Week 5 - Complexity Hendralisk
Week 4 - Deimos Siphonn
Week 3 - IvD Phog
Week 2 - Clarity reb0rn
Week 1 - Dust sWs

Breaking Out is a show about up & coming, North American, Starcraft 2 players. The show spends a week highlighting a new player each week. After eight weeks, the season culminates in the Breakout Invitational, where players compete for a $1000+ prize pool. In the end, we hope to get a glimpse at who could be the next Breakout player in the North American scene.

The first season of Breaking Out gave a lot of early glimpses at some great North American Talent. Players like SaroVati, JonSnow, Sonic and Hellokitty have been showing some great skill in various tournaments and qualifiers since. These players from Season 1 were handpicked as talented players in North America who had the potential to do great things. However, we're going to be changing things up a bit as we jump into Season 2...

The Players
1) [CORE] NayA(P) through the 1st Ladder Spot
2) [Clarity] rebOrn(Z) through the 2nd Ladder Spot
3) [Dust] sWs(P) through the 3rd Ladder Spot
4) [Deimos] Siphonn(P) through the 4th Ladder Spot
5) [IvD] Phog(Z) - through the Breaking Out Qualifier #1
6) [Complexity] hendralisk(Z) - through the Breaking Out Qualifier #2
7) [CORE] EJK - through the invite slot number #1
8) [Gravity]Kreos - through the invite slot number #2

Right now the North American scene is playing catch up. For a variety of reasons, North American players, tournaments, and just general infrastructure in Starcraft 2 is a bit further behind from Europe and Korea. Breaking Out is a step toward building that.

The show highlights a new up & coming player each week that's worth knowing about. The idea is to give players who are working hard to break into the NA scene some more exposure and to give viewers a glimpse at the next potential breakout players. In the current Starcraft 2 scene, WCS reigns supreme and with a multitude of non-North or South American players playing in WCS America, it can feel neigh impossible to do well unless you're capable of beating fairly skilled Koreans.

This show is a stepping stone and incentive system for players striving to go pro to continue working hard. It can be frustrating constantly waiting for your big break as an aspiring pro, even when you feel like you're actually capable of competing with some of the other great North American players. Breaking Out rewards those talented players by giving them some exposure and an opportunity at a $1000+ prize pool at the end with the Breakout Initational.

The Schedule

Last season of Breaking Out ran for 6 days a week. This season, we're trying a different approach. The show will run every Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 6:00pm PST, 9:00pm EST Here's what the schedule will look like:

Thursday - 30-60 minute interview with the player!
Friday - We'll cast a game from every matchup.
Saturday - We'll cast an AWESOME game, have fun & recap the week.

You can catch the show live over at:

Or you can find all the vods uploaded on the same day at:

The show eventually leads up into an eight man tournament that has a $1000 base prize pool that has payout even to last place. However, we do take donations for that prize pool to increase. Last season through donations we were able to raise the prize pool an additional $1153.32 through donations. If you'd like to contribute to the prizepool for the next Breakout Invitational, feel free to use the link below to do so!

Donate To Increase the Prizepool
Currently $1,705.11 as of 4:00am EST, March 14th

Big thank you's go out to everyone that has made this possible. From those who helped with the art assets for this season and the last (Noobity, Sybert, MinnyMausGG) to those who have provided feedback and adminstration help(Wyrd, NanMan, MasterDalk), to the all the viewers of the first Season, I extend my thanks for helping to make this all possible. I also want to send a big thank you to all the players working hard in North America! Last but not least, thank you to DeadlyGaming for lending their support in the creation of many of the graphical assets.

Hopefully PiLi get's a chance to prove everyone wrong with his disputes. Kid has all the talent in the world and is far from reaching his skill cap.

Thanks for tuning in all! I wanted to announce the two invites as they have finally been selected!

Welcoming onto the show for the 7th and 8th slots, we have CORE Gaming's EJK(T) and Gravity's Kreos!(Z)!

The committee for Breaking out voted on these players to receive the invites, though I have to say that it was very close between a lot of players. It's always hard to pick a player for this sort of thing but we feel that these two players deserve the chance to showcase their potential as players trying to Break Out of the North American scene!

We'll be contacting the invitees soon but with that being said, the full roster of players has been decided! We hope everyone decides to tune in for the show and learn a bit more about these players!

And we're live with the final day of Breaking Out week 2! Come check out Clarity RebOrn's awesome game of the week. Sit down and have some fun with a huge roster of guests including Temp0, Rifkin, BoisterousSC2, Ryan Schutter, KurenTV and more as we play Ryan's custom arcade game, Pure CTF! Then come learn a little as we wind down and get RebOrn's thoughts on the games he submitted.

Hope to see you all there!
