They still have some very serious reporters who are by and large, doing their thing. To in any way justify Trump's attacks (even with your little caveat) is sick. We've had this debate before, but the takeaway is their cadre of activist reporters and journalists have a habit of publishing mostly made up or deliberately misleading accounts meant to persuade the reader. Some of it's #Resist, some of it's the management's antagonism towards Trump, and some of it's just a normal lefty-biased reporter with poor journalistic standards without editorial feedback. The rest, and I know there's "some, I assume, are good reporters," get tarnished and it's sad. Maybe in time and forgetfulness and changes they can heal their credibility problem. Funny, I don't remember anyone other than you and maybe someone like xdaunt having that takeaway, but sure. This forum isn't famous for a spectrum of ideological diversity. It's more the place where you accuse opponents of hating brown people and loving Trump.
A politician being attacked is not the same as attempting to shoot up a pizzaria because you saw a fake news video. I don't expect you to understand that, but it is nevertheless true. Furthermore, you use 1 example of 1 incident to attempt to write off multiple incidents of such incidents being purpotrated (or attempted to) by the "fine nazi folk" that you identify with. And lastly, your final point is utter horse shit and you know it. This thread has quite the spectrum of idealogical diversity, and I would say most people here are not even "leftists" but much more in the center. There are people like GH who are very much to the left and believe in some weird conspiracy theories who constantly get in fights with people further/much further to the right. The only reason you don't see any diversity is that most people here agree trump, his nazi movement, and the current republicans who are being willfully complicit with a foreign government interfering in our countries politics are all terrible and need to go.

Thirdly, and this is the other post I made, it's really about them convincing people that black and white truths like apple/banana are close to what's going to be erased through repetition.
I think the existence of a child sex ring in a pizza parlor is a much more substantial, clear cut truth to subvert than whether a particular fruit is an apple or a banana. The analogy is still dumb, but not because it overstates how drastically far from reality people can be pulled in the current political climate.

Guys, you're talking to the person that ran away when asked the question of whether or not he'd assume somebody he just met was a nazi or nazi sympathizer if they're wearing a swastika tshirt. Words and symbols have no meaning to him.

Oh and Trump didn't make a meaningful effort to fire Mueller and launch a campaign to discredit his team and the FBI. That's all CNN fake news. Trump has the right to do those things. But he didn't actually do those things because it's CNN fake news. And even if he did do those things, there's still this banana video, so why are we paying so much attention to Trump having threatened the jobs of Sessions, Comey, Rosenstein and Mueller? It's not a big deal that there's an ongoing FBI investigation of obstruction by the president, because CNN. Speaking of unseriousness, legitimately making criticism of a video comparable to diminishing the importance of terrorism is kind of the same problem.

Utter hogwash. The fact that the majority of people here disagree with you doesn't make them all far leftists. Plenty of people hold plenty of different opinions, and for different reasons. I regularly find things I disagree on between myself and regular posters such as P6 or GH, even Kwark. The difference is I find them (largely) reasonable. If you feel like the world is out to get you, perhaps try examining the way you interact with people, or the positions you hold.

Didn't this forum use to be pretty much 50-50 left/right before Trump? I think that speaks volumes in and of itself. Trump and the republican party just isn't reasonable any more. There is zero worth in there. It's an "opposition party" whose only values are to be opposed of the other party (and, as it turns out, to be opposed of any reason and intelligence).
Also, as a quote has been going around states: "Everything is left when you're to the right of Mussolini"

The secretive child porn front never existed and was a crazy conspiracy pushed by the people you support, defend, and identify with. Evil republicans that try to kill millions by taking away their health care, deport millions more, destroy the middle class and push those who aren't born rich into poverty, however, do exist. One of them wanted to take matters into his own hands because voters like you were too busy being complicit in the destruction of our country. The other listened to fake news and went off to fight imaginary people.

He was attempting to rescue victims of a secretive child porn front at the point of a rifle. The other one thought Republicans deserved to die. Maybe you should watch that video again. “Attempting to shoot up a pizzeria.” No take back or turn or admitting that’s a blatantly false characterization. No steps back. Just that evil republicans want to kill millions by taking away their health care. You’re a walking parody of the left in America.

