"He's with a pile of makeup putting it on his face, I said Marco, easy with the makeup, you don't need that much. You know the story with Marco. I watched Marco with this man [Christie]. Where Marco, he was right over here I asked him I said are you okay? He looked like he just came out of a swimming pool. He was a mess."
Trump said Rubio was putting makeup on with a "trowel."
"He's a nervous Nellie," Trump claimed. "I watched him backstage, he's a mess, the guy's a total mess. I joked recently, could you imagine Putin sitting there waiting for a meeting, and Rubio walks in and he's totally drenched? I don't know what it is but I have never seen a human being sweat like this man sweats."

Oh my god can you link the source I don't believe you
That can't be true because Doodsmack is so sure he doesn't call males 'a mess'

I have linked multiple sources refuting this statement.
I think even if Trump had never called anyone a mess before, him calling a woman a mess now is in no way shape or form an indication of 'sexism'.
Doodsmack is literally just white-knight trolling at this point
Nah, it's not white-knight trolling. It's just more of the same liberal shitposting that has been his hallmark since he started posting around here. When I talk about the differences in moderation between left and right points of view in this thread, he's Exhibit 1.

There he did use the word mess, but he's also talking about something very specific - Rubio being drenched in sweat.

lol, are you guys now really filling pages to argue whether trump has a specific insult reserved just to woman (and states/countries/whatever nonmale things) And then based on this you follow that trump is sexist or not? Trump being sexist or not is a topic I could see arguments for and against... but whether his use of "mess" is unique to women or not... No, that wasnt on my imaginary list.
Sometimes I wonder what went down first, the quality of conversations/discussions (like this one) or the quality of candidates... In any case it seems strongly related.
This is just stupid. He's called so many people that regardless of gender
I can't say I've seen examples. On the other hand we could trot out a lot of examples of him using this type of language with females.
It literally became a meme from him calling his male primary opponents 'a mess' for months
Most notably Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz
You just aren't trying very hard to find examples that would contradict what you want to believe, which is just human nature
I did various google searches and came up empty. Can you provide proof? And there's still the issue of the rest of the language Trump has used in regards to specific females he's exacting revenge on.
Yea I'll google 'jeb is a mess' or 'ted is a mess'
It's hard to find an isolated source all I can find are meme videos because it's been used so often by Trump in reference to males. Hence why I find it so stupid that you think it's an instance of sexism.
This has been around for months and the second he calls a female a 'mess' it's now sexism according to you?
white knighting 101
That's the role of identity politics: the leading candidate for president of the US is a member, through birth, of an oppressed class, so any insult, like calling her a mess, must be motivated as a bigoted attack on that identity and is an electoral issue. But calling the opponent an orange clown is justified because he's a big bully. Different rules for you and a convenient shield for me.
I hope you are aware that nativism and nationalism are just as much a part of identity politics as feminism and minority rights. This is the n-th post I've seen in this thread suggesting identity politics is something specific to libruls
Does there really need to be a debate over whether or not "mess" is used sexistly? There are plenty of other examples of Trump being sexist, that one hardly needs to focus on the "mess" comments and can just look at the dozens of other things he's said and done. Surely it's been firmly established that Trump is sexist by now.

I think this debate is about at least three things. One of them is that we shouldn't post links without perusing them to make sure they actually include what we say they include. Another thing is that Trump is pretty nasty to everyone he doesn't like for whatever reason. Another is that Trump may or may not be a sexist based on some evidence of which a mess comment might be one.
Luckily we can mostly agree on the first two, I think. We'll never get anywhere discussing the last thing because of the second, unfortunately.

Right because I'm using this "mess" example (which he did not say about Cruz or Bush) in isolation, rather than referring to a pattern.
Your pattern is you went to an archery range and found an arrow stuck in one target and said "This is sexism" because you want it to be instead of noticing that the archer shoots thousands of arrows all over the place.
I actually quite like the idea of accusing Scott Walker of running on a deficit and having weak job prospects. Posting from my phone so I'm not able to easily find the article but if I recall correctly he has a negative net worth which is quite impressive for an overpaid public official with very generous expense allowances.

Are you playing a game of chicken to see how hard you can troll without the left-posters admitting you're trolling?

So he was explicitly insulting the appearance of a man running for president.

Glad you agree it isn't sexist and it's fucking retarded for doodsmack to assert it is
for the record i did some googling myself and i found a direct quote of trump calling orson welles a mess but it was situated among praise and i felt like posting it would be like failing myself in some way
Yes if we all agree that Trump is sexist, the argument is basically moot. If people don't agree that Trump on the whole uses different language with males and females, they need to look at examples, of which "mess" is just one.

You know that your insistence on this "victory" makes you look pretty much the same as doodsmack?

This was the shit I locked the thread to prevent. Unfortunately the shit buildup started leaking and the thread was reopened as a pressure valve.

This is correct. There are any number of other examples that liberals could use to paint Trump as a sexist (and they'd still be wrong, but that's besides the point). This "she's a mess" business is absolutely retarded.
