Rip Arcane torrent. Nerfed to no longer silence. It now removes 1 beneficial buff off enemy and generates resources.

I don't mind it as much, but still pretty big change to it.

MW got changed too. Talents moved around, mist wrap no longer allows moving while soothing. Will have to fully check it out in new dungeons after running horde ones.

I'm amazed it took this long for them to change Arcane Torrent. It is much to influential in encounters.

While leveling to 100 I got the impression that the WoD dungeons are tuned extremely easy, or is that just me?

Best example was an Iron docks run where the tank dc'ed and we ran through it with just DDs. I did not even have to heal the DDs much since everything died so fast and mostly did dmg.

In comparison I had to spam heal the tank and use CDs on him to barely keep him alive in some cata and mop dungeons.

The prot pala mitigation selfheal (that can also be used for party members) is now on gcd on bfa. This kills the prot pala. What are they thinking. Class gets no talent changes at all.

i think the hardest dungeon by far when it was relevant was grimrail depot?
those guys with the guns on the train, jesus. 2 of them a pack and they could kill a tank like like 3 seconds with that rapid fire shit. rest arent that hard now id say since people know what they're doing but

Hand of the protector. And yeah its a pretty big nerf.

Few other things that are on gcd for other tanks are Warrior charge/intercept, DK single grip. Thankfully BrM brews aren't or that class would become unplayable almost instantly.

But BrM got buffed with isb stagger scaling with agi% and talent moves to allow even more defensive with Mystic Vit on top of Dampen/Diffuse. They will be strong if this sticks around. In dungeons I was never in danger of dying even pulling 2-3 packs consistently. The only time I got close to dying was in Temple of Sethraliss where you can get stunned via stealth mobs. I got stunned back to back for 10+ seconds of no dodge and isb fell off and I still made it out at around ~40% life with 8 mobs beating on me.

Edit: And now were in beta officially.

Aggramar now begins Stage 3 at 35% health in Mythic difficulty
All Embers of Taeshalach now spawn with 0 Energy in Mythic difficulty.
The damage of Empowered Flame Rend has been reduced by 25%.
Argus, The Unmaker
Argus’s health has been reduced by 5% in Mythic difficulty.

Hello!

I wouldn't call anything "locked" during testing and active development. Our development processes are as iterative as they've ever been, and we're always looking for places where we need to make further changes to meet design goals.

Having said that, we're close to finished with the changes to the rotations and the look and feel for most specs. We’ve still got a few changes coming soon in the Beta to Unholy Death Knights, Frost Death Knights, and Protection Warriors.

We used the Alpha timeframe to make some surgical changes to several other specs, and we're somewhat finished with that stage of development for this expansion.

In the days and weeks to come in the Beta, we're going to keep a focus on how every spec plays with regard to the new itemization systems in Battle for Azeroth. While it's certainly possible that feedback on how Azerite affects a certain spec could lead us to do further development on that spec's rotation, we don't expect to need any big changes to talents that would justify the words "severe" or "overhaul".

Beyond itemization concerns, there may be spots where we’ll do focused problem-solving around rotational issues (examples: “it turns out that simulations say never to use X, but X seems like it should be part of my core rotation” or “my spec is too feast-or-famine, and if I have bad luck with Y procs, I feel useless.”).

As always, thank you very much for testing the Beta and making your experiences testing inform your feedback. Focused feedback is super-helpful.


I think they need some major iteration on at least a handful of specs to deal with losing all of the artifact and legendary effects that can't be covered by Azerite gear. Again with one of my favourite examples - the quadrupled area on Sunfire for balance druids that makes it an AOE DOT but only applies when you have the artifact passive. I think that ability and a handful of others like it should be baseline from level 1 through BFA because they improve the feel of the specs in a major way. Balance druid and Fury warrior feel like copy/pasted legion design with half of the stuff removed which makes them much more awkward and slow.

I think that the azerite stuff should really be the icing on the cake and the cherry on top rather than the butter and sugar - having a good part of the functionality intact for characters that are not at BFA level cap with a ton of farm time under their belts is important.

Also they removed the cages from the maw of souls boat in mythic (you just appear in the middle of the room) to prevent the bugs where you'd get stuck or fall through the floor, good change finally ;D

The aggramar nerfs seem super hard. We were already progressed quite far, should be a piece of cake now.
I mean nerfing him is not unreasonable as he is way harder than everything before and the raid is pretty old now, but for example flame rend nerf seems unnecessary as noone had an issue with the normal phase anyway.

On the other hand do the Argus nerfs even mean anything? I dont know much about the encounter.

I donno, the Aggramar nerfs don't seem like much to me.
You still need to manage the adds. you still only have a limited time to deal with all of them, just more freedom in the order in which you soak them.

Well we killed him today. But true, it was still far from easy. No way we would have killed him without nerfs. :D
With the nerfs we could go from 5 to 4 healers.

Killed him on last try, with 98% execution ranking no less, after we had a 0% (10 million hp) wipe earlier. Really fun boss.

yes the Argus nerf will help alot. Gives you plenty of margin for error because there is a bit of a DPS check at the end. 5% is actually quite a bit.

Aggramar nerfs are huge, means you don't have to pull any adds in in p3, you can just grab em together and keep them rooted/stunned/whatever.
Beforehand you actually had to pull at least 8 in or there'd be a mass explosion wipe before the end.

And even after several kills my guild was still losing ppl to empowered flame rend sometimes, so that damage reduction is great too.

This is a surprising move

I had a lot of fun with Strand in WOTLK and i'd still rate it above some of the other battlegrounds. Removing content at all isn't common for Blizzard.

Well more MDI drama. Method lost a map by under 20s because one of their players got dc'ed for like 4-5 minutes. Seriously underwhelming they didn't do anything about it.

I dont think it should be something like that, but it is pretty meh to see that a team that was ahead by a decent amount (a good 40-50s) loses specifically due to them not have their player around for ~20-25% of a dungeon.

If its intentional thats one thing, but if a team is intentionally doing it then I wouldn't want them competing anyway.

I am sure they can find some middle ground to not have teams lose a chance specifically because of this.
