys mining at home, and will lose if you stay alive. 9. Workers will always suck against attack units. As soon as you have one zealot or six glings, it's over for him. Run any targeted unit while the rest of your workers attack him. 10. If he gets tired of targeting your running workers and goes for your buildings, immediately stack yourself and attack the SCVs! They are extremely vulnerable when attacking buildings, and must get all the way to a gas to restack.
|
Oh and i believe he has to attack by queing commands, so if he tries to kill your lings, you can just run them around and he cant possibly do anything else before the ling dies, unless he unstacks. Thats why lings may be the best response.
|
Just report it because he used an illegal glitch.
Don't even fight against it, it's a waste of time to play against someone like that.
|
I didn't know u could stack glitch while attacking.
|
I thought observer over a turret wasn't a problem because you just click on the turret and hit stop or something and it will target the observer again?
|
What does plague on interceptors do? Make the carrier get plagued too?
