However recently, demand for ellipses have grown dramatically, for unknown reasons. Due to the low profit margin in harvesting ellipses compared to more common and easily grown letters "a" to "z", harvesters have taken to clear cutting the ellipse forests, without replanting. Now we are reaping what they have failed to sow - a lack of a critical resource for our written language. | ||

seriously, if he earned some respect, he wont be trolled anymore, but he just post about the same shit over, and over, and over again. All carlodajins posts are about THE SAME SUBJECT, cmon i would even consider it non-constructive posts because they're all about the same. If you search for all of his post, you'll find that 75% are about WCG and 24% about So1 ( he just started posting about it recently, since he made that post in the brood war forum ). 1% is the post he made about why not going 2 bases on strategy forum, which i would consider legit, since it actually made some disscusion. About his posting ways, the moking is very trivial i think, people who troll him (including myself) do that not because of his posting, but his themes. How come lil_dragon (or the chinese guy who made the broken english thread of "how merines beat lurker") didnt get flamed for his typing? because he: a) didnt post about the same thing ALL HIS POSTS b) posted very few but he did get some complaints from people, like he was trying to joke around but he failed the second time, and got shuted up. Why is carlodajin any diferent? i disagree that he is treated differently. There is a reason why people troll him and he must get around it or change the way he posts. edit: i would post a poll, but im afraid i dont know how  | ||

He's becoming more modernized. He used to mostly post about WCG 2000/2001/2002, but he's made a leap forward and now he talks about So1 Starleague. Soon he might be up to date and talking about modern tournaments like Shinhan 3 / GOM MSL. [There are some exceptions. He talks about WCG 2006 and IEST 2006.] With this trend, he may become a good poster in short order. | ||

People don't mock him for his typing style, they mock him because 99.9% of his posts are IDENTICAL and mostly uninformed and horribly out of date. | ||

Just wondering, how many times has our enthusiastic friend been permabanned? I thought after the first couple it was an IP ban or something. (1 2 3 4 - are those really all him?). | ||

The mods have decided that his ignorant posting is not ban worthy, so he isn't banned. Now, accepting that he'll be around, the constant bandwagon jumpping insults are annoying and unfunny. That's what this thread is about. The worst thing is he never instigates the flaming and nimrods continue to quote him with elipse jokes for pages after the last post he's made in a thread. It's really really annoying. Mani is being kind warning you that that type of lameassery is unacceptable when you should all have seen this coming anyway. | ||

Protect the community from spammers, not the spammers from the community. I'm surprised the admins are defending near unreadable garbage posts as the way of TL.net. Why is forum etiquette in the "10 commandments" applied to ALLCAPS type posts but not applied to mass ellipsis posts? They are equivalent bad posting styles. If I put in my sig "my posts aren't really yelling" and left capslock on for time at TL.net will I get the same protection Carlodajin is getting now when I'm copied and flamed?  I would hope the admins would come to me and make me post in the correct, readable, fashion instead of allowing me to continue bad forum etiquette. Moderation at TL.net shouldn't be capricious and arbitrary. All the members ought to follow the rules including the ones on forum etiquette. Even Carlodajin.Carlodajin, please stop abusing the ... It makes those who wish to read posts take a lot of time finding letters hidden in a forest of characters. To the flamers I would say stop. There were a lot of straight up insults in the thread Manifesto linked and those have nothing to do with joking about a posting style. If he were anyone but the community punching bag there would have been some banhammers already. Parody is one thing, flaming is another. | ||

Good question, my dear Aphelion! Carlodajin tries to contribute. The problem is, he doesn't do it well. So there is potential. My post you linked to was directed more at the type of people who had no desire whatsoever to contribute something meaningful to TL.net. Does that mean Carlodajin ever will? Maybe not. But the point is he's trying. And if he never gets there... we'll see. | ||
