Good evening, Teamliquid.

I am going to delve into a sordid tale of pure strangeness. This is going to be 90% serious. The first I'd ever heard of our friend Yokokano was in the newly-minted Post Your Raps Thread where he gave me a sort-of shout-out sort-of-diss kind of thing that I didn't think much of.

The summary is that consciousness causes changes in quantum fields, so that matter goes from a zero-energy state into something theoretically perceptible. Therefore, if humans could use psychic powers to influence quantum fields that would connect minds around the world with a greater pacifist mind. Great idea! Except it's complete nonsense! Quantum Consciousness is basically a cheap pseudo-scientific masquerade to justify Intelligent Design. But let's say Quantum Consciousness was a thing. It'd still be a huge leap to be able to actually use our minds to influence particles. Even if this was remotely possible, it is human nature to abuse power to control others. Anything like that would almost certainly be used by some oligarchical power structure to control the world's population.

So what does that have to do with anything? Not much, really. I mean, it's at least an interesting abstract idea, albeit the poor, rambling explanation behind it. It's actually the following post that raised my eyebrow:

This drunken butchering of the English language to express some kind of... something. Of course, there are some bread-crumb clues embedded in this messy tangle of alliteration. Particularly the use of the term "UMS" instead of "Custom games". UMS is shorthand for Use Map Settings, where a user-made map will begin executing a programmed scenario. UMS can be anything, practically. You could make a whole new game (Like DotX) or do something as simple as having a map that allows spectators to observe.

Actually, I agree with the main point of the blog, which is that people playing the ladder religiously are wayyyy too obsessed with playing competitive 1v1 mode, and are missing out on just having fun goofing around playing custom maps, team games and so on. One of the maps he mentioned is Phantom, which is actually my favorite UMS map from SC:BW. I actually learned what all the units and stuff did by playing Phantom. It's almost like sandbox mode where you can mess around and experiment with stuff, and you learn weird stuff like "mass corsair beats mass wraith"

After a few more blogs, like this one, http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/484225-bullying-blackholes-and-birthgiving, I began to notice a few emerging themes in Yokokano blogs:

• A lot of really rambling tangents and disconnected thoughts and obscure references just for the hell of it
  
• Faux mathematical theories, using variables and visuals to start making a point that is never explained or finished. Perhaps a point would be made if any of the math theory was expounded on, and used to reinforce a central theme, but sadly, this never takes place
  
• A weird merging of contradicting philosophies
  
• Quantum fucking consciousness
  
• An obsession with becoming a god (or what he calls an Aeon)
  
• Which drugs are good and which ones are bad
  
• How everything is abstract and that using any absolutism is a mistake
  
• More obscure references to controversial authors who wrote on stupid shit that was debunked and rejected by the scientific community
  
• An proclivity towards negative stereotypes about women, especially Freudian theory that is rejected by modern psychology, but also religious attitude towards the inferiority of women to men.
  

I think the most poignantly noticeable aspect to his blogs is an over-usage of bizarre and sometimes made-up words, and combining it with all of the above, but in a manner that is so horribly disjointed that it barely makes any sense, although, he has eluded to purposefully writing it to be cryptic, but I think that's mainly an excuse for some bad writing in general.

Epishade wrote another parody of my parody shortly thereafter, and what followed was one of the most puzzling and protracted responses I've ever seen:

I ignored it for awhile, but there was a weird bit of sexism mixed with some odd astrological background that I eventually responded to:

From here, I noticed another unique aspect of Yokokano's style of posting:

• If you ask a question, he will response with paragraphs of unrelated nonsense

So where the hell did the above post come from? Well, you thought it was just complete randomness, didn't you? It's not that simple. After the "ROFL" blog, he contacted me on Twitter to do some silly Clan X17 style banter. If you are unfamiliar with Clan X17, it was the most socially backwards channels in StarCraft, where people would challenge each other in the most obnoxious and sometimes hilarious ways imaginable. Usually, ALL CAPS were involved, and most of the time, you weren't sure if people were serious, or actually talking shit to each other. I think somewhere, in the ruckus, that line got blurred. Anyhow, this form of trash-talk/banter became a staple of US East-speak, so when he tweeted some X17ish stuff at me, I just tweeted some back.

In Clan X17, a conversation consisting of "Dodge??? Fear??? rofl look at this virgin scrub running in fear, 9999-0 ez" all in one line was not even close to unusual.

Yokokano occasionally would tweet something random at me, but then, called me a hipster:



So I said if he wanted to play SC:BW, that I'd be happy to play him and show him that I actually knew how to play. He declined to take me up on that offer. I said not to call me out and then just be like "I don't want to play." and of course, *I* was the one who was out of line, and would receive random insults like this:








And sometimes would reply to random posts where I post pictures of bears with this:



For some reason, I didn't put two and two together until this. This took place not long after he was talking shit and then refusing to play a second time. So I was like "Yeah, dodge moar". But I LEFT IT ALONE.



An occasional challenge would be leveled, which I would accept.




Here was the most recent one. This was shortly before he wrote the "They're the same game" blog, which just looked to me like an attempt to get me to play LotV instead of SC:BW by 'convincing' me that it's all the same shit, which is where I'm pretty sure where this is headed. Mind you, I did not tweet at him. He would just send this shit to me out of the blue, and would respond to non-SC posts with weird shit saying how I'm scared or an angry person.

So, how do I feel about this? Well, not particularly scared or angry, to be perfectly honest. I'm more just like "Okay, where did this come from?" because first off, I had nothing to do with his ban. Second, I haven't called him any names in retaliation for him calling me stuff. Third, I haven't publicly called him out and said "Hey, you think you're too cool for school, but I have a news flash for you, Walter Cronkite: You aren't."

I know it's just an invitation to play a video game, but then again, it feels like there's a lot of emotion behind this and I'm kinda just considering going "Nah, you win, I forfeit", but on the other hand, I kinda just want to play, because I like playing. But whatever. If he's still down for it, I'll be down for it, and I expect a 5,000-word poem apologizing to me and saying how awesome I am if I win.
