As an aside, it reminds me of the time in college I tried to go to a Halloween party dressed as a silhouette from the Apple commercials and everyone thought I was in blackface. Not one of my finer moments.
The problem with the debate is you can’t approach it like this and expect much of a discussion. It needs to be taken on a case by case basis, rather than a sweeping condemnation of the entire discussion or claims it is filled with intellectual dishonesty. In the case of yoga being exploited, that debate also takes place in India and other countries where yoga is part of their history. And it has been going on at some level or another since yoga classes were being given in the US.
In the case of cultural appropriation, my litmus test is if someone is getting offended on behalf of a culture they are not part of or have no connection too. If that is the case, I think they might protest to much. But when someone of the culture is complaining about the treatment of their culture, that is a different story.
Seventy-five former ambassadors, including 57 appointed by Republican presidents, released a letter Thursday endorsing Hillary Clinton and criticizing Donald Trump as “entirely unqualified” for the office.
“As career officers, we have served every President since Harry Truman, and have proudly represented every President since Richard Nixon as ambassadors or senior State Department officials in Senate-confirmed positions,” the letter obtained by Yahoo News reads. “We have served Republican and Democratic Presidents with pride and enthusiasm.” The Washington Post also reported on the letter.

Trump, they wrote, is “ignorant of the complex nature of the challenges facing our country, from Russia to China to ISIS to nuclear proliferation to refugees to drugs, but he has expressed no interest in being educated. In his frequent statements about foreign countries and their citizens, from our closest friends to our most problematic competitors, Mr. Trump has expressed the most ignorant stereotypes of those countries; has inflamed their people; and has insulted our allies and comforted our enemies.”
Cultural appropriation is stupid as hell. Do you give credit to a white dude whining because the cast of Hamilton is entirely black ? No, because that kind of people are racist. The opposite is the exact same.

And a black guy is instantly part of which culture exactly ? Bob Marley and rastafari ?

I cant wait for the Trump presidency. I've watched too many SJW videos this year. I think it has warped my image of the US heavily and made me root for Trump.
How big is the PC crap on campus really?
EDIT: I dont know why I quotted you but since I already did I might aswell comment on the video. I'm actually starting to feel bad for Hillary. She seems to be losing ground under her feet.

I think this is a useful metric. I'd add that it's more about perceived respect than your intent, but yeah.
Cultural appropriation is kinda a strange part of the whole PC thing. Generally, PC is about "don't be a dick to people, particularly in ways that relate to systematic oppression." But I've seen all sorts of claims to cultural appropriation that are legitimately baffling. I just don't buy that a Samurai costume or writing a novel set in a different culture are inherently problematic. If you accompany the costume with an offensive faux accent, sure. If the novel perpetuates crude stereotypes or you haven't done appropriate research, sure. But not the actions in and off themselves.
Basically, I insist that Star Wars gets off the hook even though its just a Westernized version of Kurosawa. :-P

Trump has a weird fetish for strongmen who restrict civil liberties.
Though this is a pitch to make her seem more connected to Millennials, she has absolutely no charisma unlike Obama when he did the show. Also you can tell she gets very uncomfortable/angry by her expressions.

It is weird he keeps meeting for foreign leaders, which is normally a no-no when you are running for president. Not prohibited, but normally not done.

To be fair, Obama did go on a tour through Europe and the Middle East, though he did meet with the leaders of our closest allies rather than, y'know, the leader of a military junta which overthrew the democratically elected (though not-so-secular) government.
Jesus christ please make it stop. Why do halloween costumes have to be offensive now? If this keeps going I will literally have to start voting for the shitty party just to get away from all the stupid "this offends me" censorship.
Donald Trump’s campaign chair in a prominent Ohio county has claimed there was “no racism” during the 1960s and said black people who have not succeeded over the past half-century only have themselves to blame.
Kathy Miller, who is white and chair of the Republican nominee’s campaign in Mahoning County, made the remarks during a taped interview with the Guardian’s Anywhere but Washington series of election videos.
“If you’re black and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault. You’ve had every opportunity, it was given to you,” she said.
“You’ve had the same schools everybody else went to. You had benefits to go to college that white kids didn’t have. You had all the advantages and didn’t take advantage of it. It’s not our fault, certainly.”
Miller also called the Black Lives Matter movement “a stupid waste of time” and said lower voter turnout among African Americans could be related to “the way they’re raised”.
Her comments risk further alienating African American voters from Trump in the crucial swing state. No Republican president has reached the White House without also winning Ohio, a state in which 12.7% of the population is black. [...] Miller, however, suggested low turnout among black people could be connected to culture. “I don’t think that’s part of the way they’re raised,” she said. “For us, I mean, that was something we all did in our families, we all voted.”
Miller also dismissed the racial tensions of the 1960s, when she said she graduated from high school. “Growing up as a kid, there was no racism, believe me. We were just all kids going to school.”
Asked about segregation and the civil rights movement, she replied: “I never experienced it. I never saw that as anything.”
Miller added: “I don’t think there was any racism until Obama got elected. We never had problems like this ... Now, with the people with the guns, and shooting up neighborhoods, and not being responsible citizens, that’s a big change, and I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America.”
Miller dismissed the suggestion that Trump was exploiting racist or prejudiced views among some voters as “the media making stuff up”. Instead, she said of the Republican nominee: “He’s very willing to talk about issues that have never been discussed publicly.”
When it was pointed out that some people might find her remarks offensive, Miller replied: “I don’t care, it’s the truth.”
