Just voted. Stood in line for about a minute.

That it's for this version of late breaking news.

I just voted. Was really surprised by how many young people there were voting. It isn't like KY is a swing state.

Most people do as you do and vote by party because they don't know.

Kind of gives you some appreciation for how easy it is to actually buy those seats, doesn't it?

There are problems with the system you're right. But the real benefit here isn't Presidential or legislative levels. It's figuring out state Supreme Court candidates or local candidates or Sheriff who you haven't really heard much about unless you're a political junkie. And often the immediate effect on your life will be decided by these folks so it's important to find which one you agree with.

It's time! Get out there and vote!

I voted nearly a month ago with a mail in ballot. I wish more people were aware of them. You don't have to go in early and stand there and deal with anyone.

State sends you ballot, you fill it out at your desk or on your gazebo or in a bar or wherever you're comfortable, then you mail it back.

So aside from President, Senator, and Representative, there were six other positions to be filled on my ballot with a bunch of candidates whose names I don't know. There were Councilman, District Attorney, and a Supreme Court thingy (get to vote twice for this) among other stuff. Not knowing what these positions do nor what the candidates stood for, I just voted the same/similar party across the board for the most part. Probably should've left those blank? *shrug

its not ezpz to get in every state.

That's a shame. I'm glad my state makes it easy to vote. We're a long ways off from hanging chads.

Women honouring the memory of someone who fought for their right to vote by putting their "I voted" sticker on her grave makes total sense to me. It's just acknowledging that they voted because of the struggle of the people who came before them who never got to.

The real sad shock here is the Dailymail.us is apparently a thing.

Indeed. That seems like a respectable enough way to honor the memory.

I mean, there's a live video feed and multiple signs and it's people saying "thank you for all your hard work making it possible for me to vote." I think she'd be pretty happy about it.

Might suck for the adjacent people though.

As long as they clear out the stickers afterwards, I don't really see that much disrespect.

I imagine she would be honored to know people were paying this kind of tribute to her when voting for the first female president. This is like some sort of wild utopia future for Susan B Anthony.

Don't Guam vote just to remind everyone that they're a special group of Americans who don't get a say in how they're governed?

Its kind of ridiculous. Or at least in my entirely ignorant view. Can someone educate me as to why American territories are distinct from states and why they can't vote?
