Pretty fucked system but you can actually power through it now by playing a ton and overcome bad luck which was just not possible before

I like Botanist, the Gul'dan fight is really cool too. Mechanics play an unusually huge role in the fight with the difference between a kinda good player and an excellent player being clearly visible even on heroic across the whole fight

I enjoyed mythic krosus for exactly what it is, a tight gear check at the moment. Only mechanically challenging part is the 1st and 2nd add soak, if you get those down, rest is much easier. The first time we got through the fight with almost no one dead (2 CRs used) we killed it, although we did kill it right as it was casting the final bridge smash :d


Currently progressing spellblade, which seems really cool fight actually, but it's such hell for my mana as a healer (4 healing it).

Its possible to 4 heal it Its really annoying to play ranged since we are quite melee heavy. We didn have enough DPS in the guild to try Krosus so we didnt go there till some more people came in this week. Didnt take long. Soaks are not that hard if people realise that not having to dps the boss briefly is OK. But yeah you either need high i levels or good leggos on your DPS. IF you have the dps to kill Krosus 4 healing Spellblade isnt worth it imo. It wasnt really possible before nerf.

Going to be a weird chocie for some people here but Aluriel is the fight I like the most.
There's a lot to be said about abilities bloat on current boss design. How Blizzard is having issue making bosses hard without giving them dozens of abilities to look out for at the same time ( Helya Mythic is the biggest offender here )

But Aluriel is such an elegant fight. She has 3 schools of magic, with one spell in each school only. Mark of frost, blazing charge, arcane orbs. She then can duplicate, detonate and animate those spells.
No bloat, very simple concept, fits fully with her character concept ( She's a spellblade afterall ) and yet not an easy fight at all in Mythic, despite rarely having to deal with 2 abilities at once.

There is an overlap between frost and fire phase that most people struggle with. Thats the only somewhat complicated part of the fight. There is nothing you cannot plan for though.

They're talking about making legendary droprates spec-specific instead of character-specific in 7.2 with the effect of speeding up the first 2 legendaries for each new spec rather than just for each new character.

not as critically important as it was back when each legendary reduced the droprate by a lot (now it's just very fast #1, fast-ish #2 and then all the same from 3+) but it'll help for multi-speccing. If you have like Prydaz+Sephuz though it won't actually benefit you at all, sounds nicer for new characters - at least in that case you already have those to equip.

That's annoying. I have good Windwalker legendaries, but no BrM ones, and a bad MW one ( chest )
But I have Sephuz and Cindaria.. and the belt is in the BrM legendary pool.

Which mean technically I have 2 legendary for each specs already..

I didn't catch this quote. Doesn't sound like it applies to the daily events, though, which took me over 3 months worth of logging in to get and could take much longer for a very unlucky person

pretty excited that I got a good drop in a reasonable period of time (2 arcway runs, a 12 +3 and a 13 +2)

I guess it got buffed, it has a 20% uptime.

I agree. Aluriel is probably one of my favorite fights in Nighthold, because it is one of the better designed bosses.They kept to the core concept and didn't add any extraneous stuff to it, and evolved it with an extra ability per school (normal adds just spawn and melee, heroic adds spawn and do their thing (frost pushback, pulsing fire aoe, and raid-wiping arcane aoe that serves as a dps check of sorts), and I haven't gotten there on Mythic yet)


Some of them are kinda fun just for lols. I think Elisande is pretty neat, and similiarly Chronomatic Anomaly (Mythic) for the movement and the fast/slow shifting.

The rest I'm kind of eh about. Gul'dan is like imperator and is just soooo long that I start to lose interest.

He is simply 3 phases and his 3rd secret phase looks rather underwhelming compared to M Imperator (based on videos anyway).

Even after watching all of Method's videos with commentary, the secret phase is mostly a tank and spank that just has a lot of physical damage to the MT. In both the Tank/Melee dps video, they literally said that the MT just stands there and doesn't even have to move outside of getting into the invuln sphere. Melee do almost nothing outside of killing the main add/mini adds until 50% then you just kill mini add/boss because you cc the remaning adds. It just seemed very lackluster compared to Cho'gall where it was a short final phase, but very action packed. This is just a long phase and the second half of it looks so boring.

I just have a rather lukewarm feeling about Nighthold thus far, but my mythic progression isn't that far yet. We should get Trilliax down Sunday if people aren't retarded and click on cleansers / eat cake / lasers!!1!! Our melee tunnel really hardcore sometimes, so cleansers right next to them go off and it's a bit frustrating. Then we should be able to see how our DPS is shaping up for Krosus / spellblade. I guess I felt the same about HFC, but mythic Mannoroth and Archimonde were fun, despite being infuriating fights.

I really enjoyed BRF a lot, so that seems to be how I'm judging raid content, but BRF is more or less how I got back into the game, so it has a similar rose tinted glass effect that much of BC has, so I have to keep it in mind.

Hmm holy paladin in legion seems to me like it lost some of its previous heal burst, which was making it very fun to play; whereas resto shaman has somehow more output. Just a feeling, no numbers, but pala seems somewhat lackluster.
Also I simply don't understand why dr00ds lost nature's swiftness. It was critical for oshit situations

definitely not the case. Healers are actually very well balanced, except for monks who are a bit below the other classes.

Every healer has a good niche, beside Monks who are jack of all trade master of none.
Hpal are crazy when they go all in on some stuff. Our HPal almost did 1 Million HPS in our last Mythic Krosus kill.

AFAIK it's always been 1rppm (10s per 60s, 16.67% uptime) but it can vary a lot because of the low proc rate and inherant randomness.

4 procs in 4 min = 16.67% uptime but if you gain or lose 1 proc then it's 12.5% or 20.83% - shorter fights will have larger swings in uptime.


The item sets also do not scale with ilvl so many of them are amazing at i840 but mediocre at i900

but mythic Mannoroth and Archimonde were fun, despite being infuriating fights.


I had a lot of fun with Archi but not Mannoroth. The first phase got very tedious and he took twice as long as any other boss in the raid (combat hours/minutes before kill)

Holy pala still has nice CDs to ramp up healing in critical situations. Maybe their biggest strength. Compare that to Monk which is just the same drizzle all the time. Also pala actually has interesting and relevant talent choices.

Theres a bunch of fonts that I changed in most the addons that gave me an option for font. The font was "kgsmalltowngirl" or something. You see a pull down menu for fonts in various screens that you need to change. I just kept chat / tooltips more or less normal arial font so it's readable at a quick glance. My UI scaling works well on a 30" 2560x1400, but when playing on 1080p screens, notably small 1080p screens (15" or less), it's obviously harder.

You just need to go from screen to screen and edit fonts from general fonts to unit frame fronts, and fonts in each addon, etc.


That's my raid UI more or less. People enjoy my raid frames more than anything because its mesmerizing to watch the health bars bounce around.
