+1 LP per win in bronze 1

Ok so I have been climbing the ladder from lowly bronze 4 to top of bronze 1, I have had my share of trolls, dc's, rage quits, playing against smurfs, w/e. That doesn't bother me so much. What really bothers me is that I go on these large winning streaks, and the final climb to promotion series has been agonizingly slow. I gain 1-3 points per win and 5+ points per loss. I don't have a negative w/l ratio, I have been climbing rather quickly but I CAN'T GET TO MY PROMOTION SERIES. Literally I have gained 1 elo the past 2 games, it's all but impossible to go 5w per loss which seems to be my fate now. I know that they limit lp gain near promotion series but I don't understand why it is down to 1 per win when I win more of my games.

3. The reason you only get 1 LP per game, is because your MMR is equal your current division (bronze 1). If you were ever to get promoted into Silver V, you will see change to something like +25-30 LP pr game (losing roughly half). It's called clamping, it's perfectly normal, and there's no reason for you to create a new thread about this.

The system puts you through when you're meant to go through, simple as that. I went from B4 to Silver in about a week and got +20-30 per win in Bronze 1.

Its about your hidden MMR, confusing but thats riot for you

Since I don't think this thread needs any more hate, I just want to say that this happens to everyone. It's normal, and it sucks but there you go. If you really want to get around it, just duo with someone far higher than you and learn to support at a decent level. It totally bypasses clamping (at least in my personal experience)

ok well, it just seems odd that I win way more games than I lose, I have gone through multiple promotions since I started and i don't see why my mmr would be b1 area when it is calculated on the number of games win vs games lost while taking into acct the ppl you play against. Also, I just got another game with a gain of 1 lp, I am now 99 lp.

I am sorry that this thread is innappropriate, I was not sure how much the general tl rules applied to this section. I suck compared to Diamond 1 people, we will see about the rest; and I will improve. Thank you for your replies.

Bro, you aren't sucking because you are bronze 1 and i'm Diamond. You suck, because despite having 970 posts on Teamliquid, you haven't understood when and why you create a thread. A question like yours, gets asked at least 5 times pr. GD (which gets re-created every 3 weeks). It has nothing to do with your rating.

You have MMR, expected MMR, uncertainty and League points(LP).
LP is pretty much worthless, although it correlates to MMR.
At a threshold for a league, the game needs to make sure that you belong in a higher league because it can't demote you afterwards. As a result, unless your MMR and uncertainty exceed the threshold by a significant amount, you will recieve reduced points.

Also, uncertainty. If you streak your way up, you can find that you get fewer and fewer points per win despite constantly winning. At this point, your uncertainty is increasing faster than your MMR, so effectively, your expected MMR range is extending further below the threshold, meaning that the game still isn't certain that you belong. Solution to this is to lose one to drastically decrease your uncertainty, and then continue winning. It sounds counter intuitive, but you can actually increase your lower-bound expected MMR by losing.

How does LP fit in?

You have your expected MMR. This is what absorbs losses/gives you huge amounts of points if you are far from where the game thinks you belong. It can also do the reverse. Uncertainty also increase the rate of LP gain or loss.

The system is rather convoluted and this is my best guess at how it works(should be pretty close)
