The NBA just lets their players have political opinions and it’s really a huge deal. The tooth paste can’t go back into the tube. And again, they couldn’t ban celebrations in the end zone. I’m not convinced they can ban this either. Or that all the team owners are willing to fight with their players about it. Of course, a good way to stop people from getting used to the protest is to tell the players they have to stop doing it.

There is nothing from the past year to indicate that riding this out was a sustainable course of action.

Wanna see an NFL team because all their black players get ejected for kneeling? You know what. I take it back. They should totally try that, just so I can watch them squirm.

Also, never say the PR types aren't ridiculously entertaining at times. "The current dispute ... is threatening to erode the unifying power of our game." Speaking of Matt Murrays

It doesn't seem like there's any actual punitive plan coming down the pipeline, but that they'll try to buy off players from protesting by offering them some token stuff. "Everyone should stand..." sounds more like an aspiration than an order.

Haha yeah that would be fun. The sheer amount of fake outrage that this has caused has distracted from the real issue at hand anyway. These NFL players should get all their money together and do something that will really make a difference. If only someone could think of what that would really be. I really feel dreadful for the black community when it comes to this problem. I really can't see a way forward that isn't excruciatingly slow and painful for everyone, and they can't keep letting the problem go on either.

Fine them into the ground, only to lose in court? Again, this is the league that failed to be celebrations. None of this is going to improve their ratings or get more viewers.

But this is absolutely about people that say boo to football fans and also don't car emcuh about football. In a roundabout way, you hit the nail on the head.

What makes you think that the owners can't bench the players? The CBA gives the owners a ton of power in that regard.
