so i didn't see it mentioned much, but jagr on the devils isn't gonna replace kovy, but it could be interesting. at the very least, ill be happy because I get to see him get at least one more year in of being jagr. Even at this old age, the way that due just dominates posession, esp on the circles on the pp, just so awesome

This is Edmonton circa 2006-2007 - letting a little bit of improbable success dictate the notion that you're better than you actually are. It has taken Edmonton nearly 10 years to crawl out from the contractual mess they created that summer by assuming that they were magically going to be competitive every year.

Yeah shit that is spot on hahaha. Speaking of Tay Tay, did you see his stick skill video on that roller rink where he was screwing around with a golf ball?? I want the Oilers to get good so all of those great offensive players can finally get recognition. so bure is gonna get his number retired by the nucks next year. about goddamn time. dude was one of my favorite non rangers growing up. in nhl video games, i used 96 a lot because of him. why i used the number he wore for a very short amount of time, i dont know... so in honor of that, and to get some videos in here, here is the best bure video new game for the next page or two: post a video that in some way related to the one posted before yours so for example, this could follow the bure vid a solid excuse to post two of my favorite videos. today is a good day

6th in the league in 5x5 pts/60, 2nd in the Western Conference 2nd in the league for LW in 5x5 pts/60, 1st in the Western Conference All while playing for a shitty team that scored less goals than like 20 other teams. Alas, not quite good enough to knock Ovechkin off of the first or second all-star team. And Lindy "Don't Call me Lindy" Ruff doesn't think he's that great. Hall may as well retire.

And to answer the question, it happens by getting 100% of your production from the top 6 and absolutely-sweet-fuck-all from the 3rd and 4th lines. If this were NHL '94 and line-changes were turned off, the Oilers would have been a decent team.

What in the fuck is Nonis doing??? Franson is pretty good but I can't really give a good assessment because I don't watch him nightly like Leafs fans. BUt I do know that based on the organizational need for defensemen, particularly righties, that is silly.

I really do not like retroactively punishing things that are, to get all JJR for a moment, 'against the spirit' of the 'rules', but were actually 100% a-ok. I dislike cap recapture as a means of making teams pay for the bonuses achieved by players. Cap hit should be calculated based on maximum possible salary. But the system was set up like that so teams could spend over. Wounder how long until some savy GM finds a way to up his payroll by 5-6 million a year via this system.

BUt I do know that based on the organizational need for defensemen, particularly righties, that is silly. Franson didn't really produce anything after the first 20 games so I would imagine negotiations would be stalled due to him asking for a raise when he did nothing the latter half of the season. Our defensemen prospect pool is good, just no one's really ready for the nhl yet. Franson has a wicked shot though, which Holzer and Kostka don't have, so I guess that's where the stalling comes from. ~1.5-2 million would be about right for Franson I think. The problem is probably that we can't sign Kadri since Kadri will probably want around 3-4 million after this year, and Fraser still needs a raise too... Oh right, and someone needs to get rid of Liles.

You think the top scoring defenseman on the team should be paid like a 5th-6th defenseman?

His previous contract was $1.2 million for a couple years so he's asking for a huge raise, which he probably does deserve, but we don't have the cap space for him if he's jacking up the price so much unless something happens with Liles. *whoa i read his stats upside down rofl Okay yeah he needs more money but fuck Nonis we don't have the space. http://theleafsnation.com/2013/7/26/fransontrade