This isn't cringe narrative pushing. It has sadly become reality already. Hey, I'm all for you linking CNN to 4chan. Carry on. Come on dangles, it's as if you're not even trying anymore. You didn't dispute what he said at all, that your alt right fake news people you so eagerly defend and associate with have pushed such bullshit that a guy went and tried to shoot up a pizzaria. You just strawman and try to divert away completely. Right, because talking about 4chan pizzeria guy from a CNN cringe video of a banana wasn't a strawman in the first place. Ok kids, this is CNN, showing you pictures of apples and bananas, because this will stop future child porn pizza conspiracies. Does CNN have teenagers at the heads of whatever department creates and posts videos to their social media? Because this really sounds like the adults have left the room. The people you choose to side with and adamantly defend choose to push actual fake news that almost ends in innocent people dying, as well as are the ones attempting to carry out terrorist attacks on innocent Americans. And yet you still attack CNN for trying to educate people about this. Let that sink in for a second. You are here attacking CNN for making a video about the dangers of the people you support peddling dangerous fake news that almost ends in innocents dying. A Bernie Sanders supporter walked to a Republican baseball game and shot Congressmen. Don't tell me about innocent people dying. Secondly, I side with people that think the video's silly and prove CNN's got a seriousness problem on their social media. Thirdly, and this is the other post I made, it's really about them convincing people that black and white truths like apple/banana are close to what's going to be erased through repetition. Let that sink in: they had a guy do a voiceover on fruit and you're calling criticism "attacking CNN for making a video about the dangers of the people you support." I don't really know if there's a video solution for people that dislike criticism that much. It's a really dumb way of conveying a very serious and accurate message. Also, as a quote has been going around states: "Everything is left when you're to the right of Mussolini" The forums was about the same as it is now before trump. After trump the same leftist posters feel trump's actions justify acting like him twords people they disagree with and that they should learn from him on how to be more successful in politics. The republican party has really no good options and no good leaders anymore so they're floundering like anyone would in their position. Being in an unreasonable and illogical position where winning is loseing and loseing is loseing and you can't plan an hour in advance for anything makes hard cheese.
There were less euros in the thread pre trump from what I remember and Kwark decided he wanted to live in a desert in america instead of the UK.
Trumps caused all media and politics related discussion to go though him now so it just seems worse then it used to be beacuse of that. If the world Trump and Trump related arguments were banned from the thread it would look a lot like pre trump I'd hazzard a guess at.

You're the one saying the charge that the terrorist was encouraged by Trump is frivolous, even though the guy used the same anti-CNN language that Trump popularized. You imply that the video is of equal importance as these other issues, and that it is "purely political posturing" to point out that Trump made a concerted effort to fire Mueller. Your views of the liberal media frequently cloud your assessment of Trump.

Then, fruit is a useful level of intellectual approach.

Not long after Comey’s Senate testimony, Trump hired John Dowd, a veteran criminal defense attorney, to represent him in matters related to Mueller’s investigation. Dowd warned Trump that the potential corroborative testimony of the senior FBI officials in Comey’s account would likely play a central role in the special counsel’s final conclusion, according to people familiar with the matter.
In discussions with at least two senior White House officials, Trump repeated what Dowd had told him to emphasize why he and his supporters had to “fight back harder,” in the words of one of these officials.
...
Since Dowd gave him that information, Trump — as well as his aides, surrogates, and some Republican members of Congress — has engaged in an unprecedented campaign to discredit specific senior bureau officials and the FBI as an institution.
The FBI officials Trump has targeted are Andrew McCabe, the current deputy FBI director and who was briefly acting FBI director after Comey’s firing; Jim Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff and senior counselor; and James Baker, formerly the FBI’s general counsel. Those same three officials were first identified as possible corroborating witnesses for Comey in a June 7 article in Vox. Comey confirmed in congressional testimony the following day that he confided in the three men.
...
Mueller has asked senior members of the administration questions in recent months indicating that prosecutors might consider Trump’s actions also to be an effort to intimidate government officials — in this case FBI officials — from testifying against him.

Like, radical terrorists use the same language the Islamic religion popularized, so they were encouraged in their acts of terrorism by Islam?
When I take apart a video I think is remarkably dumb, it does not assert its “of equal importance as these other issues.” Only an idiot would think its a comparison of importance for anything. It’s a dumb video and it’s connection is the one I posted about. But if you’re so Trump-deranged that video criticism is saying videos are more important than terrorism, you’re truly lost.
