A third for a 27 year old career backup who only posted good numbers on a great defensive team and is a ufa at the end of the season..........
Cheap price for a goalie that can't possibly be worse than Dubnyk.
And to be quite honest I think we got full market value for Dubnyk...I believe his worth was that low since GM's not named Lowe or MacTavish usually have a clue and expecting much more in return was unreasonable.
Getting nothing for Dubnyk woulda been better than Hendricks, but since the Oilers' 4th line has been a game of musical chairs played by the shittiest players available at any given time in the NHL all year long, whatever. Sucks to be Anton Lander.
The whole thing is kind of like dumping Smid to get Bryz but slightly less shitty because Scrivens seems pretty good. But that's only if he signs. Otherwise it's a waste of a good draft pick and taking on a shitty contract for nothing. Same old.
Still, it's not like the Oilers have ever intentionally manipulated their goalie situation in an effort to tank before... The Edmonton 6/49s.
edit:
Could be worse. Didn't MacTavish offer a truck full of money to Clarkson this past summer?
Well Scrivens is from Alberta so maybe that factored in signing him and hoping he would stay :S He's a nice guy anyway and I feel sympathy for him as a former leaf going to the kings and now edm lol

Did anyone else find 24/7 to be a lot less interesting this year than usual? Especially since Mason Raymond literally didn't say a single thing the entire time. Come on.

To be honest I found it unintresting the first time around and have not watched a single episode since. I just don't need that kind of access to a team to enjoy the game. I don't need to know the name of any players pet or what color the carpet is in there home lol.

But then you're missing out on Crosby calling Kadri a joke and Steve Ott bragging about his face off percentage...

In retrospect, let us now examine the Bernier-Frattin-Scrivens trade. Some called it a bad move by the leafs. Some said it was a great move. Others were luke warm.
Let's see. Frattin, at 26, playing wing has 2 goals and 4 assists in 33 games and is a -6 on a team that is +27 in GF/GA.
So, Matt Frattin sucks balls.
On to Scrivens. He is such a valuable commodity as a goalie on a defense first team that LA managed to get a 3rd Round draft pick out of him.
Now for Bernier, google it.
Goalies occasionally take a long time to fully mature. This never happens with wingers. Goalies also can have 1 or 2 good years, get worse and never return to the magical form they showed for a short period of time. So Bernier and Scrivens still may have more upside to explore. Moreso, for Bernier because he is younger. Matt Frattin should get ready for a nice long career in the AHL.
Leafs won this trade. Nice move by Nonis.
Also, Eugenie Bouchard is hotter than Australia.... and its fucking hot in Australia.

So some sun media writer took a bunch of tweets Scrivens wife sent out LAST YEAR about how she loved the LA summer and wrote an article saying she was the biggest loser in the trade.
just keep on adding to the reasons hell bolt at the first opportunity. hed probably be ok behind a competent defense (no better than dubnyk imo) but the oil really lacks that. that franchise is a disaster
those first two were stupid but i dont think fine/suspension level. that last one absolutely should have been a couple games. wtf?? i dont understand the logic in suspending more often than not for head contact on hits, which can often be unintentional, where as shit like that is about as on purpose as you can get

Nice Play, Shakespeare.
Scrivens went after the wrong guy. HAHAHAHAHA.
Even though Scrivens is from Spruce Grove, He needs to shut up and play hockey... he really fucked this one up.
"Scrivens’ apology, at the time of this writing, had not yet been issued. But it is expected, as surely as calm follows the storm.
Welcome back to Edmonton, Ben. It’s cold here, yes. But not nearly as cold as Twitter."

Wow, he tweeted at the wrong guy. HE'S IN TROUBLE NOW.
he isn't the first or last guy to get smeared in a twitter hissy fit. his biggest problem is going to be staying in the NHL so he should focus on that.
pretty hilarious that his wife complained about Toronto's weather. i guess she is about to find out what cold really is.
